DON’T TAKE THE LOW RATINGS IN COUNT. IT’S INCREDIBLE !
It’s an interesting and binge-worthy Japanese series.I don’t usually watch Japanese series because sometimes the plot doesn’t feel like my cup of tea nor is the acting of some of the casts but that’s only my opinion (here I’m only speaking of contemporary J-Dramas, I do prefer a little bit old jdramas)
But THIS ! OMG I finished watching this in a night. The plot is so well-written, intricate and the plot twists surprising (except the Harrison one at the end when he is revealed to be the person who scammed the ml’s father ?). The characters were written really intelligently, had lore and really enter in the category of the ´villains are not all white nor black’. This show really showcased scams to another level ! I feel bad for the victims… The scammers being killed by Harrison’s minions at the end was also not surprising…I felt lowkey bad for them as well though they were villains…
The cast and their actings were just incredible and eyecatching !
They all embodied their characters really good and all that in a short series : it’s a 7-episodes-series so you might tend to think the end would be unsatisfying but don’t let this drive you away from this series. Seriously ! you could miss a masterpiece.
The only little flaw would be maybe too much sex scenes.

A scam worth falling for
It's rare to find a Japanese drama that strikes a perfect balance between realism and entertainment. While there were a few moments where the plot felt predictable, the story's execution kept me thoroughly engaged from start to finish. The acting was nothing short of exceptional, where each character portrayed a remarkable commitment to their role and purpose within the team.
The direction was masterful, seamlessly blending tension, drama, and occasional humour.
I'm very happy with the show's pacing, despite my wish for a longer runtime, I appreciate that they chose to keep it short.

Entertaining watch with a strange ending
This is probably one of the rare few Japanese dramas I have watched in my life. I'm not a fan of Japanese dramas in general as the overacting tends to be extreme and cringey. This drama is a far cry from what I expected though. Production value is high and the acting is decent. The only person who overacts is the FL policewoman but thankfully she didn't appear that much. Cinematography is great too.My initial thoughts after watching was incredulity at how even such large companies could even fall for scams when I came across this article: https://asia.nikkei.com/Business/Land-scam-sparks-a-boardroom-coup-at-Japan-s-Sekisui-House . Shocking that a listed company would actually fall for such scams. It seemed that the Sekiyo House scam was based on this incident. Sadly, the show only features 2 scam cases despite being 7 episodes long. I felt that too much time was spent trying to develop the old detective character but he was hastily killed off so his character didn't go anywhere. There was also plenty of unnecessary nudity scenes regarding the nun in the Sekiyo House scam which honestly felt too over the top and didn't serve to advance the plot. Like yeah we get it, she loves those male hosts but there is not need to keep showing her have sex with them like ??? I'm not against nudity or whatever but seriously. Oh, and all those hunting scenes with Harrison where they just try to show him as some sort of one dimensional psychopath. He was so poorly developed as a character with his one trait simply being that he's a psychopath. He's the ringleader but doesn't seem to do much except to launder the money and delegate work. His role reminds me vaguely of the current corporate structures where the boss does fuck all and the employees slave away lol. But yeah in conclusion too much character development for some side characters and none for the main villain. Strange choice.
Finally, the ending. Strang and haphazard. So the ML finally realises that Harrison is the mastermind behind all the shit that happened in his life, thanks to the policewoman. And he starts getting emotional and shit. Which makes me go like HUH. Did you even care about revenge? He was never shown trying to dig into the identities of the scammer and instead was just working hard at his scamming job. He was a land scammer for 5 years too; he could have used some of his land scamming connections or knowledge to find out the perpetrators but no... His motivation to becoming a land scammer were also not clearly explained as well. I'm not sure if some things were missing in translation but the ending conversation with the FL was just abrupt. It almost felt like the show ran out of time and just hastily slapped some dialogue together. Took away the 3 stars for that.
TLDR: Land scamming parts are interesting, but the ending is shit.

Oh dear..... what's going to happen in season 2???
I can't stand Ayano Go but I can't escape this man as he is in a lot of prominent and great shows. Nevertheless, I put my personal feelings aside and watched the show because of the story and the rest of the cast that I recognize. What a thriller ???. I was on pin and needles in some scenes. What a fantastic cast of actors. Great acting. I didn't care for the the extreme gore in some scenes but I guess it's what it's.Hopefully it gets a season 2. Lord knows what Harrison is going to plan next ???? I don't even want to imagine ????????.
The FL did a great job. She didn't have too much screentime but I'm glad that she's acting with such a veteran cast of actors ??. Lol at her habit of flicking her hair ??.
Anyways, great show. Great thriller. Great story and great ensemble cast ???.

I loved every minute of this drama from the beginning to the end. I'm just a sucker for such dramas where a group of people with different set of skills and abilities come together and work as a team it's just so pleasing and entertaining to watch as viewerthe characters are so fun and enjoyable to watch none of them felt like a side character , this entire team really made the drama stand out. the casting for this drama was done perfectly.
that's why this drama overall is a 10/10 for me
so if you plan to watch this drama all I say is enjoy the ride cause it's gonna be a fun one ??
