Emotional Drama with Great Character Development
This 20-episode drama-comedy series is about a 40-year-old father, Ah-Wing (Ronald Cheng), who raises his son Lil T-Rex (Juju) after the death of his wife (Jennifer Yu). As Ah-Wing navigates his new reality as a single father, he forges a special friendship with insurance consultant Tze-Ming (Maggie Cheung). This is an emotional drama covering heavy subjects - the death of a loved one, infidelity, divorce, mental health, regrets, but also talks about family and friendships, and the ups and downs of life. This drama will make you cry, make you laugh, and touch your heart. There are so many layers in this drama.
The actors and actresses did a great job playing their roles, and the writers did a great job with character development. I love how the series unfold by using flashbacks to help viewers piece together each character’s backstory. An outstanding HK/Canto series, way better than the TVB series from the last 10+ years.
You can watch this series on Viu, the Hong Kong-based video-streaming provider (viu.com). Shout-out to all the actors and actresses; the co-directors Peter Tsi, Tony Law and Patrick Leung; and producers Tsi, Cyrus Ho and Connie Tam. Great job on producing this over 55 shooting days in between Hong Kong’s COVID-19 lockdowns.
