I binge watched this drama in two days. It was filled with powerdynamics,romance, revenge,seduction and sweet sweet love between two child hood sweethearts who don’t know each other’s true identities when they reunite. FL is stunningly beautiful and stubborn,equal in her deadliness to her soulmate,our alluring and dark killer of a hero. Such a badass power couple!Was this review helpful to you?
Love between pro killers can’t be more daring
It a pretty short, fast paced and straightforward Show. No beating around the bush!! This is a Medieval type of love story. it’s between a man and a woman revenging their dead parents. The ML lost his family when he was 10, lived on the streets and had to kill to survive. During his childhood he met the FL and protected her. The FL asked to learn how to kill too but the ML refused teaching her. The FL got adopted by the man who killed the ML’s family. When the FL’s adoptive father heard of the ruthless “Mr. Mo”(the ML’s undercover but real identity), he faked his death because he knew Mr. Mo was the son of the people he killed and knew Mr. Mo would seek revenge on him. He told his butler to tell his daughter (FL) that it was Mr. Mo who killed him. This was to instigate his daughter to go undercover to get close to Mr. Mo and kill him (as revenge for her father’s “death “) before Mr. Mo eventually finds and kills him. His plan succeeded ( well,.. the first part of it did). His daughter (FL) went undercover as “Xia Zhiqiu” a dancer at the club where Mr. Mo had connections with. Mr. Mo was a well known killer but no one knew what he looked like. Mr. Mo took the name Ye Yifan (among people). Xia Zhiqiu got close to Ye yifan ( coz she knew Ye Yifan worked for Mr.Mo). Her plan was to seduce Ye Yifan to love her, then use this as a reason to ask Ye Yifan to kill Mr. Mo for her. She did succeed to get close to Ye Yifan. Ye yifan knew something was wrong and confronted Xia Zhiqiu. She lied repeatedly and got exposed( her identity, name not being Xia Zhiqiu but Gu Qingyan the daughter of his parents’ murderer and her motive for getting close to him was known also ). She was driven away by Ye Yifan, but used to tricks to make him take her back in. Ye Yifan and Gu Qingyan( Xia zhiqiu’s real name)found out they were childhood friends. Gu Qingyan felt bad for lying to him but couldn’t stop because of her goal. Both the ML and FL fell in love with each other.Later on Gu Qinyan ( FL) found out that Ye Yifan is Mr. Mo. She felt betrayed. After a long time Mr. Mo understood the whole situation and knew that the Fl’s father faked his death. He succeeded to find the man. He brought him to the spot where he killed his family and killed him. The Fl who witnessed this was very angry and shot herself. The ML panicked and when the FL woke up( faking an amnesia) even tho he knew she was faking it, he chose to believe her and no matter what she did to him or asked he accepted because he wanted her not to hold a grudge against him for killing her dad. The ML finally confronted her about her fake amnesia, the FL wanted to kill him so bad! After awhile the FL found out that the reason the Ml killed her father was because her father killed his parents and almost killed him many times when he was a child. She also found out her trusted accomplice Shen Annian was just using her to get what he wanted ( a treasure and map that originally belongs to Mr. Mo’s family) . The day reached where Shen Annian went to attack Mr. Mo. He failed terribly because he didn’t know Mr. Mo had planted spies around him. Shen Annian lost his life. The FL and ML decided to get married and let go of their grudges. On the wedding day, someone kidnapped the FL. Guess who it was…….! The BUTLER!!! He was the real mastermind behind the everything. He instigated the Fl’s father to take the job offer of killing the Ml’s family, used Shen Annian to have the desire to get the treasure from Mr. Mo, used the Fl to harbour grudges and make her hate the ML and want to kill him. That day the Fl asked to speak with the ML one last time before the butler kills Mr. Mo, after which she stabbed herself. When the butler was distracted, the Ml killed the butler and took the Fl to be treated. After treatment the Fl left. After a year she came back to the same club she worked before knowing the ML was there and they relived their memories of when they first met at the club. THE END… what a satisfying end where all the antagonists were killed and the grudges dissolved!!! Totally recommend!!!Was this review helpful to you?
MY ANOTHER HIDDEN GEM!?
I rarely want to share my thoughts after watchin' short drama unless it's very interesting for me! hence i declare that this is included as one of my fav cdramas of all time!ok lemme tell you why(s) :
1. both main leads are strong, they can fight until the last blood.
2. the ML is smart, cunning vicious upon others and yet madly in love with FL.
3. ML and FL can depict their feelings through their eyes and acts🥺
4. idk if those r their real voices, but it get along well with the scenes! how he scream at ppl, how hes spoiled his woman, and the way hes jealous arghhh *melting
5. FL's gorgous! i love her face and costumes!! kinda resembles suzy IMO😊 and she did great as well! beautiful, scheming but in the other hand deeply in love w ML.
6. the storyline is solid without plot hole! i don't even skip any parts like i always did to other web dramas lol. it means that this drama can hook me up until the last ep! i was crying so bad like 4-5 ep in a row but luckily they tuck in short kissing /sweet scene if the tension is about to explode.
7. fighting and kissing scenes are my fav!💜💜
8. THE KISSING SCENES ARE VERY STEAMY THANK GOD THEY DID IT PROPERLY.
9. i don't really like the ending bcs i wanna see them married😭 but its fine lah, as long as the writer make it clear and don't put us in the cliffhanger🤧

A must watch
Everything in thid drama is superb, the casting, the plot, the plot, the set, the makeup, they did it perfectly. This show had raised my expectations, I can't just watch anything now 😂 . Just 10 min into the episode, and you stuck till you finish it. Everything is great, I will watch it again in the future. The dialogs are my favorite.Was this review helpful to you?

Tragic love story with sizzling chemistry and good acting
I watched this mini drama for 2 reasons: 1) Han Dong Lin (watched his performance in Guess Who I Am & She and Her Perfect Husband), and 2) Youku's kissing compilation of this drama ;) Wow Han Dong Lin had many kissing scenes in this drama than in Guess Who I am.What I liked:
1) Main characters - I like that both male and female leads were flawed and morally grey characters. Though I don't agree with the actions taken by them especially female lead Gu Qing Yan, I understood why they did those things. I like Gu Qing Yan's confidence and self-assurance - she is different from other female leads in republican dramas that I've watched. She knows her sensuality and used it to her advantage but she also knew when to stop or say No. I also like that Ye Yi Fan is a badass but at the same time compassionate and loving towards Gu Qing Yan.
2) Romance - Wow, sizzling chemistry between Han Dong Lin and Cui Yi Liang that translated well in their scenes together, be it intimate or normal interactions. I like that they were very tactile - Ye Yin Fan's hands on Gu Qing Yan's face, waist and even backhug.
3) Acting - Great acting by both Han Dong Lin and Cui Yi Liang. They were good at expressing different emotions from sadness and confusion to joy and bewilderment. The supporting characters were played well by the actors too.
4) Ending - I didn't feel 'happy' or 'satisfied' after the end of episode 26. I find the ending bleak because that last scene did not feel real to me, in other words that's his imagination . I think Gu Qing Yan never returned to Ye Yi Fan because she wanted to protect Ye Yi Fan from further misfortunes.
5) Outfits and styling - I love the costumes especially Gu Qing Yan's. Her qipao collection was beautiful and sexy. Ye Yi Fan's hair and outfits looked modern at times but Han Dong Lin looked good in them because of his good looks and build.
What I disliked:
1) Pain - I disliked that Gu Qing Yan inflicted pain on herself at least twice. I understood the frustrations but harming yourself was quite rash & drastic measure to cope with your emotions.
2) Secret - I also disliked that Ye Yi Fan was not forthcoming to Gu Qing Yan about his family's tragedy. If he had told her his secret, she wouldn't have taken a rash decision.
3) Nails - Han Dong Lin's nails seemed manicured and coloured with pale polish. It bothered me because the colour was too obvious.
Favourite scene:
Fireworks scene. Unexpected grand gesture that shows Ye Yi Fan's tenderness and affections for Gu Qing Yan.

Where Love and Revenge Wear the Same Face
There is something undeniably entertaining about watching two professional killers fall in love when every instinct tells them not to trust each other. False Face and True Feelings takes a familiar revenge premise and injects it with enough chemistry, tension, and emotional conflict to make it feel far more exciting than expected. I went in thinking it would be another forgettable revenge mini-drama, but it completely exceeded my expectations.At first glance, the story sounds like something we've seen many times before. A woman approaches a dangerous mafia assassin under a false identity, planning to seduce him as part of an elaborate revenge scheme. Hidden identities, childhood connections, betrayal, spies, revenge, and enemies-to-lovers are hardly new ideas. Yet the drama blends all of them into a fast-paced thriller where every episode raises the stakes instead of repeating the same misunderstandings.
What surprised me most was how smart both leads were.
Neither the male lead nor the female lead exists simply to move the plot forward by making foolish decisions. They react according to the information they have, question each other's motives, and constantly test the fragile trust developing between them. Their misunderstandings never drag on for unnecessary episodes, making the story feel refreshing despite its familiar setup.
The relationship is built on uncertainty from the very beginning.
They're lovers, enemies, allies, and targets all at once. Every interaction carries an underlying question of whether the other person is telling the truth or setting another trap. That constant tension makes even their quieter conversations feel exciting because affection and suspicion exist side by side.
Han Dong Lin absolutely owns the role of the male lead. He's ruthless, calculating, and frighteningly efficient when dealing with his enemies, yet completely different whenever the female lead is involved. What I enjoyed most was that his softer side never weakened his character. He remains intelligent, manipulative, and dangerous throughout the drama, but beneath that cold exterior is someone capable of loving with complete devotion. Watching those two sides constantly clash made him one of the most compelling parts of the series.
Cui Yi Liang was equally impressive. The female lead is far from a helpless heroine waiting to be rescued. She can fight, plan, deceive, and survive just as well as the male lead. Their relationship never feels one-sided because they're constantly matching each other's intelligence and determination. They challenge one another instead of simply protecting each other, which makes their partnership much more satisfying.
The chemistry between Han Dong Lin and Cui Yi Liang is honestly the drama's biggest strength. Whether they're fighting, arguing, sharing quiet moments, or staring at each other across a room, the tension is impossible to ignore. Their romantic scenes feel natural, but even ordinary conversations carry an intensity that makes you believe these two people are completely consumed by one another. The emotional and physical chemistry is equally convincing, turning every reunion and confrontation into something memorable.
For a mini-drama, the action is surprisingly solid. The fight scenes are energetic, the mafia atmosphere gives the story a darker edge, and the pacing rarely slows down. Every episode feels like it's pushing the story forward rather than filling time, making it incredibly easy to binge.
The romance is tragic from the beginning because both characters know that love is the one thing neither of them can afford. Revenge, loyalty, betrayal, and duty constantly pull them in opposite directions, forcing them to question whether trust is even possible in a world built on lies. That emotional conflict gives the drama more weight than its short runtime would suggest.
Is the story completely original? No.
Most of its ideas have appeared in other revenge romances before. But execution matters more than originality, and False Face and True Feelings executes those familiar ideas exceptionally well. Strong acting, sizzling chemistry, capable protagonists, fast pacing, and a romance built on danger make it an incredibly entertaining watch from beginning to end.
If you're looking for a mini-drama filled with assassins, spies, mafia politics, revenge, enemies-to-lovers romance, and two leads who are equally dangerous and equally obsessed with each other, False Face and True Feelings delivers exactly that. It's thrilling, emotional, surprisingly well-acted, and proof that sometimes great chemistry is enough to elevate even the most familiar story.

This completely exceeded my expectations! To be honest, I started watching it because I really liked the FL's hairclip, and I ended up enjoying it so much. I thought the actors were wonderful, and I was surprised to see that they hadn't been in more dramas. They have great chemistry! I love a strong female lead, and this one was great. Revenge dramas are obviously done a lot, but I liked how most of the secrets and deceptions are brought to light quickly. I'm a sucker for the whole second chance at love thing, so I loved how they met as children. I also really loved the music, and the songs have been stuck in my head ever since.
