Warm and fuzzy with good mix of comedy and emotional moments
This was one of my favourite Jdrama so far. I did not watch the manga and anime, so I don't have a point of reference to compare. But this drama was really good in making me laugh a lot with the comedic and cute moments. This is really difficult considering I am not a big fan of comedy as a lot of time, they aren't done properly. Besides the comedic moments, there's also the part where it will make you tear a lot. I think the background music also adds a lot to the atmosphere of the drama and acts as a good supporting role especially for the emotional moments.I really like the themes explored in the show such as adulting anxiety as it's really relatable to me since I am also at the stage of an early young adult navigating what I am going to be doing in the future. And Yosuke Sugino nailed the role as an unconfident and awkward but talented calligrapher. This was coming from the point where I have watched his earlier works and I can definitely attest to how much he have grown as an actor. Risa also nailed her role as Naru as she had many scenes that required her to cry on the spot and as a young actress, that was really commendable! And her chemistry with Sugino in a sensei-disciple relationship is really in another level. The other young actors and actresses were really good too! Especially for Hiroshi, whom I can totally feel his dilemma and hesitation of deciding if he wants to pursue a career in culinary.
Another highlight was the episode when granny Yasu passed away, it was done so beautifully and realistically and a much reminder of how we eventually have to face our certain future of dying. There were so many amazing stories in this drama and totally worth to rewatch especially if you are feeling down.

Good Enough
Japanese Drama " Barakamon " is a slice of life drama adapted from the popular manga-anime series. The drama follows the main lead as he goes from being a city boy to learning the advantages of living in a small rural community, something that helps him connect with nature and rediscover his art.
The drama does a good job of blending all the characters together and creating the right mood. Their relationship was strong and enjoyable to follow, from getting to know each other to becoming family.
The comedy, in addition, wasn't loud and allowed the story to focus more on human relationships and art.
The performances, finally, by all the actors and actresses in the cast were enjoyable, and the song fitted the drama perfectly.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

Treat yourself with pure goodness and positivity!
Before I begin I have to admit I haven't read the manga. However, the animation is among one of my favorites which is why I was both surprised and suspicious when I found out there has been a TV adaptation. Even so, I decided I will check it out, hoping it will be worth it and and I can say with all my heart that I now love this just as much as the anime!!!! All my doubts had just faded away as fast as I finished episode 1! The cast is splendid and they do a great job at turning all of my beloved characters alive! The scenery is amazing, the music is chill, the scrips is beautifully written (in my opinion) to keep the mood and transfer the beautiful messages through the characters to all the watchers who might need them. Thank you for all the work to the whole cast before and behind the camera! I'm truly touchedWas this review helpful to you?
Fun~
Before I start the review, I want to put a disclaimer that I only began this show after reading the manga and watching the anime, however far back that was, and thought of giving the show a chance, too, and I was not disappointed! The cast worked so well together that I didn't even realize I was watching a show until the episode ended. It was like watching a movie or reality television of life on "Goto Island". Each episode was hilarious, heartfelt, and extraordinarily cheerful, even with the sadder moments. I don't want to say the show taught me lessons about life within each episode, but it was truly wonderful to watch each character grow, overcome, and excel at whatever troubles each episode brought up. The dialect from the island was fascinating to listen to, too; I could listen to them talk all day! However, the big surprise to me was seeing two of my favorite actors in the show (Endo Kenichi and Okada Yoshinori) who I didn't even realize were in the cast, and most definitely fueled my excitement to continue watching.
I laughed a lot during the entire show, and yes even learned a few life lessons or how to look at a situation differently, but this show is way too good to be only 11 episodes. I would have liked to of seen more character development between a few of the islanders. I was very much enthralled with each story in every episode and the entire series, too. I could see the similarities between the live-action, manga, and anime as "Barakamon", though I could also catch a few differences in each adaptation that created a brand new story ever time.
