girl what
the actors were just about the only good thing in this show. i have 2 major complaints:1. the romanticism of mizuki’s sexual coercion is horrendous. i know that’s pretty common in bls but that doesn’t make it any better, plus it’s not even used as a form of “character development” here because he keeps it up til the very end. i firmly believe they could’ve made the plot just as, if not way more, compelling by removing the whole obligatory sex thing and all the scenes where mizuki forces himself onto yoh.
2. the plot goes absolutely nowhere, in fact it goes in circles. every time it seems like they’ve communicated their feelings and things are looking up, one of them (usually mizuki) overreacts about a misunderstanding and then they’re back to square one. even by the end they haven’t communicated their feelings properly and are just in another lull phase whilst misunderstandings continue to brew underneath.

MY PERSONAL WEATHERMAN!!!
This show was probably the thing that kept me going in the week, knowing I can come home, relax, and watch this at the end of the week.Is this show DEFINITELY a 10/10? No. Is it in my eyes? ABSOLUTELY!!!
There are many things that I LOVED, but there were certain things that I didn't like so much.
The ending was a bit confusing. Were they actually TOGETHER?
I always love Japanese BLs (RECOMMENDATIONS PLEASE!!) and usually never rate it lower than a 7-8. What was it about this show that made me enjoy it so much? THE CHEMISTRY!!!!
The chemistry between the leads is just outstanding, which lowkey made up for all the misunderstandings.
Some of the scenes were HOT!!! As in like, peeking through my fingers and giggling. THAT TYPE OF HOT!
If I were to give it a lower rating, the reason would be because of the misunderstandings.
The way they couldn't just talk it out infuriated me. A simple discussion would have made the relationship better and stronger. The fear of rejection shouldn't be there in my opinion. Segasaki had obvious feelings for Yoh, IF ONLY HE JUST FOLLOWED BODY LANGUAGE AND FACIAL EXPRESSIONS!!
Overall, this was an amazing JBL, and would definitely recommend. (especially people who like a bit of spicy scenes..) The chemistry is THERE!

Worth every minute of watching
The achievement of "My Personal Weatherman" is to take two characters, unlike each other in so many ways and seemingly so incompatible with each other, and by sleight of hand almost, show them understanding themselves and each other more, so that, by the end of this modest 8 episode series, their relationship evolves beyond the initial physical connection to more solid love and respect. Worth every minute of watching.MDL requires minimum 500 word reviews, so it's worth repeating:

my favorite japanese bl
I didnt expect to like this series so much!! This is my favorite japanese bl. It captivated me at the beggining and till the end. I really like both of the actors and was impressed by their chemistry. It is rare to find a japanese bl with such an acting and all. At first I felt sorry for Yoh. He is a stay at home man, who cook, clean the house, etc. and do everything that the handsome weatherman said. Mizuki, at the other hand, is toxic but deep down he really like Yoh. He was the only one , who didnt make fun of him at college. The plot was a little bit strange. I think that both of them was insecure - Yoh didnt talk much, he was shy and feel the need to say sorry a lot. Mizuki was possesive and was jealous, which is both cute and toxic at the same time. The chemistry between them was on high level. Yoh looked at Mizuki with pure love, his feelings was strong enough to stay in his house such a long time.
I watched this series for one day, which means that this bl is amazing and so interesting. I will rewatch it for sure. A total 10 stars from me!

Outdid the source material
At first, I didn't expect much from an adaptation of a smutty BL with a sus plot. I thought we'll get a Tokyo in April level of acting/kissing, but wow! This drama actually outdid the manga. The actors and directing style were the major reasons I liked this drama. There were drama original elements which expanded the story and thoughts of the characters. I kinda liked Drama!Mizuki more and his angst 😆
Many people might be skeptical to watch this as they see the relationship toxic and abusive, but I think they should look deeply into the characters and their thoughts. (Yoh has some issues towards Mizuki, but I don't think he sees their relationship toxic. He considers himself a slave, but that's because he doesn't know how to name their relationship.) I'm glad the drama actually expounds on that. The manga is rather comical in that regards, since well, it's manga. (Manga!Mizuki sulks, but he doesn't have that angsty vibe drama!Mizuki gives.) The drama has a sense of reality.
TLDR; all in all, I love how the actors and the staffs gave justice to the manga 😆 This is my first time giving a review since this drama deserves a higher rating 😁

Another good japanese drama
Let me start by saying that this show has that captivating sparkle that only a Japanese work can bring.Anyway, 'Taikan Yoho' has a great and exciting start that grips the audience with its intriguing premise. We are introduced to a shy Mangaka, named Yo, who lives with his idol, a beautiful weatherman, Mizuki. However, in the middle of the road, we discover that Mizuki likes/loves Yo back, and we're presented with the idea that we're going to see a shift in their relationship. Unfortunately, this change comes slowly and is a little bit unsatisfying for me.
While I still think that this piece is a wonderful show (maybe due to my bias towards Japanese TV shows), i believe that more development in their relationship would possibly take the show to another level."

What red flags? I'm colour blind ~
Before watching the drama, I noticed people are saying how much of a red flag Mizuki is; it is not 100% true.Sure he may put absolutely out of context rules and regulations but then he never harm Yoh; never neglects, always worry about him, provide everything as promised. They're communication and emotion is somewhat limited; nevertheless it coveys at the end of the day.
I actually love Mizuki's character for he is a man of action and stays true to his words. What's more Yoh is a perfect match for him as he absolutely love everything about him. Which is cute. I wish I have that. (Delulu !)
Their opening soundtrack is nice and catchy while the closing is simply the sweetest as it makes you calmer and appreciate what just happened on the current episode you watched.
Their acting and chemistry is astounding! I truly felt every emotions they have and they're too adorable. And as per usual, I have the need to be with someone after watching Jdorama ~ always. ugh.

A cute BL drama fantasy that should stay in fantasyland
It was very cute but such relationship wouldn't last/work in reality. Mizuki offering Yoh shelter in the series was a way for Mizuki to indirectly say that he likes Yoh but that's very weird for me.. and Yoh accepting it so easily is like accepting an ice cream from a van that kidnaps children. Continuing on, it seems to me that Yoh moves in eggshells everytime he's around Mizuki, he adjust everything accordingly to what Mizuki likes and it's like a husband(mizuki)/wife(yoh) dynamic in japan where the guys go to work while the girl be a housewife, you know the guys be lazy at home while the girl do everything at home and that dynamic is so icky!! In addition, I think their first time doing "it" was also from Mizuki's liking rather than Yoh, it doesn't look consensual since in later episodes, then Yoh just found out his feelings for Mizuki so they weren't even in a relationship to begin with but rather they we're roommates then(?) but Mizuki gatekeeps Yoh IDK IT'S CONFUSING there were so many miscommunication since they barely talk about their feelings to each other other than talking about food, laundry, cleaning and s*x :/The actors were all good-looking and very good with their performance and the two leads chemistry is so well!! I wish for them to appear on another drama together cause the chemistry is out of this world, they fit well and I wanna see them in another setting where the story actually matters rather than a lot of fanservice-kind of drama series.
wishing for another season that will help resolve my issues from this!!

I guess miscommunications works well with these two
*happy ending*I think they did a great job recreating the manga. They really did well in acting the tense scenes and making the love scenes seems sensual but without showing too much.
The actors are very handsome as well. Though i dont know if it is their acting or the leads' characters that are the problem. I think their characters are too static and flat. I am kind of sad that the series only showcased the part where there is not much development in their relationship and in their own careers. This series became somewhat like an introduction series ofr a future season 2, if there will be one.
I hope i can see growth in the next season in their characters as well as the actors' acting.
I still love though that their kisses is not a peck but also not a very deep kiss. I can feel them being comfortable with one another.
Must watch BL i might say. ♥️

I wanted more
Oct 15, 2023Taikan Yoho is definitely one of the better bls released for the last quarter of 2023. Although, it poses the very red flag and toxic male lead, Segasaki, he is not as bad as what you might expect from the synopsis.
Obviously, this bl is adapted from a manga, so the delivery of certain lines was a bit off when the actors portrayed it. But nevertheless, it was not a huge thing for me to notice or for me to drop the show.
The plot is pretty cute but I did feel like the ending did not give a very good closure of the series. It just seemed like it got cut off right there.
I still think that the series is pretty decent in terms of comparison with the on going/recently released asian BLs.
Please give this show some love as it deserves it!

Wonderful
I thought this was an excellent adaptation of the manga. They even kept material that international viewers would not approve of, and I like that they kept their focus on staying true to the story. Japanese people are socialized to "read the air" in social situations, but this series was an example that even people brought up to do this from birth, do not always get it right. Both Yoh and Segasaki struggle with not understandings the other's feelings.I thought the ending was so sweet and tender. Both characters gain clarity in that they both expressed loving the other, and are now a couple. Yoh now knows that he isn't just a loser freeloader, and Segasaki now knows that Yoh reciprocates his feelings.. I thought that it was poignant to show them making love, then having a meal together, things that couples do together. That touched my heart more than tears or a monologue. The only flaw was the fujoshi shipper, but at least she was not over the top about it. She genuinely cared for her friend Yoh.
