Are y'all insane?!? This is the best drama I've seen in ages!
Now, I expected just another All Of Us Are Dead but with aliens, and i never been happier i was wrong! This is not just an action shooter rpg gamelike eliminating monsters. This really is about war. Any war. And it doesn't matter who you fight against in it, it's always the same - crushing people's lives and minds and bringing death everywhere. No rules of an ordinary life work at war, and the show shows it in the best way possible.🔸️I either was a bit confused by switching the setting in the second part. How could the kids be abandoned by all their commanders? 말도 안 돼. But once you forget about it everything starts to feel even more horrifying. The truth is, you are always by yourself, and having and maintaining friendship in such situation is incredibly hard. And we see that in the drama. I was shocked by how agonizing, wistful and painful the drama is. It's better than Saving Private Ryan indeed. Because I can associate myself with those highschoolers.
The sttudents are portrayed perfectly. They learn to cooperate, grieve and think like adults yet they are still playful and full of dreams. The conditions of the war itself are crystal clear. It's not an offensive but a defensive war. So you can easily imagine moral choices one has to made in it.
🔸️The intro gives me shivers every time. It's tragic, and wistful, and horrifying in a very subtle way with characters shown as columns in an album, with only a memory of their past presence left. Kids turning into soldiers, carrying arms instead of future. And you think one guy going mad is stupid? There are real cases in the army of such "accidents", and what lead to them, both the environment and the mental state, are explored here.
🔸️This drama is much harsher than any drama I've ever seen. Much better written as well. Isn't that what always happens at wars? There are so many of them happening right now, look around! Ukraine is right on the edge of Europe. Seeing kids in full military uniform having fun with guns lying around is not a TV show for some people. The atmosphere of this drama is absolutely unique. I feel like this is something I saw in a dream that I forgot right away waking up.
Masterpiece.
"Why did grown ups give us guns? They had to keep us from getting them."

This literally isn’t that bad LOOOL
I’m assuming you have read all the negative reviews about this part but if you have watched part 1 it’s only right you finish this show. Sure it might not be what you’re expecting but it was still a highly entertaining watch for me. I enjoyed this part AND I enjoyed the ending … having said that could they have gone in depth about a few things ? of course (wonbins sudden disappearance, the aliens adaptions, what happened in the time jump.) but what was given wasn’t terrible at all and was good imo. It was quite clear at some point one of those kids would do something terrible and it was hinted it would be youngsoo for quite a while. From what I understand many of you just seem to hate the ending because you liked the kids and their friendship which doesn’t justify fully hating the ending since I liked the kids but also liked the ending. Had they given the ending which you all were expecting (spheres are killed by the kids themselves and everything goes back to normal) there would be 0 tradegy and would be extremely predictable and boring especially since there are many other shows of this genre (dystopian apocalypse). A happy ending just would not have suited this drama whatsoever so I’m glad they went for this route. It just seems this show was just cut short and they had to make do with what they had which I understand. This part isn’t half as bad as people are claiming and to put this on par with aouad (all of us are dead) is quite insulting to this series. Was this review helpful to you?

I see what they were going for?
What to say about a show like this? This is my first review here, and that probably says something as to how conflicted I was, I just had to share.Wanna start with a shoutout to the visual effects teams, both the CGI and practical effects were flawless and it's a great-looking show. The actors were also really good for what they were given.
Unlike many other reviewers, I won't say "don't watch if you liked part 1" or "avoid at all costs", but I will say: part 1 and part 2 are almost like two different shows/timelines using the same/similar characters, so if you prefer to think of it like that to protect whatever part 1 means to you, I think part 2 is still worth a watch and maybe just think of them as separate beasts. One thing of note for me was that many characters made stupid, uncharacteristic decisions, some making a 180 personality shift from part 1. I also didn't like the chosen portrayal of mental health issues and their interactions with those from poverty-stricken backgrounds, which I feel might increase the heavy stigmas those vulnerable in our communities are already facing.
After this, I will spoil the ending (although most everyone already did), so be warned.
I won't lie and say the ending didn't frustrate me. It was so pointless, so meaningless. Not entirely unexpected, but not satisfying either. Not neat. Not "thematic".
But then I think of the kids from the science school. They had their own characters, their own stories, their own dreams, something they were marching toward. And yet in the story we saw, they appeared briefly and then were reincountered as a bunch of gruesome corpses on the path our heroes were taking. They died horribly, meaninglessly, off-screen. Their bodies were ransacked for loot and they were not buried or mourned by those that encountered them. Was that a fair ending? If we were watching their story, would it have been satisfying?
In real life, when an earthquake hits and 2000 people are buried in rubble, meaninglessly passing away, do they think that was how their lives were going to end? Did that factor into their plans for the future?
In a way, I think this ending was the most realistic ending possible. It was, as loss of life tends to be, brutal and unfair. We're upset because we were with some people on a journey, and that journey was cut short. There was no build up to a great climax, their lives just ended in the dumbest way, and nothing of value was learned or gained.
So yes, the ending was really annoying, absurd, divisive, nonsensical, and a hundred other words connoting something negative. However, looking back on it, I don't mind it so much. If the writers wanted to communicate the futile nature of war, they hit the nail on the head. If they wanted us to reflect on how unfair, wasteful, cruel, horrific, and unnecessary violence like that is, they hit the nail on the head. If they wanted to comment on how our "enemies" are not who we think they are, or that we shouldn't even be thinking of people as "enemies" in the first place, they hit the nail on the head. If they wanted to drive home the point that aliens were never the problem, humans were .... well, that one I find a bit on the nose.
What annoyed me more about the end of the drama, to be perfectly frank, was the complete lack of answers to my questions. One I asked several times an episode - what happened to Won Bin? One I asked many times as well - why would they do that? It makes no logical sense for someone to leave that there, or to do what they did. One I asked almost every scene - how is that still working? Shouldn't the batteries have run out long ago? Why are they wasting all those precious candles when everyone is in bed or in another room? Why are they playing so fast and loose with bullets all the time? They had 800 bullets in stock? They used that in 2 scenes, shooting all around the spheres and not hitting anything. Somehow they have all this ammo still! What are they carrying around all the time? They always say they don't have food or water, but their bags are full? Is anybody going to check on Ae Sol's wellbeing after what was an extremely traumatic assault that everyone witnessed? They are all comforting Bo Ra for a flesh wound, and So Yeon after she fainted, but nobody cared about poor Ae Sol almost being gang-r'd?? How did those 4 at the end survive their multiple gunshot wounds with no medical supplies around and no help? And what happened to Won Bin?
So yes, no shortage of questions, frustration, pity for what might have been an excellent conclusion or continuation of an interesting story, but still I don't regret watching it. Whether they ran out of budget, time, or they couldn't get all the actors on contract to keep filming, whatever the case may be, it's just a shame the ending felt so rushed. I kinda wish it just ended with the bloodbath and we didn't see the couple of scenes after - that was a stupid attempt to give people a somewhat happy/hopeful ending after the brutality of the loss of life, but I didn't really need that. The lives cut short so meaninglessly and brutally spoke for itself. It wasn't a great show plot- or writing-wise, so I can't rate it higher, but for some mindless entertainment it wasn't a total waste.

Should’ve left the writing to the professionals, the webtoon writers
It’s about time drama writers stop trying to modify webtoons. There’s a reason the creative community chose the wentoon, they released a story, a style of writing and it was embraced and acceptedSome things do need to be modified for the entertainment value of moving picture but the process, the development and the moral of the story should’ve been kept the same
I read a bit about how the ending was executed in the webtoon and it made more sense
Here their biggest downfall in both seasons was lack of coherent development
Everything conveniently went downhill, they just happen to run in different directions, they just happened to have missed the signs
But I was fine until they went berserk with the changes and many things changed
Again the changes from the 1st half made sense for the impact but the development lost all their handwork
I get the exam guy going nuts, kids are emotionally unstable
He was bullied, looked down on, didn’t have the luxury of a steady home that he carried the burden of the future, he was alone and snapped
The way he snapped wasn’t done well, I thought he killed the cool kid, tbh that should’ve been his breaking point
And maybe he’d have seen the kids seeing the video at their final destination and so he lost his shit , sure when he went back he thought old looking girl was telling them everything and yes the one he 1st killed was his bully…
That’s what it goes back to, the bullies became cool, dependable and charming. Even bora. Soon they all bonded. Especially the way they were forgiven for lying
But for nerd guy, he was just alone alone alone
Now, the pre bully murder tbh was too disgusting and pointless. Sure he was upset old girl looked down on him but he didn’t have to assault her. This way, he wasn’t bullied into breaking point, he is not the victim, but everyone was right about him and he was a creep
10years in and he wouldn’t have become a dr or any type of office worker. He’d have become one of those creepy coworkers who’d end up in jail cuz he kept making moves on the female employees and ends up assaulting her….
In the other hand they made aesol kill him as a way of “she was the real type of outsa” and he was just a creep that was outcasted
Anyway what hurt the most was realizing the teacher, the team leader and some of the earliest kids(?) didn’t die, I’m not sure about the ending tho I did read it went with less casualties
So basically the old sacrifices went down the drain, and many died in the name of “a few weeks later they discovered a better weapon” so the kids didn’t have to become soldiers, they weren’t supposed to be sacrificed by the adults to just gain time.. and the adults + others just lived happily ever after? Well all wars are like that I guess….
But I feel like the enemy should’ve been the adults, the higher ranked soldiers and wobin for leaving the kids unattended, that guy deserved to die, team leader sacrificed for the kids and he just went back to base??
Basically they went Mist on us, it “didn’t have to go that way, if only they waited” I hate that as much as I hate the “it was all a dream”
Anyway I thought geek guy led the aliens to the kids, so the shock was ok but again the steps, the results… I cried more when they were all putting on makeup and laughing, kids should be pure, bullying is the main source of the trauma….

Is writer mad or somthing?? Worst ending ever
What the hell.. is this alien story or just bullshit story about mad idiot...when part 1 they alredy killed so many kids without even giving them wepons.. and there r dumb parts like when they grab that key with hand like that, even so there haf story and it is actually cool.. even i am not cried or scared i loved that story.. and this is the first ever drama thay i waited without patience for 2nd part.. but what the hell, only 1st episode aliens arrived then only few, then here comes prisonrs and then tht idiot go crazy...
Is writer go crazy or did he forget about story line. Why the hell they all should die.. its actully ok if they died becoz of aliens.. but no hell.............. worst ending ever.. this is not humans fight this is aliens story..
And 2nd part, story line is suck i think it would be more better if they end it in ep 6. There r no news about parent and there r still balls left and theire only kimchi write exm hell dude hell... and when some scenes come to end it is not ending cool way becoz next part started from other different sscene. Is writer drunk...??? i am so angry right now 😠😠
As for actors no need to argue they are best every character did thire part superbly except writer 😒
And most funny part is i waited somthing happend and at last moment of lee n then he will come back... that what i hope but look at what we got not only lee but also won bin disappeared and all kids just dead.. poor us
(I write this again (edited riview) this part after thinking - When I was wondering why this happened to a story that had so many ratings, what I thought was that we were watching the story in the wrong corner.... We watched this with expecting a feeling like All of us are dead, but that's when we thought that we missed one of the most important points of the story. We watched the story based on the alien spheres. But the kids in story were not thinking it that way. For those children, whether they have the spheres or not, it doesn't matter to them whether the world is destroyed or not. Wanted to face the exam called CSAT. Those children went to military service because of CSAT, when their friends died one by one, when their parents didn't know whether they were alive or not, even when the lieutenant who was their bodyguard died, but those children did not want to leave this mission because of CSAT, if you look closely, all of them died at the last moment. That also becoz of CSAT That's why.... If you look at the story on the basis of CSAT, thinking that the spheres is actually a just in your mind , the the beginning, middle, and end are balanced....
In my opinion, the main purpose of the story is to tell how badly a competitive exam affects a child's mind... Even if it is not scary things like duty after school, even when we are doing competitive exams, when the exam is near, the books of the class top are lost. They have been working as if the admission is disappearing. As far as I know, such things are still happening today... If you look at it like that, there is a similarity between going after the competitive exams by trampling even the closest friend and the things that happened in Duty after school....
But overall i dont agree with writer becoz this is survival drama about aliens. Itz not survival drama about school kidsor somthing

Who are the real monsters really?
Ok, I get the bad reviews. Really, I do. BUT!!! On a deeper level, this drama (and especially the ending) is genius level and to be fair, has been building up since the previous season. Ever since the CSAT's were cancelled, we have seen this guy spiral. The madness in his eyes grew ever larger and his paranoia was truly outrageous. I was surprised nobody noticed or looked after him. Goes to show how much of an outcast he really was. The focus from the monsters in/from the sky (who were sort of manageable in the end) shifted to the monster on the ground. When you think of the fact that these monsters are very real and appear just about daily, should we not actually focus on this irl? I'm not saying that the drama is a social complaint piece, but I do feel this is what is supposed to be the message: Monsters Are Real, They Are Everywhere, They Are Human. Was this review helpful to you?

I'm devastated by the ending. My heart is broken for these beautiful souls
I'm so heartbroken and I'm just so upset the ending had to be done like this. Why not give them all a happy ending? The first reason why I started watching this drama was because of the cutest couple Kim Yoo Jung and Wang Tae Man. They're just the cutest, but I cried when I saw one Youtube comment under one of their videos and it said, "They'll never be able to confess to one another". I'm just really hoping we get to see both of them in another drama with full of romance and comedy.
After starting the drama, I began to love all of the characters. They all became one big family and it just breaks my heart that their last conversation together was about what each of them wanted after the war was over. They deserve the whole world, not the devastating ending. Writer & director, why?! They could've lived full lives and be happy and you destroyed that. You broke a lot of hearts after watching that stupid excuse of an ending.

Don't watch the second part as it will destroy all your good memories with the first part!!
Okay first of all I love the first part, I was eagerly waiting for this one and it just totally disappointed me. It seems like the main writer wrote the first part, then he become sick and asked his pet to complete the second part as I don't think a person can write this much shits in one show. The vibe of two parts are completely different and second part is awful. The ending is bad. Really bad and I will talk about it later, lets talk about other than the ending part first. So first we can see that the gang are doing their duty, they became pro in shooting and they finally become a team and doing great in killing spheres. They have a good shelter, a good amount of ammunition and food to survive. Everything seems fine. Right? To us but not to them. Maximum of them want to go back seoul to their home, because to them that place is safer. But in first part we got to know that in seoul there are more sphere, their patents went to shelter, so none's in their home! So why do they want to go back?? Just to get killed by sphere? May be. But after seeing so much things in front their eyes, after losing so many people how could they be this much childish? How?
Then a girl called Ha Na was telling lie to stay at their shelter and everyone was accepting that! that girl did not even guard the shelter properly, rather just did nothing, so my question is where is her consciousness? Is it even possible for a person who saw her classmates and platoon commander died while saving her to just do nothing and stay only at the shelter?? Really??
Dead of sung chool!! Sphere came and killed him! The sphere detectors were not well developed so it could not be able to detect the sphere, so it came and killed him, understandable. But then they just went back without attacking others! Why? Are sphere that much civilized! Or they kill one person at a time!! Others talked, moved even shouted in the same building, but the sphere did not attack them! LoL!
Na Ae Chol! OMG! She opened the prison without other's opinion despite knowing there are some deadly prisoners there! Okay! Humanity! But none even said a word to her! Like really! She disobeyed the team's decision and put everyone's life in danger, still she did not seem sorry or none told her a single thing! Huh! Everyone is just so great. But my question is not that. My question is the writer had only 4 episodes to complete the whole story. Does it really necessary to include this criminal angle? What does this angle mean to us? Nothing! This whole angle was for nothing but time wasting, boring and poorly written plot.
I even dont convinced with lie angle! It was also unnecessary . But as those babies love to stay at home, so they got angry with the clever ones and proved their dumbness. Understandable!
Now time for the mighty ending. Its bad! Its real bad. I am feeling sad, angry even disgusted after watching this. Just one thing i will say if I ever tell you to see duty after school, please forgive me for my ignorance. Dont waste your time and be happy.. I wish it was all Kimchi's dream. It would make more senses then this wedding.
I have ranted a lot in this review. This one is less of a review and more of my ranting session. Sorry for that. But i just cant sleep without writing all these. I am sure none will read this but if you do thank you.
Acting and background music were never the strong fort for this cast in this drama, story was. But as in this part, the story ruined everything so its useless to talk about acting and music.
Lastly, i am not trying to find plotholes or logic in fantasy drama. I am just trying to find the story which is necessary for making any drama.
Thank you.
PS: the pet completely forgot that, they had an ajhusshi who stayed with them in first season. So he could not even give him a closure or an endind in part 2.

The last scene was just a lil too fake with chaos!
Wait! It was very obvious that there were many of them who are fast and good in shooting! But what's wrong? Why make it too fake in the end? It was just chaos. They can kill and shoot the fast and speed and strong spheres but not the weak and nerd and slow annoying guy. It was better if the guy just woke from dream and make it end. The last scene was fake and like a kid made drama. Just a playground. The guns were on their hand but was just waiting for the guns to shoot them. Ruins the mood and all.Was this review helpful to you?
Watch this drama Till 9th ep...
Honesty saying please do not watch the 10th episode.....the drama is very good till 9th ep but 10th ep ruined everything....I am regretting watching the last ep....there couldn't be any worse ending than this.....If you wanna watch 10th episode watch it on your own risk...
After reading few comments I realized the webtoon version is Good...so it's better to read the webtoon instead of watching the 2nd season.
After watching first season I was eagerly waiting for the 2nd season and was curious about what will happen... if there will be a happy ending? or who will survive? etc.....But Now I regret watching 2nd season

part 1 was better
I stumbled across this drama on YouTube a few days ago and decided to watch it.I finished watching part1 in two days. The story line was great the actors and actress were overall 10 out of 10 for me.Then comes part2 I was so excited to continue this series and after finding out I only had to wait two days was great.however I was truly disappointed in part 2. really don't know they decided to end the drama in this manner its like they didn't even put an effort in the ending of the story. There was closure no answer to any of my questions. Was this review helpful to you?
Last episode ruined the show
Last season I started the drama without any expectations. The trailer and synopsis didn't got me excited for the drama. Even then I started the drama as I love the zombie/alien invasion genre. And man, it was just the best drama of this genre alongside Sweet Home for me. Yes you heard it correct it was better than All of us are dead. This got me thinking that being on a good platform like Netflix hyped up All of us are dead. And it also had a better known cast than Duty After School. Not that Duty after School was released on a bad platform but there was no hype for the drama. So this what one could say don't judge a book by it's cover. This season I came to watch this drama with high expectations. As the first one had set high standards for this one. And man what the hell was that. They started from zero and by the end of season 1 they were the IT drama And by the end of the second season they are again back to being zero. I haven't read the webtoon but from what I heard things don't end this badly in there. Its like the writers and directors thought that this drama wouldn't not be a big success so they just tried to finish the story in the first half. Guess what the first half became a big success in the international market. But they can't change the ending they have already shot.
The last 30-40 minutes felt like an eternity and just killed the drama for me. How great it would have been if the writers just ended the season at ep 9. And look at the good response the show is gaining and hen changing the ending they have decided for the show. It was a 9 rated drama till ep 9. And if anyone reading this is planning to watch this season. Never watch the final ep of this season. You will just be pissed off and annoyed.
I must say in a real world that would have been the most realistic ending. Now that I think this whole drama has been the most realistic one out there. But reality is often disappointing and this is what happened to this drama. We came to watch a drama but got hit by the hard reality.
