An Underrated Gem Elevated by Park Hee-soon
Park Hee-soon is truly the heartbeat of this show. While the storyline and production were solid on their own, it was his presence that gave the series depth, intensity, and unexpected emotional weight. Seeing him step into a new kind of role—distinct from his previous works—was refreshing, yet he still managed to carry over the same raw charisma that made his past performances unforgettable. One scene in particular stood out: when he plays the cop, there's a subtle callback to his role in The Bequeathed. The way he carries himself, the calm but commanding energy—it felt like a quiet echo of his previous character, but reimagined through a completely new lens. That moment gave me chills, almost like watching two worlds collide.
If you’re already a fan of Park Hee-soon, this series will give you a fresh appreciation for his range.

“Park Min-young + Genius Cons = Your New K-Drama Obsession "
Confidence Queen is such a fun ride! Park Min-young totally owns the role of Yoon Yi-rang, a genius con artist who’s way too smart (IQ 165!) and stylish for her own good. She leads this hilarious little crew of swindlers who pull off wild scams against greedy villains—think fake shamans, crazy disguises, and mind games that make you want to clap at the screen. Instead of just being about the tricks, the show has heart too, with lots of warm moments sprinkled between the laughs. The cast really makes it shine. Park Hee-soon is effortlessly cool as the veteran James, and Joo Jong-hyuk brings so much charm as Gu-ho—their banter with Yi-rang feels natural and makes you love the team even more. On top of that, the chemistry between Yi-rang and Gu-ho adds just the right amount of sweetness.
It’s light, clever, and super bingeable, with each episode feeling like a mini heist movie. THerefore, If you’re in the mood for a drama that mixes brains, comedy, and heart, Confidence Queen is definitely worth the watch.

a waste of time, both for the creators and the viewers
I'm so sorry to say this, because of the efforts of so many people, but after only 2 episodes I can see that the series is not good. The plots are waaaaaaay too illogical, the whole thing is unpleasantly exaggerated, (even music)and acting of main female character is too much. She isnt a good actress. I think they try to be funny and silly but it is……somehow too too much. I'm giving up and never come back.

Robin Hood, But Make It Slick. My First Look at Confidence Queen.
First episode in, and I'm already intrigued. The plot will likely branch into multiple storylines, with the main characters facing off against various antagonists. What makes it interesting is that their methods aren’t always morally clear, they often bend the rules by impersonating others and taking on roles they aren’t technically entitled to. Still, their ultimate goal remains justifiable: to protect the innocent and bring justice to those who have been wronged.
Introducing our charismatic crew of con artists: Starting with Yoon Yi Rang, portrayed by Park Min Young. She’s smart, witty, and unstoppable; whatever she sets her sights on, she achieves. But her schemes always come with a purpose, as she uses her talents for a greater good. Fiercely loyal to her partners in crime and always ready to help those in need, Yoon Yi Rang is the ultimate good baddie, the kind who flips her hair, winks, and blows a kiss while leaving you in awe. And yes, her outfits in this drama are absolutely stunning.
Next up is James, played by Park Hee Soon, the seasoned member of the crew. With his years of experience, he carries himself with an air of sophistication, looking every bit as expensive as he sounds. Calm and collected, he balances the team with his composed demeanor, but he also surprises with a dry, dad-joke kind of humor that’s oddly charming. Most importantly, James is the steady backbone of the group, always standing by his partners and offering unwavering support.
Finally, we have Myung Gu Ho, portrayed by Joo Jong Hyuk, the youngest of the group. Energetic and eager to help, he radiates a puppy-like charm, trustworthy, funny, and utterly genuine. His light-hearted nature brings warmth to the team, and even when he gets a little grumpy with his partners, he doesn’t come across as intimidating, just irresistibly cute.
Confidence Queen has a very promising premise, and I’m excited to see where it goes. While it’s hard to judge a show based on just one episode, I’m already hooked, the concept is engaging, the characters are delightful, and the music fits perfectly, keeping every moment interesting.
Right from the start, the drama gave me familiar vibes, reminding me a lot of Leverage (the Korean adaptation). After looking into it, I realized that the same director, Nam Ki Hoon, who worked on Leverage, is behind Confidence Queen as well. That connection gives me even more hope for the series, especially since I thoroughly enjoyed Leverage back in 2020.
I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds, and I would highly recommend Confidence Queen to anyone looking for a fun and thrilling watch.

Not enough fun. the excessive violence put me off
It started out fun then it got gritty & scary. It's too intense for me & the excessive violence put me off. The Female lead's cavalier attitude-using people & self centeredness is unappealing & I'm not sure that she's well cast in this. But basically it all boils down to the fact that There's not enough to interest me in continuing .Will skip to the end just to see the happy ending.

Total chaotic choppy mess, like a video game
yeah 1st ep was mind blowing, this is like energizer bunny on steroids... so chaotic, for audience with attention span of like 1 msec. Worse than a video gameNothing Korean kdrama-like about it. It feels like a cheap western production - all kinds of meaningless unrelated fast chaotic actions without any rhyme or reason or order or SENSE
THERE IS NO MEANINGFUL COMMUNICATIONS
NO CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
yeah we see they are stealing but ... so what??? Some dazzling flashy scenes just flash by our eyes and that's the drama...
So ... no thanks to this one.

Three scammers seeking revenge for money
finished 7.5/10 🌟Pros:
I liked the scams; they were entertaining, and each guest actor did an incredible job.
Park Ming-young: I liked seeing her in this role. She was the symbol of an anti-hero. She helped others, but always for her own benefit. 🤭
I think it was good for her to break away from the mold a bit, and despite everything, I found it entertaining.
Cons:
I think there were some script flaws, and the "people who helped" had empty moments within the story. I couldn't connect with that. Toward the end, I think they added too much filler. I would have liked more episodes to develop other aspects of Yirang's childhood. I felt his revenge was too superficial, and I didn't really understand his obsession.
An ending that's open to a second season. Honestly, I don't know if they'll do it because of the low ratings. Still, if they do, I'll give it a chance. 👏

⭐ Vale a pena assistir?
