Kim Woo Bin is back❤️❤️❤️

Just give this drama a chance. eventhough it seems a roller coaster ride story that you dont know whats its purpose. Still its fun to watch. Bae Suzy acting is sooo giving and Kim Woo Bin is sooo back and so attractive in this drama. The kissing scenes is soo perfect that you will think.. maybe its possible that they develop feelings while shooting the scenes... The other characters like Sade is cute and the dog scene Poppi.

Try to finish watching it.. and you will appreciate this drama.

A ROLLERCOASTER RIDE K-DRAMA

Quick Verdict
A wildly ambitious fantasy-romance that has strong moments and beautiful visuals, carried by charismatic leads (Kim Woo-bin & Bae Suzy), but marred by tonal whiplash, controversial religious elements, and uneven execution. If you like K-dramas with magic, high stakes, and emotional highs, it’s worth checking out — just go in knowing it isn’t perfect.

What’s Good
Lead Performances & Chemistry
The reunion of Kim Woo-bin and Suzy is one of the biggest draws. Their acting—especially in emotional moments—is very strong. Many viewers feel their scenes together are the high points of the show.
Original & High Concept Premise
A genie (named Iblis) who awakens after a millennium, a woman born without empathy, and the challenge of granting three wishes that test human nature. The idea of exploring human flaws via wishes is intriguing. The mythology, stakes, and fantasy elements set it apart from more typical rom-coms.
Emotional Stakes & Dramatic Moments
There are scenes that hit hard, particularly in the later episodes. The relationship arcs, memories from past lives, loss, and sacrifice give the story emotional weight. Fans report being moved by the ending.
Visually Ambitious and Some Strong Fantasy Elements
The fantasy setting, special effects, and overall visual style have been praised at times. Some settings—especially the more magical or mythic ones—are lush and immersive.
Despite that, many viewers found the ending bittersweet yet satisfying, praising its emotional impact.

⭐ Overall Rating: 9/10
Worth watching for fans of fantasy romance and emotional stories, but expect a few rough edges.

Watch cleanly and w/o reservations and THEN comment~

Leads killed it in the 1st half but it was a bit slow in the middle and dragged at the end. Still funny!! Suzy's persona was Wednesday Addams plus SYJ's Ko MunYeong in It's Ok To Not Be Ok and I loved it and it's pathetic that this drama is going to remembered for one thing that wasn't there at all.

IDK why Muslims are turning this into a religious thing but so be it. 90% of the world has a problem w/ the child raping incestual pedophiling women beating death to all infidels marry 6 yr olds jihad inbred screaming join us or face genocide views that Islam teaches. Netflix, SK, and Suzy will all take massive hits to reputation for no reason but it wasn't smart to do anything with any ties to Arabs in general with the atrocities currently being committed. We watch dramas to escape the real world, not be reminded of it and some scenes hit HARD.
But this is a FICTIONAL piece for entertainment purposes ONLY. FICTIONAL ppl. Muslims are turning this into a religious thing for no reason. The Islamists crying and review bombing a FICTIONAL drama is HIGHLY ironic considering what they're doing IRL. Parodies of ALL religions have been used in FICTIONAL dramas and movies for ages and they wouldn't have said anything if it was something other than theirs. But that's Islam. Hypocrisy and intolerance at its finest.
I was highly entertained and had no thoughts over religion until I saw the reviews destroying this over it. I also know not all are as bad as the criminal ones engaging in the acts of violence I listed that the media talks about daily as they're caught engaging in their 'religious' practice. So watch the drama for the drama, not the religious slander many are making this out to be. Slander is what I said up top. But is it slander if it's all true?

Most Islam accurate Iblis

The first 3 minutes of ep 1 was the almost accurate description of Iblis/satan. Of all the show that describe satan this is the closest to the accurate description of him except the lamp part..also that angels were the first creation of god and genie were made after them and lived in this world long before humans did and were exterminated because they grew arrogant and deviated from the path... Iblis(didn't bow down to human) was granted the wish to corrupt gods creation (human) until the world ends....I loved the creativity of the writer who made this story on the concept of Satan...the actors played their part magnificently and the story was not dragged with a compact 13 episodes.... Give it a try you'll love it

Vejam!

The Arabic-Korean Blend in Genie, Make A Wish? Absolutely Beautiful!”

When I first saw Genie, Make A Wish, the cover alone had me like— “Okay, I need to see what this blend is about!” 😭 And honestly? I was so right.

The effort in this drama is CRAZY. You can literally feel how much work the actors and actresses put in — especially the way they mix in Arabic language and culture. Like, do you know how hard Arabic is to learn?? The blend is just so beautiful to watch.

The acting, the storyline, the visuals — everything connects so well. It’s that type of straight romance that makes you smile for no reason. I’m giving this a pure 9/10 (and that’s rare for me).

I think this might just be my best 2025 straight romance so far. We haven’t had many this year, but this one? THIS ONE, I love it so much 😭💗 I don’t even have the words to explain — just go watch it, because ahh, it’s worth it!!

A Mirror to Your Own Heart

Genie Make a Wish doesn't just tell a story—it excavates your own.

This drama becomes a vessel for every dream you've ever tucked away, every regret that still whispers in quiet moments, every version of yourself you've been and might still become.

You'll find yourself wandering through your own past as much as the characters navigate theirs. The happiness hits differently because it reminds you of joy you've tasted. The sadness cuts deeper because it touches sorrows you've carried. The anger rises because it mirrors frustrations you've swallowed. And the love—oh, the love—it doesn't just show you romance, it reminds you what it means to be vulnerable, to hope, to believe in magic when the world feels too heavy for wonder.

This isn't passive entertainment. It's an experience that asks something of you: to feel fully, to remember honestly, to stay present even when it hurts. The journey demands strength—not the kind that hardens you, but the kind that keeps your heart soft enough to break and brave enough to mend.

If you make it to the end (and I hope you do), you'll emerge changed. The sky really will look brighter, not because the world has shifted, but because you have. You'll carry these characters with you like old friends, their choices echoing in your own.

We need more dramas like this—stories that don't just entertain but transform, that trust audiences to meet them in the depths. Let's hope this isn't the last of its kind. Let's hope it's the beginning of many more.

A 10/10 K-Drama You Can’t Miss

I don’t remember the last time I binge-watched a K-drama and this hit me hard from start. They bought me with her first wish. She has anti- social disorder and her first wish? To prove humans aren't inherently corrupt!
Comedy that actually lands — from episode 1 to the finale.
💔 Deep messages about love, sacrifice, and human flaws
💰 Greed is called out hard — and it hits
Stellar cast, but let’s be real…
Kim Woo Bin = role of a lifetime
He nailed every scene. Charisma, emotion, depth . Funny, deep, and unforgettable.
10/10. No skips. No regrets.

THIS HEALED MY "UNCONTROLLABLY FOND" HEART

Okay, let's get one thing straight: I never hit the fast-forward button once. I’m happy to report that I binged Genie, Make a Wish, all 13 episodes, from start to finish without skipping a single moment.

To address the issue right off the bat: I am aware that there was some understandable controversy surrounding this drama, specifically regarding misinterpretations of character related to a particular religion. However, I watched this purely as a viewer looking for a good, enjoyable fantasy-romance ride. The show definitely nailed every aspect of a good drama.

The biggest win here, no contest, was the absolutely electric pairing of Bae Suzy and Kim Woo Bin. Their chemistry was just on fire. For those of us still scarred from Uncontrollably Fond, this was the reunion we needed, and thankfully, this time we got that sort of happy ending we'd all wanted. Their dynamic as Genie (Iblis) and Ga-young was mesmerizing. Even when Genie's character was meant to be wary of her, or when Ga-young showed zero emotion, the longing and connection were right there in their eyes. You could see the spark; it was a silent conversation of destiny.

The romance itself was perfectly paced. It wasn't one of those slow burns that drag on forever, and it wasn't a whirlwind romance that makes you shout, "Wait, when did they fall in love?" The evolution of their bond, from their initial chaotic clash to genuine, protective affection, felt earned and truly satisfying.

But the leads weren't the only heart of this story. Can we talk about Mi Ji and her Grandma? Honestly, they deserve all the love. They were the anchors for Ga-young, believing in her and loving her unconditionally when it felt like everyone else feared or misunderstood her. Their unwavering support provided the crucial warmth that made Ga-young's strange journey so compelling and human. And then also for Sade and his little canary, so cute.

I really enjoyed the potential for a bromance between Iblis and his brother, but it just wasn't 'giving' enough. That storyline felt thin, as if it needed another few episodes to develop fully and hit the emotional depth it should have.

Either way, this was a 10/10 for me.

they did not disappoint!!!!!

woobin and suzy blessed us with this magical drama. it wasn't bad at all like other reviews in mdl mention. the writers and directors summed it up perfectly in 13 episodes, this is definitely a must watch
i loved how they kept switching between dubai and korean village, the story was adventurous, and the characters had depth to their individual story which i really loved. i think people are making unnecessary hate reviews, when it wasnt even that bad, infact it was a good watch for me( i binged it) .
woobin was sooo goooddd in the drama.
and suzy ...my my my, her psycho yet lovable personality was so well played, her outfits were great too, in ep 13 when she lives her 3rd wish,😭😭😭😭her emotions that she was hiding all her life and in all those 12 episodes that she wouldn't express any emotion and in the last she we see her crying of happiness sorrow guilt anger . that was so emotional. i could really go on and on about the characters.
in the end all i will say is that in 13 episodes they really summed it up perfectly, and after so long it was a diferent kdrama .
i loved it🧡
