9.5/10

This was a really good drama. It was a really good storyline and the casting was good. There was a lot of things I think could have been left out or less focused on. Some characters was really annoying like the directors but the various types of other characters made up for the annoying ones. I'd definitely recommend this to someone if they asked for a recommendation.

Side Note: Kim Sejeong's acting in this was so good and I can't wait to see what she does next! I'll also look out for dramas from the other TF members!

Lame Story, but leads are lovely

Great chemistry in the show in both the main leads and second leads. It has very sweet moments throughout but the story itself is quite lack luster. Not bad not great. I hadn’t seen the ML in anything before this and will be on the lookout for him in the future. He was great!

The story itself, is really flat. Follows a very tropey kdrama vibe with ridiculous conflicts and unnecessary drama. Worth watching for the cast, but certainly won’t be a rewatch for me.

It doesn't make me feel anything.

I don't want another drama where they end up with him making beer with her and they live happy for the rest of their days after a lots of misunderstandings etc. I need a happy ending but... It is too mutch simple stuff produced these days. It feels like they all have the same style these days. I don't think the story holds up. I need someone more that gets me hooked right away. This story is about a female and male protagonist who has a complicated history around work and family... She and others must persuade him to make beer for them. She is handsome and happy but sad inside. He senses people's feelings and is angry with his father. You understand. You have heard the story before, but in different versions.

Brewing Love: Here's what stood out (and what didn't)

So, I just wrapped up Brewing Love, and let me tell you, I have a LOT of feelings about this one. It’s a drama with a mix of romance, humour, and some emotional punches that kept me invested—but not without some head-scratching moments. Let’s break it down:

What I Liked:

1. Yoon Min Ju, the empathic brewer stole the show for me. His ability to feel others’ emotions while grappling with his own identity was such a refreshing take. His changing relationship with Chae Yong Ju was especially entertaining, whether they were bantering, arguing, or sharing heartfelt moments. Also, Oh Chan Hwi's over-the-top personality added so much energy to the show—it was impossible not to laugh when he was around.

2. Min Ju’s sensitivity and Yong Ju’s resilience as she fought to save the Busan branch. I loved how the show explored the struggles of being kind and compassionate in a world that doesn’t always reciprocate.

3. From the meddlesome but hilarious Young and Sook sisters to Chan Hwi’s chaotic yet endearing attempts to woo Bang Ah Reum, the supporting characters brought so much life to the story. The village scenes, especially, felt warm and inviting, with a true sense of community.

4. *The music was perfect for the story’s emotional highs and lows. The OST nailed the vibe every time.

5. Once Min Ju and Yong Ju's relationship blossomed, their chemistry was undeniable. That kiss in the mountains? Swoon-worthy.

What I Didn’t Like:

1. Ah Reum’s journey from a scheming opportunist to a sympathetic team player felt rushed and inconsistent. One minute she’s throwing Yong Ju under the bus, and the next, she’s crying about feeling inadequate. It was hard to root for her romance with Chan Hwi when her redemption arc didn’t feel earned.

2. The whole “Does Kang Beom have a crush on Yong Ju?” subplot felt unnecessary. It didn’t add much to the story.

3. Yong Ju’s tendency to act flustered or “cute” didn’t always land for me, and some of her emotional scenes lacked depth. It felt like the actress wasn’t quite the right fit for certain moments.

4. Jjuan’s ex-husband drama just “died down” after that one confrontation?

Despite its flaws, Brewing Love was an enjoyable watch. It combined heartfelt moments, quirky humour, and a fresh take on romance that kept me hooked. While some characters and subplots didn’t fully hit the mark, the show’s charm and strong leads made up for it. If you’re in the mood for something light-hearted but meaningful, give it a try!

Would I recommend it? Definitely, but with a heads-up about its minor hiccups.

ITS OK TO NOT BE OKAY!

Such a cutie drama! Ugh, the beginning & middle episodes were my favorite. LIVED for yoon minju & his delicate, acts of service, noting the small things & going after what he loves. UGHHH IT WAS SOO CUTE when he fell for yongju & didn’t hold back. I LOVE EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT MEN!!!!! Why was he perfect?????????? And hot af????? Ughhh the way yongju felt safe with him and can cry with him. And how he made her a better person. And how he takes more care of her than she does to herself. he’s beautiful. everything i need in a man. AAAND my sejong!!! i love her always!! she seemed so genuine in this drama… i wonder if irl she is really like yongju. i’ll eat up any drama she’s in. CHARACTER BUILDING WAS THERE!!!! Love love love. Yongju being so tomboyish idk got kinda cringe at points. And the villagers annoyed me… BUT THE SIDE COUPLE!! Aw so cute i loveeeeeeeeeee how different they are but fell for each other!! wish they had more lovey scenes… i felt most of them were so bland but they HAD SM POTENTIALLLLL……… awesome tho! love the talk on emotions!!! YOONMINJU MY HUSBAND

Uncomplicated, predictable and straightforward which can be good or bad

9/10 is my rating. This is a 2024 South Korean romantic drama series with 12, 60 minute episodes.

First I provide a unique synopsis then review

Synopsis

Chae Young-ju (Kim Se-jeong) is a tough, smart ex special forces agent who has made a name for herself as a top sales queen for a company that sells various alcoholic beverages. Trauma in her past from special forces activities has led to her supressing her emotions. When a branch of her company is on the verge of closing because of profitbility concerns, Young-ju is not only concerned for herself but for all the other employees, who look up to her, who would be out of a job. The one hope they have of saving their branch is to get master brewer Yoon Min-ju (Lee Jong-won) to develop a new beer in collaboration with their compay. What Young-ju does not know is Min-ju is an empath who senses and absorbs the strong emotions of others. Thee distessing nature of some emotions he experiences, has caused Min-ju to spend a lot of time in solitude He is also determined to keep his craft beers small batch and not calloborate with a large company on mass production. As Young-ju sets out to convince Min-ju to work with her company, will the two give in to their growing attraction for each other?

Review

This was a light hearted, predictable romance with a lens into beverage sales and craft brewing. Minju was such a sincere and sweet lead male character there was little not to like about him. Young ju was very heroic in all she did so it was actually a good pairing. If you want a relatively light, uncomplicated romance then I recommend this. It ends well and does not drag out the story with only 12 espisodes.

Spoilers

My daughter and I always watch dramas together and when I asked her how she would rate it she said a 10 she could not think of anything she did not like about it. I had a slightly different perspective and might have went 8.5 but she liked it so much I figured, overall, somewhere in between our two opinions was a good indicator.

I think the main thing I did not like about it was how mean Minju’s employees were to him in the beginning. I thought perhaps Young ju would set them straight but they just seemed to get better toward him sort of on their own, when she entered the scene. Up until that time they were not nice to him about being sensitive and an introvert.

I really did not ike Young ju’s company at all. So I did not want to see them succeed. It made no sense to me that they wine and dined Minju to make a beer for them up until there started being some problems he had not even caused. Then the company started treating him poorly and that made no sense with someone you tried so hard to recruit. Master brewers are typically in high demand so I couldn’t see a company wanting to get on his bad side.

I really liked second couple and how they explored PTSD. Depictiing it as the world changing and reality shifting during episoodes is what a lot of veterans have described. Their story was almost more interesting and complex than the main couple’s.

#BrewingLove. #KimSeJeong. #LeeJongWon #ShinDoHyun #BaeksungChul

Not a really realistic story, but a sweet & light romance

The FL (warrior) is responsible for the sales of a beer brand in Busan. To prevent the closure of her branch, she must convince a famous craft brewer (the ML - strange and empathetic) to collaborate with her company.

+++ Healing romance, very cute within the CL, super handsome & all-green-flags ML (Lee Jong Won) and Kim Se Jeong very credible as a warrior seller. No break-up, no love triangle.
+++ Lots of endearing characters
+++ Short format (12 ep) enough for this trope.

### A little "Dramaland" and "all good guys"

=> Light and fun series, to rewatch for Lee Jong Won
*********************************************************************

+++ Bcp de personnages attachants
+++ Format court (12 ép) assez pour ce trope.

### Un peu Dramaland et un peu Bizounours

=> Light and fun, series to rewatch for Lee Jong Won

perfect clichê story to take a break

I loved this from start finish
first episode is always to introduce the characters so it's usually hard to watch but I didn't see the time passing after it.

usually I skip cringe scenes but this one didn't give me the urge and I'll watch it again when I need a break from heavy themes or from life.
this drama has healed something in me, I'm a mix of both leads and it was nice to see how they approach each others feelings to create a good relationship
thank God there was no childhood connection
