Just ignore the age gap for a moment and hear me. My Rainy Days is actually a really heartwarming love story.
As for reason why you might enjoy this title too:
- Its from the same Screenwriter & Directer, Kanchiku Yuri. Its actually her debut movie.
- The male lead is the reason why female lead decided to change herself like how the female lead (in Hatsukoi) was also the reason why male lead decided to study as if his life depend on it.
- The male lead has some brain related issue too (kinda like how female lead in Hatsukoi got one) (*dont know if coincidence or if the writer just get a kick of writing those sad plot lol)
- To put it short. both story are heartwarming, sad, innocent and pure.
- Oh right, the theme songs are also great, not as well known as Utada Hikaru's maybe but its really vibe with story.

school/teacher/student, romance, cute, senses of humor... for My Rainy Days: Nozomi Sasaki alone is worth watching, her acting in this particular movie is one of the best female lead, not to mention her extraordinary beautiful appearance. Available 4K on youtube.

The same chemistry. Both of their romance touch your heart in a natural, gentle, sweet and deep way.

Both are about teacher-student romance, and while both of them are very cute, My Rainy Days is a bit more serious movie.

Each episode deals with a different girl facing some important choices that may change their outlook. Also, Kato Rosa plays in both of them. Altough "Ketsuekigatabetsu Onna ga Kekkon Suru Hoho" is more light and comedy oriented both doramas are really slice of life.

Following a failed confession to her first love, female high school student Mikoto Ochiai contemplates jumping off the roof of the school building. However, her thoughts are interrupted by the arrival of Jin Haiba, the physics teacher known for being a slacker and the butt of students' jokes. Calmly, he lights a cigarette and asks for an explanation of the events that led her to this precipice. Rather than dissuade her from killing herself, he makes a request—will she enter into a romance with him before she dies? Together, the two gradually ponder why they should keep living and why they should not love each other in earnest.

In both a teacher falls for the student. They are both sweet and lots of romance. My rainy days touches more serious points tho.

Both this drama and the film Tenshi no Koi deal with an age gap relationship wherein the male is the older lead.

Both deal with disease and illness in characters and both seem to have underlying deeper meanings.

Life isn't easy for a group of high school kids growing up absorbed in Japan's pervasive pop/cyberculture. As they negotiate teen badlands- school bullies, parents from another planet, lurid snapshots of sex and death- these everyday rebels without a cause seek sanctuary, even salvation, through pop star savior Lily Chou-Chou, embracing her sad, dreamy songs and sharing their fears and secrets in Lilyholic chat rooms. Immersed in the speed of everyday troubles, their lives inevitably climax in a fatal collision between real and virtual identities, a final logging-off from innocence.

All About Lily Chou-Chou follows two boys, Shunsuke Hoshino and Yuichi Hasumi, from the start of junior high school when they first meet and into second grade. The film has a discontinuous storyline, starting midway through the story, just after the second term of junior high school begins, then flashes back to the first term and summer vacation, and then skips back to the present.
