This GL series is, without a doubt, the most visually striking one I've ever come across.

I’m not here to spoil the story in my review; I simply want to express my feelings.

Initially, I didn’t expect much from the series. Yet, Freen and Becky have shown remarkable growth since their last project together.

The series is so mesmerizing that I felt as if I had stepped into a fairytale. The visuals are absolutely stunning!

Freen and Becky share an incredible chemistry that genuinely makes it seem like they are in love. Their interactions feel authentic and effortless, creating a warm and fuzzy feeling inside. You can truly sense the bond between them, leaving you eager for more of their charming moments together. This is what makes their portrayals of Anin and Pin so remarkable—they breathe life into these characters in a way that feels authentic.

I have to admit, there are times when I really can't stand kissing and love scenes. This feeling applies not only to GL but also to BL and straight series. Why is that? Because these scenes often feel so awkward and cringy. I often find myself watching them at twice the speed or just looking away to avoid the cringe. It seems like many actors don’t have the chemistry (or the confidence) needed, and they perform these scenes just because they’re part of the script.

I've mentioned before that the connection between Freen and Becky is exceptional, and that's precisely why their intimate scenes are so beautifully crafted. You can tell they aren't just performing these moments to check a box; they genuinely feel at ease with each other. This comfort translates into their scenes, making them feel authentic and enjoyable rather than clumsy or uncomfortable. If you’re like me and often feel uncomfortable during such scenes, I promise you’ll love how these are portrayed.

This series has a charm that makes it so easy to watch again. I can definitely see myself coming back to it after some time because it feels like it will never go out of style.

This series turned me into a true fan of Freen and Becky. Before watching The Loyal Pin, I was just a casual viewer, but now I’m genuinely excited to support their acting careers and follow their journey. I hope they team up again in another series, but I’m also keen to check out any other projects (non-GL) they pursue, as they’ve really grown into amazing actresses.

Is this series worth your time? Absolutely! You'll feel as if you've stepped into a genuine fairytale, witnessing a heartfelt love story unfold between two women deeply in love.

What a period series should be

What a incredible series this was. Everything was done with so much care and attention that the final result couldnt be anything but beautiful.
The production hit all the points, a period series like this is not easy to find, the director was on point with every aspect this series required, each episode was better than the previous one. The story was built carefully and with the pace necessary to understand the characters, the era they are in, the society the live in, their decisions, basically to understand who they are and why they do the things they do.
The locations were absolutely beautiful, and although we've seen the palace before on other series there were so many parts of it we didnt get to see then that we could see now. The thai culture being shown in this series was amazing, i believe anyone who watchs this will want to go to thailand to see what they have to offer.
Now the whole cast was really good, each one of them portrayed the characters in a way that was never lacking, never letting the quality go down. Both Freen and Becky evolved so much and they delivered amazing performances as Pin and Anil, it was so satisfying to watch them give life to these characters, they were able to bring us all the emotions needed, the happiness, longing, pain, everything.
The ost was so on point, it married beautifuly with the series, from the opening credits to the final credits the music matched perfectly. This series is definitely worth the watch.

Romantic period pieces about same sex couples is a tricky subject, there is always a sense of gloom and tragedy hanging around the corner. To avoid that writers often infantilize the prejudice of the past and turn their stories into some sort of alternate universe. The Loyal Pin almost found that perfect balance between both, it's still more on a sweet, fairytale-ish side of the scale, but the obstacles that the character have to overcome and heartbreak they experience is very much rooted in the socio-cultural framework of the 1950/1960s. The stakes are high, their love strong, but decisions are often made based on "what should be done" and it fits the characterization, the historical context and the main theme of the show - which is loyalty.

Things I liked:
✅ Traditions, customs, food and everything related to Thai culture. Yeah, I know that this show has govermnment backing and a lot of this was done to promote their country but I didn't mind it at all. I'm not that familiar with this culture, so it was nice to sneak a little peek at its beauty.
✅ Becky as Princess Anin. I have to say, Becky's performance in GAP didn't impress me that much, she was kinda forgettable. I cannot say the same about her as bold, cheeky, playful and devoted Anin. She's just perfect in this role.
✅ Characters that make sense. Their contradictions and questionable decisions make sense if you put them in that specific historical and context. These people are products of their enviroment, I have never expected them to act differently, so this is one of the rare cases when disapproving family trope feels appropriate.
✅ Some beautiful declarations of love here. Both verbal and not.
✅ I'm not the biggest fan of FreenBecky, there is always something missing for me in their more casual interactions, but boy do they deliver in intimate scenes.

Things I didn't like:
❌ Continuing from my last point about the intimate scenes - do they always have to be fully clothed while having sex? Don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about full on nudity because this is not that kind of medium, but not even bare arms? It was ok in a car or kitchen scene but even during their "official" first time? Ridiculous.
❌ This drama certainly tests your patience. On one hand, the slower episodes were setting up the angst that was about to come. On the other, my goodness, was it boring. I almost dropped this show around episode 10.
❌ The abuse of skin filter needs to stop. Immediately! Their faces were so airbrushed they almost looked AI generated. Especially older actors. I swear, I was looking for Princess Alisa's nose in one scene because her features were so blurry!

All in all, The Loyal Pin is a lovely show, there is a lot to appreciate and cherish about it Personally, I appreciated it more than truly enjoyed, but the attention it gets is fully deserved.

A good gl!

While waiting for the last episode to come out, I decided to watch gap because I hadnt seen it before. And wow! The girls have come such a long way! Their acting from gap to the loyal pin has improved alot, that was nice to notice.

I genuinely enjoyed this drama. For the most part, it was written quite well. I am very impressed with the quality! Probably the best Thai gl Ive seen in terms of that. I found it interesting and was excited for each new episode. I will say it was slow paced and dragged on a bit, definiely couldve been shorter. But other than that.. I dont have much to say, it was a good drama, worth the watch.

Best GL Series

The Cinematography, Acting, Music, Character Development, Production, Dialogue and Artistic Style is Top-Notch. To be honest i'm not a fan of period drams but this caught me by surprise. It's Funny, Sad, Makes me Angry... it's making me feel a lot of emotion. I love that we had the chance to witness Anin and Pin as kids, teenagers and grown-ups. It's like we also grow up with them. I also love the hesitation of Pin and the time it took for her to take time and realize how she feel for Anin, because some shows feel rushed. I also love that the characters are not one dimensional, like they have good parts and bad. Because some shows always have a character that is always nice like that person has no dept or personality. Anyway this show is amazing!!

A MASTERPIECE

Everything about this show is pure perfection. From the directing to the acting, to the chemistry, to the script and set designs. It is all incredible. This is one of those shows that truly shows off that series are works of art. Everyone involved in bringing this show to life should be incredibly proud. And if you haven’t seen it yet then I highly recommend, especially if you like period pieces.

A good one

This GL show is done really well, and I am really liking it so far.

I like the pace of story and how they have not rushed through and given each phase a good amount of time. Scenes are so beautifully done and a treat to watch.

The way emotions are expressed and dealt with are really nice. Freen and Becky has done justice to the novel characters.
so far, it seems like a romance worth watching!

A drag

Started out great. The cinematography is beautiful! So are the actors and actresses. Story-wise it became boring pretty quickly. It would've done better with less episodes and more drama I think. Dropped because it was boring.
Ps. It sounds like the kissing sounds were editted in? A shame...
I am disappointed!!! I love Freen and Becky and they're usually quite good! But it just felt lacking and dragging on and on and oooonnnnn

" A Heartfelt Tribute to Thai GL Series and Their Bold Celebration of Love and Culture"

First of all, I want to thank Thailand for producing GL (Girls’ Love) series while other narrow-minded countries remain immersed in promoting homophobia through media content. I am genuinely grateful to this country because I would not have been able to find happiness and joy during my darkest times if it weren’t for Thai GL series. Thank you so much.

As for this series, it created an unforgettable space in my once-shrouded heart. To be honest, I found some episodes to be dull, as it felt like they repeatedly featured similar scenes. However, despite this flaw, the show deserves to be praised and applauded for its unique qualities.

The series beautifully captures the little details in the environment, making every scene vivid and immersive. It showcases traditional Thai food so exquisitely that I felt like I was watching an aesthetic food blog—something rare in television. Moreover, it highlights Thai royal traditions, cultural events, and functions, offering viewers a glimpse into the royal attitudes and behavior of Thailand.

Above all, the show masterfully portrays the calm, sweet, lovely, restless, emotional, romantic, intense, overwhelming, and even dangerous love between two Thai royal women—Princess Anil and Lady Pin—who belong to a conservative society.

One of my favorite moments was the scene where Anil bravely declared her love in front of her mother, brother, and Lady Pin's aunt, Pattamika. Her courage to confess her secret love for someone of the same gender in front of her family filled me with pride and left my heart boiling with emotion. I admired her guts to stand up for her love against societal rules and restrictions.

This show is not only a beautiful love story but also a bold statement about love, culture, and courage. I truly loved it.

A Great Period GL Series

The plot is great, but the pace slows down in the middle. Most importantly, it inserts advocations for the LGTBQ+ community and marriage equality into the storyline, especially towards the end.

The acting is phenomenal. Freen acted exceptionally well as Khun Pin through her eyes and body language. While, Becky is the dark horse who improved drastically from GAP with little cringey scenes.

The OSTs are beautiful with variety types of music.

Lastly, the production is grand and well-done, specifically the cinematography. Not one shot is ugly.

Chato
