fantastic GIMMIE 14

my toes were curled, my butt was clenched, my teeth were chattering, my hand was over my mouth, I was gagging and looking away, I was crying then laughing then crying again, idk what was going on at times but that’s okay cause i rarely know what’s going on normally anyway, the cinematic aspect of it all was just one reason why i would re watch it for all the good bumps and tears it brought to my eyes at time, the cgi was amazing like again GAGGING at times for some of the scenes. all in all fantastic gimme 14.

ps WHAT WAS THAT ENEDING?!?

Do you like blood?

Here’s my review of this new drama that just came out:

Personally, I had never seen a drama that puts self-harm and suicide so front and center. I think this drama isn’t for everyone.

First, the story:

I found the story good overall, but a bit messy on one point. Yes, the girl commits suicide on the app and curses everyone who uses it. On that aspect, I thought the development was a bit strange. How do you curse an app? Sure, she’s a shaman, but they could have shown how she performed the ritual or something. Just saying “the app is cursed because of the suicide” feels a bit too easy and lacks real depth.

At the very beginning of the series, we see her suicide scene and the app is immediately cursed. Then the main story unfolds, and only at the end do we finally understand why the app was cursed (thanks to the scenes revealed at the end). I think it would have been better for the viewers if the full intrigue had been introduced right from the start. That way, we would immediately understand how and why the app was cursed, by who, and for what reason all while following the high school students who discover the “cursed” app, what happens to them, and how they try to escape it. Then, at the end, we could reach the same final scene where she has to destroy the phones to stop everything.

That’s my feeling about how the series handled the main theme of the story. In short: they should have shown all the scenes about the girl’s suicide and the curse right at the beginning instead of revealing them only at the end.

Now, about the actors and their performances:

Honestly, nothing to criticize here. I thought all the characters were well cast and played their roles convincingly. Especially Na-ri at the end she really surprised me. I didn’t expect her to act that well!

The OSTs are good, but they didn’t particularly impress or surprise me.

The visuals the blood, the appearances, and the “ghosts” are very well done!

In short, it’s a good series and I recommend it, but if you’re sensitive to blood or suicide themes, don’t watch it!

The fantasy element initially reminded me of a famous American author. In The Dark Tower saga, whenever magic offers something, it's always in exchange for something else, something absolutely terrible and devastating. The really nasty conversation that the first boy overhears when he shouldn't have, and which destroys him emotionally, is what the pink ball does in book 4. (It might just be my favourite book series, so don't mind me.) I wouldn't be surprised if the initial idea for the script came from that and Needful Things.

There's a parallel between the pills people take to get through their studies, to stay awake and focused, doping in sports, and this app. King showed how the 1980s in America had put a price on everything, on dignity, on life, and that nothing can ever be free in that world. That's exactly what If Wishes Could Kill does. At least, at first. Starting with episode 2, it takes a different turn and partially abandons the social critique aspect.

People start acting a little crazy, but they're teenagers, so we cut them some slack. Of course, a shaman and her sidekick have the solution. The series chooses to go back to the origin of the curse rather than just explore its consequences and the social subtext that comes with them. We might think it's going to be a total mess ! Well, not really. Its actually pretty cool. Even a little funny at times.Yeah, really.

So, paradoxically, it ends up as a story stripped of its fantastical elements. It abandons them to focus exclusively on friendship, on misunderstanding and lies.

Jeon So-young acts far better than her young co-stars. It's quite striking to see the effort she puts into her lines compared to the others. She's head and shoulders above them.

Anything involving the eyes... I just can't handle it ! It terrifies me.

IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. i needed to get it done in one sitting because of how intense it was. NO ACTING HOLES. NO PLOT HOLES. PERFECT. to think that nugu actors did amazing performances. I really enjoyed If Wishes Could Kill

I really enjoyed *If Wishes Could Kill*

If you're looking for a drama that keeps moving and gives you plenty to think about, I'd definitely recommend it. The story stays engaging throughout, with enough twists and surprises to keep me wanting to watch the next episode 👀

What I liked most was that, despite the pace, the characters still felt believable and I found myself becoming invested in what happened to them. There were several moments that genuinely caught me off guard 😲, and I liked that the drama balanced suspense, emotion and relationships without getting bogged down.

The cast did a great job bringing the characters to life, and I was never bored. By the end, I was completely hooked and finished it much faster than I'd planned!

Definitely one of those dramas where "just one more episode" turns into three! ❤️

logic out of the window

I'm disappointed in this drama, from the trailer and first eps it was super interesting but then it went downhill. You'd think with all the deaths happening that at least the police got involved but apparently not, cause how are they entering areas where supposedly a person passed away but the crime scene looks untouched, like you'd think if the police got involved some sort of cleaning would occur? or they'd take the phones into evidence or anything at all, but no the crime scenes look virtually untouched except of the missing bodies, like was the police involved and why are 4 kids the only ones affected by this phenomenon app considering its suppose to be a viral app?, like did it not reach the news or the rest of the country or whats going on, i genuinely don't get this show, and the ending sucked too, like when they reveal the big "whh the curse got made" youd think it would be something super serious and insane and harsh and not something dumb like she revealed my crush to the school, super disappointed considering how promising the plot was.

Level of graphical violence in this drama.

I liked the drama overall. The character of Haetsal / Kang Ha Yeong was portrayed outstandingly by Jeon So Nee. The way she reacted to the attacks and her expression were so on point. At some point i felt Yoo Se A was annoying for acting on her own in many things, like not listning to Bang U when in the house. Kang Mi Na gave life to the characterof nari, i hate her charactersoo much like how can you discriminate your friends, even if you have a love interest, you should listen to your other friends. Hyeong Uk being the typical high school student who will do ant thing to obtain good marks to the point to risk his own life, and using unknown app is a good start. Kwon Si Won the eltimate defination of evil! i found Do Hye Ryeong as a flexible character. anyways she was inocent until she decide to wish for others to die, but she had her reasons so its ok. its a good drama totally recommended but if you cannot take self-harm it's not for you. this drama includes eye cutting, parasites, ghosts, throat cutting, blood everywhere.

Starts Very Well

Okay. First of all, it's not 10 out of 10. And I am only on episode 3.

However, I always give generous ratings to good stuff and I don't understand people giving low ratings because it's not to their taste. Drama doesn't mislead you. It's a eerie, horror, teenage drama from the start. And it is executed very well.

I got chills. I am intrigued. Even though the concept is not a brand new thing, I highly enjoy it.

If you are not a horror fan, of course you are not going to like this. If you are going in thinking everything has to be so rational and realistic... maybe supernatural horror is not for you.

I watched a lot of horror movies and tv series, and I can confidently say: this is good.

I will revise my review after I finish the show. But until now:

- script is good. I am intrigued, curious, and slightly scared. That's all I wanted from this show.
-directing is good.
-actors are really good. They are new to me. I only know the guy from Cheer Up. But I like them all so far.

If you like horror and kdramas, give it a chance.

Watch Pyramid Game (2024) Instead

Starts with 2 banger episodes. The performances are solid, but the writing undermines them, characters feel underdeveloped, making it hard to connect with their emotions or motivations. Major events lack impact because the story rarely slows down to build depth.

The plot quickly spirals into illogical territory.
What begins as tense and unsettling soon turns absurd, losing its grip by the mid-episodes.

If you want a similar concept done right, watch Pyramid Game (2024), far more engaging and brilliantly executed.

Espectacular ?
