It has several big narrative failures, but oh my god it has so many brilliant scenes..
If we want to be real, then there is really a lot to criticize here. Sure this is fiction, but the prison depicted here is unreal even for a very far removed parallel universe. I guess I should be more forgiving, since it's just an unusual setting, I've seen worse in my drama history. Though I have to say it's not just that prison life is unrealistic or poorly researched, but also many aspects of it are only shown at a very surface level.Ultimately the leads have incredible chemistry & their emotional -non fan service- scenes are incredible. The drama basically doesn't have an OST, there is only one piano melody with multiple variations, but oh man, every scene that has that track on is fantastic. Portrayed emotion wise this show matches up against some of the best Korean dramas, such as Tangerines, Goblin, Reply 88 quite well.
Some extraordinarily talented folks worked on this show. Outside of some writing woes -see below- pretty much every aspect of the show is top tier. The cinematographer is a genius. I literally cannot name an Asian drama that matches up to the photography excellence that can be seen here. Like Goblin is visually more impressive, but it's mostly set design, not photography, seriously I'm super impressed. The acting effort from everyone -including pretty much the whole supporting cast- is also super good.
So in the headline I mentioned narrative failures. The big one is that the dating starts out of nowhere, it's like a flipped switch. I understand that sometimes horny adults can hook up after just 5 minutes, but the dialog immediately shifts to implying the strongest of bonds. Then various characters in the show stop behaving like themselves from one episode to another. Dee???
Of course I cannot even shit on the writer here properly, since the dialog in some of the scenes is ridiculously good. There are so many great conversations, such as the one about aliens and or posing..
Considering the subject matter it's hard to not mention Orange is the New Black. It's clear to me that the writer has seen that shows & took inspiration from it. However everything from the plot that gives this show value is totally different from Orange & conversely the strongest points of of the American shows are either missing or muted here.
I watched the full cut version, so there were many sex scenes. This is my 3rd Thai GL so far & sex is for sure the worst here. It's not just over abundant with too long scenes, but the graphical depictions were sad. Implying and not showing or blurring out is better than whatever this was. Soft porn might be required to make a GL a financial success. I can accept that, all I'm saying is that this is really really awful at that. Not that I mind too much, I'm perfectly capable of using the FF button & I'm not the target audience for this and has not impacted my opinion of this drama much.
Rating this is difficult, because I know objectively the flaws are very significant, but at the same everything else is 10/10. This is surely the most interesting Thai drama I have ever seen. (and I have dropped & then not reviewed at least 10 lakorns) For sure it's been a very memorable experience & I can totally see myself coming back to it eventually.

Making HISTORY in GL!!!!
I'm 1000% sure this series will be my fav GL of the year (maybe even of all time)...Once you watch the first few seconds, you'll immediately see the gorgeous cinematography, acting, character writing, and high production value. It's very obvious all the care and thought the team put into every scene. And it's also super well-executed and interesting that we're getting a GL that takes place in a PRISON!!! BL, you better take notes.
Something I've been missing from most shows in general is characters that make me want to know their life stories. Usually, there's a boring lore dump out of nowhere and that's that. But here, I'm genuinely interested in everyone's stories and why they ended up in prison, even the supporting characters.
Quick rapidfire if you're still on the fence about watching: mysteries that pull you in, amazing sound design and color-grading, writing is amazing, off the charts chemistry, and believable and gritty fight scenes.

Top GL Series!!
This GL series is in my opinion the best GL series ever made in GL history. I have watched most of the GL series out their and all of them are amazing but this show has exceeded all of my expectations on GL shows. Everything about this series was incredible to the acting, storyline, character development, cinematography etc. I really want to give props to this story as it isn't just another haters to lovers story or childhood best friends fall in love this was a never before GL story and it showed real world scenarios. another thing is the actors in this series are all flawless, Mabel and Pangjie have undeniable, and all the other actresses/actors played a huge role through this series that it made it not feel like just about the main characters but I felt also invested into the other characters story development all and they all did an incredible job. I would love for a season 2 and get to see Claire and Bell's story develop even more because these two characters are just so incredibly brought into screen.Was this review helpful to you?

Trully one of the best, if not the best, GL of 2025. Thank you Davikah for this banger. Every episode was a 10/10, captiving. For her first drama, all alone, she did really great. I hope she can do it again!!
Every scene was a piece of art. I loved the story. Every character was interessting (even the bad one, or the one I disliked).
The relation between Claire and Cream was really the most beautiful, how she did everything for her sister.
Claire was beautiful. The actress play perfectly a cold sociopath (even though, she isn't really a sociopath, and it's only to protect herself. But she did well).
It's a good way to remember, men are trash.

this is my first gl and wow I think that nothing will top this level, it was SO good since the first episode, the visuals are beautiful, the actress are amazing, the chemistry between the protagonist is so good, they had my crying like I just went for my fifth divorce.I think the only problem that I have is the duration of the series. I wish it was longer so we could know more about the other characters that are also really interesting like the 3D, Natty, Kae, etc. but everything else is great.
I love how they also represent the love scenes showing caring and sweetness. the beautiful scene when it's just the two of them and like nothing else matters.

At its core, this is a character-driven series. Claire’s journey is shaped by trauma, survival, and sacrifice, and the writing consistently reinforces how prison has altered the course of her life. Her bond with Auntie Pa’Forn adds unexpected depth, and a surprising tenderness, revealing a gentler side of Claire early in the series, giving her emotional depth beyond the survival mode of that is the “Rabid Dog”.
Bell’s arc is quieter but no less important, shaped by straightforward honesty and emotional endurance. “Claire and Bell meet in a place no one enters by choice: prison.”Wow. This was my first fully focused Thai GL, and I watched it in one sitting because it was that good.
I was truly impressed and invested in the execution of the series! The production quality is outstanding. The long shots, the script, the intimacy, and the soundtrack are all so well-crafted that they draw the viewer in.
The plot is quite simple, mainly centred around the prison setting and the daily lives of the prisoners and prison guards. I thought the drama and suspense were effectively incorporated into the script. Key scenes, such as the reveal of Claire’s motive, Top’s betrayal, Bell’s feelings, Kae’s quest for vengeance, and Dao’s master plan, were all well-executed and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the drama.
Regarding the characters, I found Claire and Bell to be straightforward yet interesting. Both have clear arcs in the story, and Mable and Pangjie performed their roles incredibly well. The character that surprised me was Kae; Belle, the actress, had such expressive facial expressions that I was constantly questioning her true nature and the role she would play in relation to our main leads.
Overall, the execution of this drama was excellent. It’s honestly a must-watch!

PURE CINEMA
If you wanna watch a serie with the style of romance and prison THIS IS THE ONE!!!! The context of wlw and prison life in one serie is just amazing, the actors impressed me how they played so well for one of their first series they made together and made them have a deeper connection with eachother. The serie is sad but also sweet and exciting by each episode so if you want to watch something that's gonna make you have mixed emotions this is the best option for you. I like the story, the twist, the tense and all the characters in this series.Main leads both Claire and Bell were the star of the stage.
They really did well especially Claire, the dark side of her with a pure heart to protect person she cares for.
The clumsy Bell tried to survive in a wolf's den.
Kae, weak but dare.
3D the sisters
and not to say the sad and heart wrenching Grandma Porn.
The story really developed and made me can't stop watching.

THE BEST THAI GL SERIES
This is easily one of the best Thai girls’ love series out there. ClaireBell explores themes such as drugs, abuse, abuse of power, and conflicts within a women’s prison. Everything is portrayed respectfully and with proper context from beginning to end, making it a highly recommended GL for women and for people who enjoy more mature and sensitive topics. I honestly have no regrets about watching it.The casting was also a very important factor in the series’ performance, bringing together experienced actresses and incredibly talented and dedicated new actresses. The entire ClaireBell production team deserves recognition for the effort they put into the quality of this series!!
