THIS is the GL I want!!
I don't think I can put into words how incredible this show is. A tense, drama-filled plot mixed with a fantastic romance, all tied together with some of the best directing and cinematography I've ever seen in a Thai show. Just. WOW. This show had me locked in from start to finish. I love a show where the romance isn't the only plot, and the drama and conflicts in this show outside of the romance really drew me in.Bell is celebrating finishing college with her boyfriend and his friends at some club her boyfriend wanted to go to. Though it's not quite her scene, she tries to have fun. When the cops show up, Bell tries to find the car keys in her purse and instead finds drugs that aren't hers - but when the cops catch her throwing them in the trash, there's no way she can talk herself out of it (not to mention, her boyfriend is clearly not going to help her). Once in prison, she quickly learns the social hierarchy there: her and her cellmate Kae keep away from top dog Dao and her sisters, and Bell's told very clearly to avoid the murderer Claire, known as "rabid dog," at all costs. But when Bell gets in trouble with Dao's crew, it's Claire that ends up helping her. Once a loner, Claire starts to taking a liking to Bell, and Bell seems to feel the same way. However, between Kae's jealousy, Dao and her sister's business, and power-hungry guards, having one person by your side is never quite enough to keep you safe.
This show delivered on EVERY front. The tension, the drama, the romance, EVERYTHING was great. Prison plots can go either way for me, but this one was so good every episode that I cannot recommend it enough. I feel like there are a lot of mid GLs, but this is NOT one of them. I loved the characters so much, and thought their story was so well done. If you're looking for a GL that is totally different and still hits every mark THIS IS IT!

A Masterclass in Emotion, Craft, and Storytelling
Clairebell is truly one of the best GL series ever made, and from the very first episode it’s clear how much care, intention, and love went into every aspect of its creation. The craftsmanship behind the filmmaking is remarkable, especially the cinematography, which is consistently breathtaking and used not just for beauty but to enhance the emotional weight of each scene. Every frame feels thoughtful and purposeful.What makes Clairebell stand out even more is its writing. Every character serves a meaningful role in the story, and each one is written with depth and complexity. The narrative takes time to help the audience understand why characters make the choices they do, which makes their journeys feel honest and deeply human. The presence of an intimacy coordinator also deserves recognition, as it results in some of the most respectful, emotional, and well-executed love scenes I’ve seen, adding authenticity rather than distraction.
Finally, the ending scenes of each episode are unforgettable. Simple yet powerful, they carry immense emotional weight and left me in tears week after week. Clairebell is a beautifully made series that resonates long after the screen fades to black.

The Best GL!!!
This is genuinely the best GL I've ever seen. The story is different and compelling, and the acting is phenomenal. My attention span isn't the best, so I tend to feel a little bored when watching the first few episodes or the middle episodes of a show. With Clairebell, I never felt bored. I ended up loving so many of these characters so deeply, empathizing with them and rooting for them the more I watched. The ending was satisfying and so, so, so touching. I love this pairing and I absolutely love this show with all my heart!There are some things that could have been better. Bell seemingly moved on from her father's death too quickly, and same for Claire with Pon. Maybe this was due to such a short season, but I think there could have been a few moments to show how grief continues to creep up on you. Some people also critiqued how quickly Claire and Bell got together. In my opinion, I think this makes sense since they are in a prison. Of course I don't know what that sort of life would be like, but I can imagine trauma bonding is common between women in prison and also the fact there is no one else to hang out with besides each other. We live in a different pace and life on the outside and have different responsibilities than them. It made sense for me at least, so I don't care for that critique as much.
Overall, an amazing show! I still give it 10/10 because it touched me so deeply, and I believe everyone involved in this series gave it their all - the writers, directors, actors. etc. I thank the creators of this show tenfold for bringing such a gem to queer media.

Where Love Meets Crime
Clairebell breaks new ground as one of the first crime-focused GL series adapted from a novel, and it absolutely delivers on that promise. Instead of following the usual romance-driven formula, it weaves love into a gripping narrative filled with mystery, tension, and high-stakes moments—making it feel fresh and unpredictable.What truly elevates the series is the cast. Their performances are nothing short of exceptional—raw, intense, and at times jaw-dropping. The emotional weight they bring to each scene makes the story hit harder, especially as the lines between love, trust, and danger begin to blur.
Overall, Clairebell is a standout in the GL genre. It’s bold, unique, and proves that GL storytelling can go far beyond romance—into something darker, deeper, and unforgettable.

This was a beautiful watch
I actually think this whole series was pretty perfect. With a .5 deduction on my rating because I felt cringed out with how easily the girls bled after one punch. But that's just me nitpicking, it's not a big deal. It took me a bit to finish this since there were times where I felt like I needed to take breaks for some episodes because I felt anxious on what could possibly happen next, but not in a bad way. absolute cinema
Clariebell is one of those series that really hooks you from the start. The opening scenes are intense, and you find yourself completely invested in the characters and their stories. The cinematography is stunning – every shot feels so carefully planned, and the atmosphere it creates pulls you right in. Even during the more romantic, lighter moments, there’s still this undercurrent of tension that keeps you on edge. The show can get pretty brutal at times, especially with the violence and some of the darker themes, but it feels real and raw. I’ll admit, some of the emotional moments hit harder than others, and the stakes feel so high throughout, which kept me glued to the screen. It’s one of those shows that leaves you thinking long after you’ve finished watching. Clariebell really stands out in the GL genre for its depth, stunning visuals, and the way it makes you connect with the characters on a deeper level. MUST WATCH ITS SO AMAZING!
I don't find myself watching gl's too often but this one was genuinely so great. From the music to the acting it was so good. The prison setting was amazing along with all the characters. I love how it was a healthy relationship with them comforting eachother throughout the story and the fights never lasted long. Especially the part where Bell waited those 3 years until she could be with Claire out of prison and free. I watched the after story and even though the episodes were short I still loved it all. The side characters were amazing too and they contributed so much to the story. I don't really rewatch things but some dramas are so amazing that I do and this is one of them.I really do recommend this because it's so sweet!

Okay Mine Media… we see you. ClaireBell came swinging in with the production flex of the year, and honestly? We weren’t ready. We went in hesitant—prison dramas aren’t usually our jam—but if we survived #OITNB for Laura Prepon’s sapphic energy, we could absolutely give a pure GL series a shot. And right out of the gate, the tone, pacing, and thematic grit gave us serious #OITNB flashbacks, which initially made it tough to fully invest.
But as the story progressed, everything leveled up—the visuals, the tension, the emotional beats—and suddenly we were watching a Thai GL drama that felt Western-tier in all the best ways.
Hooks? In. Us? Caught.
Production Quality: Mine Media Sets a New Bar
Thai GLs often struggle with production consistency—editing quirks, odd wardrobe choices, lighting mishaps, questionable sets. ClaireBell said “not on our watch.” Mine Media building an entire prison set from scratch? That’s a flex, and it pays off.
The opening theme, cinematic tones, and overall polish elevate the story before the acting even arrives. For a first GL project, this was an industry statement.
Acting Talent & Storytelling: A Perfectly Woven Ensemble
The cast is an absolute jackpot. The mix of veteran performers and fresh faces is so seamless you can’t tell who’s new. Each character has purpose, each arc connects, and the balance between the main couple, the prison drama, and the supporting cast is surprisingly tight.
Nothing feels messy or overcrowded—just a well-built ensemble driving a compelling sapphic narrative.
Our only caveat? With just eight episodes of very strong material, a few moments felt slightly rushed, but never enough to pull us out of the story.
Themes & Representation: A Rarely Explored Lane in Thai GL
Let’s talk ambition. This series dives headfirst into: prison systems, drugs, corruption, adultery, abortion, rape, violence, survival, and power dynamics. Not exactly the standard Thai GL toolkit. Pair that with a gritty sapphic romance, and suddenly we’re in rare, atypical territory.
This series doesn’t just break the mold; it sets it on fire and rebuilds a new one.
This thematic depth gives us representation we don’t usually see in the Thai GL space—women in dangerous, complex environments, portrayed as fully realized queer characters with agency. Mine Media went there, and they handled these topics with nuance, care, and precision.

That was an intense watch
This is one of the few times I liked the side characters as much as the main characters.Porsche actually followed the rules and actually did his job as a guard properly.Maybe he will get to meet his younger half-brother. I did feel like he caught feelings for DeeDee.
DeeDee showed she was just as insecure as everyone else and felt she had few people in her corner. I truly did love her friendship with Porsche.
Kae was truly a villain, the type that says that "If I can't have you, no one can." She was truly lonely and had no one to talk to, so when Bell stopped interacting with her, she was vulnerable and craved power to prevent the feelings only for them to get worse. The power did get to head head, though, and really did make her corrupt. I feel like she didn't fall in love with Bell, though, and latched on to the only person who gave her attention.
Daon is one of the most complicated people in the drama. She and Wichan I do believe that they were using each other for power in different ways. Wichan was using her sex release and a stress releaser, and she used him to be in charge of all the inmates so no one messed with her or her siblings. I have no knowledge of this, but wouldn't her son be placed with family while she was an inmate, and if they never took him in, he would've been placed in foster care until her release.
Bell the one where she was innocent and at first thought her boyfriend was caring at the fact he wanted her to get out of prison only for him to feel guilty as it was his drugs and his friend was only trying to protect him. I'm glad he got what was coming for him.
Claire, the one who wanted to protect her sister, even if it meant taking the fall for her and giving up her freedom. She built the persona 'rabid dog' and built her walls so no one would see her vulnerable leaving her alone.

Game Changer
I don't know from where to start. Acting, chemistry, cinematography, visuals EVERYTHING was ON TOP! This show is truly a SOTY (series of the year) material and good to see Mine Media kinda the footsteps of Be On Cloud by casting rookies and A listed actors with phenomenal acting. Tysm davika and ter for making such a masterpiece series. Hope to see blejie and others in other projects.And I'm EXTREMELY PROUD of thai gl as well as Mine Media for making something different which is like "not your typical GL."

awesome production!
finally after petrichor, a Thai GL series that is not just about zooming in on the main couple + many unwanted kissing scenes but the developement of all other characters in the series which I absolutely love. been watching too many similar GL series with the same plot and the company just wanting to ship the couple, but ClaireBell is so much different. I like how this series is being shot, the colours, the OST, the music and the story development of the villain in this drama. the actress who acted as Kae- can we just give her an acting award already? Good storyline
When I first watched the series, I made sure to listen to the intro music, and it's really unique. I was invested in the intro, which is why I continued to finish the episodes. I thought I would be seeing cliché high school stories, but the storyline is top-tier. I love the arrangement and how they built up the character of each main lead per episode. Specifically, I love how Bell ended up in the final episodes. I was hesitant about how her character would evolve because I found her to be someone with a weak personality who was always dependent on someone else.
