There was so much potential
I wanted to love this series because I really like GeminiFourth, but this just fell short for me. I didn't dislike it, the cast and OST made it an enjoyable watch but I expected more after how incredible My School President was. Speaking of, there were way too many references to MSP (the only one I genuinely liked was in ep 11) and it felt like a desperate attempt to please fans by giving them a hit of nostalgia. The story felt slow and fast at the same time and Atom's clumsiness was downright cringey sometimes, which is so different to how I felt about Gun's clumsiness in MSP. I also didn't feel like I knew the characters that well. Kongthap was so one-dimensional despite being one of the leads, and I don't think I'll remember any of the side characters after a week (except my girlie Mudmee ofc). But enough of the bad, I would still recommend watching this series mainly for the cast and OST. Gemini and Fourth are obviously very talented and they deserve all the recognition they get. They're both amazing singers as well, which is evident with how good the OST is, each song is a bop and I will be listening to this OST even after I forget the entire plot of this show. Chokun and Aungpao did a great job, wish Aungpao had more screen time tho. But I'm most impressed with Pahn, this is her first series and she absolutely slayed. She was able to deliver emotional scenes in such a natural way and she made me fall in love with Mudmee. Honestly, just watch the show for Pahn, she's worth it.

A huge commercial with some story sprinkled
I'll just preface this review by saying: I treat this drama as a separate entity to the manga and the JP live adaptation. However as someone who has watched MSP and Moonlight Chicken, I do have a lot of expectation for this drama as GemFourth has proven themselves to be acting powerhouses. They still are really good actors, however the script does not give them an actual chance to shine, which is a huge failure for this series.I have a couple of things that I particularly enjoy:
1. Kongthap defending Atom against the homophobic jokes made after their stageplay.
2. The stageplay itself.
3. Kongthap and Atom scenes where they have actual heart to hearts.
4. Mudmee when she is endearingly honest.
5. Kongthap's confession episode.
6. Any emotional scenes with Atom.
7. Amazing OST.
The above were done really well, but here are my main issues with the storyline:
1. Series feels aimless - not sure how to explain this but there are no clear climax and therefore no clear resolution.
2. Pacing is off.
3. Script does not play into GemFourth's strong suits.
4. Horrible amount of product placements.
Look, I don't think this is a bad series. However this is far from being GemFourth's best. Objective rating would be a 6.5 from me but I am a sucker for mindless fluff so I have to give it a 7 for personal bias.

Lukewarm and mundane, lacks heart
1/ The basic premise – the titular love mix-up – is not new, but it is okay; it applies only to the main couple, as there is no mix-up leading to the formation of the secondary/support couple. Also: the mix-up relates only to the first 2-3 episodes, after which the series is a standard BL. This reminded me of “Hidden Agenda” – the titular agenda was of some importance for several episodes, but it was not something show-defining (which caused some complaining from the audience).2/ The plot and script are weak, uninspired and unimaginative. Problems do not end there: pacing, story progression, characters (immature, often dumb – but not in a cute way – and annoying) – all of that felt subpar.
3/ This is not a bad nor boring show, but it is not particularly interesting nor captivating either. There are very few actually emotional scenes and a handful of genuinely funny ones – the rest of the content just is there. It all felt lukewarm, especially compared to previous two projects of Gem4th: “Moonlight Chicken” and “My School President”. “My Love Mix-Up!” does not have the sweaty and gritty real-life feel of the first one nor the emotional power of the latter; it is an average BL with two of GMMTV’s biggest stars, who deserved a better show.
4/ Gemini and Fourth work with weak material and – at least for me – their efforts are the only reason to watch this show. Fourth in particular uses his talent for comedy to make the show entertaining – which also makes his character less annoying. BTW: Aungpao is in this series – and he’s criminally underused. After what he displayed in “Cooking Crush” (the guy can actually act and has a knack for comedy similar to Fourth’s) GMMTV should trust him with much more than what he got here. Instead we got Chokun (cute but bland) and Pahn in supporting roles, as a pointless secondary couple. The actual support for Gem4th came with a cameo of Chinzilla in ep. 11 – and for less than a minute we could see what this show could have been, but is not.
5/ This is a minor complaint, but still: there are too many adds and product placements in this show. Clearly GMMTV wanted to capitalize on Gem4th’s magic, but went too far. Properly done product placements in a BL – see “Bad Buddy”, GMMTV’s best BL.
6/ The soundtrack is good and – as is GMMTV standard by now – performed entirely by the cast. The opening theme song “ลบยัง” is the best example of how clever, interesting and amusing GMMTV creations can be.
Most of this show’s problems might be coming from it being an adaptation. The source material may be hot and interesting for Japanese standards, but it did not translate into a hot and interesting Thai show – my guess is because of how conservative Japan is compared to Thailand (at least when it comes to BL shows). With other words: it might be a too faithful adaptation. For Thai BL it would be good in 2016, but in 2024 it feels outdated.

I Detest GMMTV'S attempts at adaptations
I love Gemini and FOURTH which is why I have to drop this at episode 1 or I will begin to dislike them. It's not their fault but in my opinion GMMTV has dropped the ball in one way or another in every adaptation I've seen including FIND YOURSELF, F4: THAILAND, CHERRY MAGIC, OSSAN'S LOVE (which hasn't premiered yet but...) right now Im giving another adaptation from GMMTV in A LOVE SO BEAUTIFUL (I adored both Chinese and Korean versions) yet so far the Thai version is set on suck. Dew and Neo are 2 of my favorites but not even their charm and acting can save a GMMTV ADAPTATION.Back to My Love Mix Up. Why Japan keeps allowing a place like GMMTV butcher their source material I will never know (I know it's the money)
Fourth is adorable and a good actor but I watched episode 1 and his Atom (Aoki) fell flat for me. And I can't say I blame him because the director should make sure he excels at this role. It's just not there. As for Gemini I was a little more impressed with his Kongthap (Ida) but not by much. Gemini and Fourth have a lot of chemistry but Fourth seems to be trying to hard to pull this off and as such for me their chemistry is lacking here.
I will admittedly say I did not have the privilege of reading the manga so I'm not sure if this Thai Adaptation is closer to the manga then Kieta Hatsukoi. There Aoki was more of an adorable spas yet so lovable against Ida's straight laced smart guy with no concept of what it means to like another person.
Fourth is playing Atom like he wants to be like Aoki but he's more like a slightly different version of Gun (his role in MSP)
So for me I will end with Episode 1 and go watch Kieta Hatsukoi again to show how this really should be done with Aoki, Ida, Hashimoto and Akkun (Aida) in the only version I want to remember.

dilly-dally
I'm not G4 fan but I used to watch their MSP series and quite enjoyed it. When the official trailer of MLMU was released, I felt a bit odd as it seems like the acting is not as good as I expected. This feeling maintain the same when I watched 1st ep.Fourth acting is ok but in some scences it seems like he gets exhauted and turns out to be stiff.
About Gemini, his acting is a bit no for me :( Tbh, he doesn't do well in those soliloquy scences. I was extremmly impressed by the actor played Ida role in Japanese ver. He did really well in those soliloquy scences so when it comes to Gemini, I was really disappointed. His acting in those scences is so boring and stiff. It makes me feel a bit annoying and really dont want to keep watching this series.
Both fourth and gemini acting make me so confused. I wonder have they ever pay attention to train their skill, like taking some acting skill class to improve or so.
It's kinda disappointed somehow as I like the original Japanese manga. I used to watch the japanese live action ver then dropped after few episodes as I couldn't stand the "overreact" Japanese acting method. That's why I was very excited knowing about the thai ver. But when it's released, it's just so... plain. I'm kinda dragging my feet whether i should keep watching or just drop. Hmmmmm. I wonder will it gonna be better for the next episodes or just keep plain like this.

I dont’t really understand when people gives it low review because they compares to the japanese version which is BS because thats a totally different show.
I havent watched the whole japanese version because I didnt like the first episode so far. So I just scrolled the episodes and for my taste the japanese version ending was boring.
But I can refer to it.
So I am really satiafied because I liked the thai version much better and the main reason was GeminiFourth acting and Phan was good too. I love the fact that the thai version is based on the whole manga and not the japanese version because the manga wasnt compeleted when the japanese version came out.
I love the cinemtography as well. P’Au is a great director and I love his work so much. I cant wait and I am so excited for episode 2.

this is a adaptation from the manga NOT the jap live action plus it has thai cultures, obviously !
just 2 episodes in and its already so good, i was having very low expectations before it released but now my expectations are extremely high, the cinematography, settings and atmosphere is so on point, Gemini and Fourth really did justice to their given characters, the energy and overdramatic-ness of Aoki is so well protrayed same with Ida, the serious yet kind and always confused so well played, the micro expression go crazy btw ! the chemistry is already so THICK dispite not even being in love yet, tells you enough tbh, i love the changes they made to fit the thai cultures especially with the cinderella scene, they turned it into something extremely romantic and heart touching, every is so on point that i feel like im watching the actual manga in action omg! but so far i have only good things to say about this adaptation series, cant wait for upcoming episodes !!Was this review helpful to you?
The songs are amazing by the way, I am happy they are letting both Gemini's and Fourth's vocals shine.
The only thing that could be fixed is the sound in some parts but I can look over it because of how nice the story is unfolding so far!

Gemini Fourth making a history.
To start with, i never watched nor read My Love Mix Up Japanese version, so this review won't contain any comparison.I love G4 couple, these guys can act and they are truly a future of Thailand, so i was really exited to watch their new show. And guess what? I loved it. Gem's acting like "I don't know wtf is going on here" and Fourth's "Veggies are my fave, oh hold on i almost threw up..." Those folks can act for sure.
That's why i don't understand why their new show getting so much hate? Gemini once said "I hope this world will be kind to us". While they have many fans to protect them, there are a lot of haters, who come here and write some shit to drop rating of this show. Bunch of miserable, angry mf with no life. I wish everything you wrote bad about G4 will return to you 10 times more. Shame on you.
P.S. Fourth face when he was eating veggie was so adorable, he's just like those babies who doesn't like broccoli.

GMMTV - STOP ADAPTING MASTERPIECES
I really need them to stop adapting stuff that has already been mastered... Cherry Magic was a 10 and Kieta Hatsukoi was a 10... the style of the manga will always suit a Japanese adaption more than Thai because it's literally Japanese source material so trying to adapt these shows into a Thai setting and culture doesn't work and it becomes very cringe to watch.just got done with the first episode.. I'll give it a 7/10... I agree with a comment below that the directing needs a lot of work and I've been saying for some time that GMMTV production team needs an overhaul and bring in fresh talent... some of the music during the scenes were very odd to me...
