Both of these are “romance” oriented series with one hearing and the other hard of hearing/deaf leads and their relationship.
Both of them deals with the ML who cannot hear. While in BCYD, its not shown in depth and the ML starts to communicate as soon as wearing hearing aid, HGK deals with more problems with the lapse of time.
- same-sex romance ( LGBTQ )
- the one of main lead is disable person
- they have some of angst w/ the family
- there's funny moments, sad moments, scaring moments, jealousy moments and sweet moments.
- there's the person who love the main lead but unfortunate for them ( support role )
- the vibe and the chemistry character are top notch, fantastic
The difference between them is just The Country and LGBTQ part. Hidamari ga Kikoeru is Japanese BL & Pluto is Thailand GL.

Whoa, I can't believe someone hasn't made this recommendation. Anyway, both are romance dramas involving a main lead who had experienced hearing loss. Both dramas portrayed how an acquired hearing loss affects not just one's day-to-day life but also relationships and their preference to communicate.
A series that has marked the history of JDramas: an incredible star-studded cast that put together five of the most famous young actors of that time; an emotional and enthralling plot; bonds that matter: friends, lovers, families.
Plot: a once-promising violinist becomes deaf, a young boy tries to help her during everyday life, they fall in love... but there are ups&downs and obstacles.
A must-watch for any drama lover.

It' school based and love-dovey with slow burn. They give me cutie-vibes with their chemistry. They have the same problem which is lack of communication & not knowing they inlove with each other. The story is flat but in a good way ( *flat means there's no major problem or problem that change all situation )
