ActingSuperb

I do not understand why some commenters are rude in ranting about their acting.
In fairness to both of the actors, this is their first lead roles-were the story evolve to both characters.
Acting. They have given justice to their roles, considering both have probably first time to be in love to the same sex. Their explorations to their relationship is somehow refreshing. Understanding each other, knowing what they are into. Not much kissing-sexing-skin exposure-- as we often see in BL dramas. This is REAL first timers.?❤️
Story. Probably there are some scenes that should be deleted or not to be included. But I still give AAA's to the writer and director.
Music. It's nakakaLSS. It's for you to find out.hahaha. But music scoring is great.
Goodluck to both of the actors!
I'm a Filipina and I love your BL drama!❤️❤️❤️

A cute sweet love story

I would say this drama is worth a watch! It’s just a cute sweet love story, although the plot threw me off a little. I was expecting Takara to be a bit meaner and colder at the beginning towards Taishin but actually I didn’t think he was… only a little. It’s a story between two people who are a little unsure and learning how to love each other. Taishin is definitely very innocent even at the end and I would also say Takara is slightly too, they are both learning how to love each other.

I also liked how there was no interruptions from any annoying characters, it was mainly focused on Takara and Taishin’s story, except from the creepy old man.

I actually would have preferred it if there was more episodes, maybe 12 or even 16. I felt like their relationship was beginning to develop but then it ended with 10 episodes. I saw there may be a spin off episode or two, so I’ll definitely be watching that!

A Story of Innocent Love & Longing

There’s something incredibly beautiful about finding the person who sees beyond the mask you wear to the needy heart beneath.

Adapted from the manga Takara no Vidro by Suzumaru Minta, the Japanese BL Takara’s Treasure tells the story of an innocent boy named Nakano Taishin (Konishi Eito), who follows a young man, Shiga Takara (Iwase Yoji), to university after Takara once helped him deal with the grief of losing his pet.

All while Taishin innocently and naively finds a way into Takara’s heart.

All in all, there is little action in the series outside of the emotional journey both of these characters take. They are a perfect balance of innocence and jadedness.

Cute/creepy, Laid-Back College Love Story

A cute, laid-back college love story about two seemingly different people. However, by the end, it becomes clear that they are more similar than they initially appear.

Character are: Takara - A senior who appears cold and closed-off, with few friends. However, he's insanely popular because of his looks.(I liked how Takara's backstory was presented. It did a great job of explaining his closed-off mindset and why he behaves the way he does). Taishin - A cute, always confused, naive, overly happy, easygoing, and somewhat creepy freshman.(we don't get much of Taishin backstory just mainly that he comes from a great family)

As the story progresses the similarities between them are the driving point of the story and it's obvious. Both Takara and Taishin are extreme overthinkers, constantly afraid of scaring each other away. They share a deep love for hiking, nature, and a tendency to be highly critical of themselves. Despite not being shown too obviously, they gradually understand and connect with each other because of them.

Now let's talk about the first official time they met, by far the strangest and, obviously, the creepiest part of the series. After their coincidental meeting in the mountains, where Taishin was grieving the loss of his beloved bird, Takara chose to stay and comfort him, offering a small life lesson: that he would be fine. This one encounter led Taishin to decide he needed to enroll in Takara's university, join his hiking club, and learn everything about him. To his defense, Taishin's character is supposed to be oblivious to almost everything, including how creepy his actions might seem. However, following someone so obsessively after just one conversation is a bit much, especially when he admits in front of his friend that he enrolled in his university just because of that brief interaction.

The ending feels a bit unfinished for my liking. I felt like something was missing. I still don't know if Taishin's family knows about their relationship, what happened with Takara's mother, or how their friends reacted to them being together. Their relationship didn't really develop either, they always seem a bit distant and scared of making the wrong move, which doesn't quite fit the idea of them constantly hanging out, having sleepovers, and always talking. I can't say there was any significant character development, either individually or together.

super cute

First of all I’ve already read the manga, so i was super excited for the live action, it was cute nothing much changed. the cast did so well to my opinion. And this is just a personal preference, but i wish something more happened.. for me it was too bland like i wish there was something more. and i felt like the ending was confusing, it felt like it should’ve more episodes but they decided to end it here… anyway it’s a series that you’ll whatch and be like “that was cute” and move on.

Repetitive

At first I though the first 4 episodes were cute but I got bored after that. Since it's Like only 10 episodes, they could've shown much more significant things rather than eating curry, the mom having an accident, the several walking lol, etc.

They could have delved deeper with Takara's past with his mom, like having a conclusion, something like that. The final episode had a lot of random scenes. They could have utilized those minutes for other more impactful scenes.

As for the characters, Japanese shows tend to have characters that are so timid and ignorant it's getting irritating. The actors were great though .

Overall, it's rewatchable if you're bored or you missed Iwase Yoji's visual.

Masterful acting

I think it's wonderful that Yamamoto Kaito, who plays Takara Hiroshi, is doing a fabulous job at portraying a character with such complexity. This type of role requires a delicate balance of awe and vulnerability, and he is executing it beautifully so far. The way Kaito brings out the nuanced layers of Hiroshi's personality is truly captivating. His performance is not just about delivering lines but embodying the essence of Hiroshi's struggles and triumphs.

From the very first episode, Kaito’s portrayal draws you in. He has a unique ability to convey a wide range of emotions through subtle expressions and body language, making Hiroshi a very relatable and engaging character. Whether it's a moment of quiet introspection or awe at his new surroundings, Kaito delivers each scene with authenticity and heart.

"Takara no Vidro" is blending of deep exploration of human relationships and the pursuit of dreams. Iwase Yoji as Shiga Takara also deserves praise for their strong performance, which complements Kaito’s role perfectly and enhances the overall narrative.

The cinematography and set design add another layer of beauty to the show. The visual elements are stunning, with meticulous attention to detail that immerses viewers in Takara’s world. The show's score is another highlight, providing an evocative backdrop that enhances the emotional impact of each scene.

Overall, "Takara no Vidro" is shaping up to be a standout series this season. Yamamoto Kaito’s portrayal of Takara Hiroshi is a key reason for the show’s success in my personal view, and I look forward to seeing how both characters evolve as the story unfolds. This series is definitely one to watch for anyone who appreciates a well-crafted BL's, narrative, and stellar acting performances.

Gonna hurry up without ending the show and say that's a really good show already

Pls remember English isn't my first language ☝️
First thing that I felt at the beginning was like !SPOILERS AHEAD! "Why did he came from his city to Tokyo just for him?" Like I was like maybe it's a kind of part of their culture, but not this time. Takara by himself said like "you came here to see me, so whats next you gonna do after thanking me?". And damn you're right, what he gonna do next. Like my personal opinion that love from first sight does not exist, you need time, but the movie production industry loves this trope so I can't say anything, cuz not me will be saying something about love. So, he said that he felt that he wanted to touch him, kiss and all that not heterosexual stuff and Takara was totally freaked out cuz who wouldn't. Like the person that you just calmed down came to this university to see you cuz you weren't careful of saying name of your university. But let me move forward, I'm gonna say I really felt the love, felt how the Takaras feelings appeared and developed and ofc the spark between them. No, Takara wasn't feeling love on their first camping, I think it's the glass earrings scene.
He realised how pretty was his eyes, just like the glass, so he felt the connection with him. He likes glass(childhood trauma) and he's literally the glass but alive. From other side we can see how Taishins feelings started to appear. He was just attracted to him firstly when he just calmed him down (like who wouldn't, he's super handsome and kind), but then he started to learn something about him (in his idol phrase) and absolutely fell for him, for his personality, how he's exactly the opposite of him. Also I think their acting is so natural, cuz I can see the smirks and little giggles that make their characters really alive. I wanted to say too that I firstly found Takaras behaviour a bit tricky like why he's being so harsh with him I thought that he just don't know how to approach him, but that's the part of his personality. That's all. Nothing complicated, that's how he acts and how he used too cuz of his trauma. He doesn't like small talks so he abandons them as soon as he sees the possible end of conversation. I could be wrong but that's how I see his behaviour. Also I really like the scene when Takara try to learn something about Taishins interests. So cute that he wants to approach him the same way as Taishin did. I left it for the final review, the kiss scenes. I really like them actually. Kiss in the 9th episode was so powerful and just bunched with feelings. I reaaaaaaally like how they sit and discuss everything of Takaras straightforwardness and Taishins cluelessity. I really find it healthy and good. So let's talk about their first kiss. I was like ???? when Takara kissed him, this was the least thing I expected his to do honestly. I'm like why with your forwardness you couldn't say straight "I love you too let's date ", and again, let's not forget that he's just kind of weird of his nature, so he picked the most convenient way for him to confess (????). Andddd y'all just watch Takaras gaze when he watching Taishin. He looks like he's crazy over him, that's true btw. Also the whole 9 ep for explaining Takaras feelings was perfect. Just what we exactly needed. Well let me end this cuz I will continue this to infinity.

Characters that Break Stereotypes

Besides what's already been said, I'd like to center this review on the characters themselves.

I hated My Weatherman and My Beautiful Man, and I've seen some comments comparing Takara No Vidro with these bls. Maybe it's because, on the surface, the relationship seems like a one-sided crush between a kind airhead and a stoic cool guy. But this can't be further from the truth in this case.

Takara is a relatable guy who isn't cold but instead straightforwardly speaks his mind. I thought he'd fall into the bully popular guy trope. But Takara is kind and isn't afraid to smile, laugh, and tell Taishin exactly what's on his mind. Credit to the actor because his subtle eye movement shows exactly what he's feeling.

Taishin is also a game-changer in that he speaks his mind right away and owns up to his feelings. This is refreshing considering that a frustrating pattern in BLs to keep the "suspense" going is to wait until the last second for MLs to communicate their true emotions. I just wish we could've seen more of his past and things that make him more personable.

This is an overall well-put-together bl. Takara and Taishin have worthwhile chemistry, great acting, and a comforting atmosphere.

IRRITATING LEAD!!

Since I watched this series upto last episode the story line and the lead takara is really cool! on their character... but i think the second lead Taishi is like a Stalker for him as we see in so many one sided inspired love stories on the first lead even in normal love series as well as in bl...This is somewhat like... i feel like his character is portrayed wrongly like a Stalker instead of an admired one...
(exple).....saying weird things on the first meet, stalking behind him on the second meet, calling for help on the third meet...starring at him wherever he sees him..this feels more like a Stalker than an admired one and we feel irritated on some points when he voluntarily starring at him...

He might even come for his love or for him on any case but for any kinda relationship we should be in some distance till they get close to us we should give them a proper privacy till they reciprocate their feelings to us. This is just my kinda suggestion like what I had in my mind while watching the series.

Cute

This series had so many things you could pick on but overall it was thank god drama free and just cute. I couldnt stop smiling the whole way through, because they were adorable.

Just turn your mind of and just smile, you will definitely feel happy after watching this ?

Also it was good because it had no cheating, no drama just two gorgeous guys finding their way.

Would love to know why most bl's have cheating in our country it is frowned upon.

Nice College Love story

I have a feeling someone would disagree but to each is their own.

Story wise: 9/10
Nothing in particular special about the story honestly. But the ones that got me hooked up on this drama are truly these two leads. One being nonchalant but caring at the same time. One being shy yet as persevering to get close to his senpai. I love their lovely cutesy interactions. I couldn’t asked for more.

Acting: 9.5/10
This drama don’t need no strong emotions honestly since it’s a lighthearted one -that makes it so pleasing to me. I feel like as I grow older I only wanted to watch comedy, lighthearted and no longer buy the angst kind of bad feeling -that keeps me on edge every time a certain villain shows up. I like the premise and the nuance of their acting. Just the right kind of vibe i’m looking for a mini series.

Music: 9.5/10
Music wise I have high regards when it comes to background musicality in every japan drama and this one never fails. It just match up the level of how a certain soundtrack should sound like for a certain series. Not too boring, not too overbearing but just the right kind of vibe.

Rewatch: 9/10
Personally, when it comes to rewatching a movie I am not really a fan of it. But on this one, just for me to feel the nostalgic scent again I could see myself watching this over and over. Their chemistry is truly on the jive. They’re just way too good for a pairing. Couldn’t ask for more.

Overall: 9.3/10

I am rating this 9.2 just because I like everything on it. They’re just too irresistible for me.
