Why I dont pay too much attention to reviews
I am glad I chose to watch this series even though the reviews weren't great. I thoroughly enjoyed this series.Was it the best? By no means. Was there way too much miscommunication? Yupppppp. And I agree where a couple reviews mentioned the flashbacks. Yes, they were annoying.
But all in all, I just enjoyed it for what it was. I thought the production was good, the acting was good, and I liked the story. Personally, im so used to the miscommunication plot angle I barely let it bother me anymore. Every drama i watch could be over in 2 episodes if there was communication. Im glad it was 8 episodes. Anymore and it would have bothered me and ruined the series.
I know everyone has an opinion and thats what makes it so great. My opinion is just give the series a chance. It might surprise you. 😊

HORRIBLE show
the main character Ba U treats treats Hun SO terribly and hurts him so much i wished Hun found another love interest!!!! NOT to mention the protagonist Hamin seems to ACT exactly like Hun and its horrifying… and i feel he does it on purpose… i feel they randomly threw this “stalker” in for no reason.. and hes just getting in the way of everything… this is absolutely one of the worst shows ive ever watched if you like being annoyed or stressed out watch this!!!!!!Was this review helpful to you?

You like me? No i don't, i ran away cuz i like you. So do you like me? No I dont. That was going on till the end. GEEZUS. I had to make an account BECAUSE it was frustrating and painful to watch. UNREQUITED LOVE
Hello! I have been currently watching this new ongoing series, caught me by the title itself "Something's Not Right." It immediately took me only seconds to start this series. At first, I was shoock after finding it that it only have 2 episodes, I assumed that maybe the durations contains a hours but after I click it, I received close to 30mins duration. It bothers me so I opened my safari and search the title. Then here I was "it's ongoing."I am really happy to share my insights about this K-BL series as I'm writing this, episode 1 really keep my self from waiting for the next episodes because I was really super duper related about the "unrequired love," what it makes more really curiousing to watch is that it's happened to Doo Ba Wu with his bestfriend Ji-Hoon. I'm not related with loving a one childhood friend but the title itself "Something's Not Right," really suits the story hehe. I am enjoying it while watching because I can learn from other perspective of what is "unrequited love" feels for them and how they manage to face with it.
So much to say, I really love this K-BL series even it's still ongoing and still haven't found out what is the ending. But, I trust this kind of series and much preferred than those other wild BL Series. Hehe, no hates! My type of BL to watch is those leads who facing backburner things or SLOW BURN, the story making it more intense for me.
I hope this series will achieve a highest rate and for those watchers out there, I hope you all give chances for this loveable kind of story to watch and from me, I highly recommend this! <33
And please for the director and writer, I hope you still give this a following seasons because eight episodes and 30mins duration is not enough for someone like me and I assure for others too! No negative stuffs, only improvement!

I feel bad for the actors
This show remind me of the old BLs when we didn't care that much about the depth of the story and we didn't have much BL to watch.Nowadays we have a lot of option and big companies who provide content with strong storytelling, visual, music.... But for low budget series I personnaly think that the focus must be on storytelling and acting. We have three actors who work hard to sell a story that wasn't that good. The main idea was great but the development of the story could've been way better. It was a let down.

Cute Korean Love Story – But Haven’t We Seen This Before?
“Something’s Not Right” is a light Korean BL drama that tells the story of two high school students navigating their complicated feelings for each other. The series focuses on two boys, whose bond starts as friendship but slowly transforms into something deeper—though both are too scared to admit their feelings.The series is cute and has a cozy, feel-good vibe that many viewers will appreciate BUT, the pacing is a major issue. The story feels dragged out unnecessarily, with long stretches where absolutely nothing progresses. It is incredible repetitive —after a few episodes, it feels like you’re watching the same misunderstandings play out over and over again.
The biggest frustration is the lack of communication between the main characters. Episode after episode relies on the same formula: they like each other, they misunderstand each other, they avoid talking, and then repeat. It’s not just frustrating—it’s exhausting. It’s a shame because both actors do a decent job with the material they’re given, and the production quality is actually quite solid for a web drama.
The emotional stakes are low, and the tension barely changes throughout. Instead of building toward a satisfying climax, the show spins in circles. That said, there are moments of charm—some of the side characters are likable, and the soundtrack is pleasantly mellow. Fans of soft, slow-burn romances might find something to enjoy here. But for many viewers, especially those who’ve seen other recent BL dramas, “Something’s Not Right” doesn’t offer anything new. With so many similar dramas released lately, this one blends into the background. Cute? Yes. Memorable? No.

Yeah no, this is not right.
Sadly I‘ve got to agree with other negative reviews. This is not a good drama. The whole plot revolves around one person refusing to communicate. And another person sort of trying but also sort of refusing. They could’ve kept this up for like 4 episodes and then resolved the issue and continued with something different. But it just went on and on for 8 daunting episodes. I finished because the actors were cute.No side character added anything meaningful to this already very meaningless series…
I would not watch again. And I also don’t think anyone needs to waste their time doing so. Maybe if you‘re just really really bored and need something to play in the background while knitting or something…

Unrequited love with a lot of miscommunication issues : deeply flawed but I liked it...
Usually I'm not a big fan of clueless characters and of miscommunication issues...Here though, despite its many many flaws, I quite enjoyed this series. Could it have been better ? Certainly. Did I like my experience watching the drama ? Yes.The writer took a beloved trope of mine : "friends-to-lovers", and mixed it with another painfully enjoyable one "unrequited love". This mix is an enticing one to me, pretty fitting for my angsty preference in terms of romance. Unfortunately, the writing never managed to really hit the mark with its storytelling. There were so many missed opportunities in terms of narrative arcs, as the writer seemed to not know what to do and kept the characters stuck in the same place for most of the series.
In addition to featuring beloved tropes, the drama made me discover Jung Je Hyeon who played Ji Hun, one of the main three characters. It was his debut role and he is clearly the main reason I enjoyed that much a series that otherwise could have made me mad of frustration. Here, I was fully onboard, even with the character being seemingly pretty obtuse. He played him in a smart and layered way, and I'm very curious to see what's next for this actor.
The biggest flaws of the series to me was not even the lacking writing but the bad and very repetitive editing. There were so many repetition of scenes. The production crew seem to think that the viewer had a goldfish memory, making them repeat ad nauseam the exact same filmed sequences already showed in previous episodes. It is a shame because a series of 8 episodes of about 25 minutes does not require that many flashbacks and repetition in the editing. Using the episode time better, either by developing more the characters, or just adding angst / fluff / jealousy, would definitely have been a wiser choice.
I would recommend this series to people that enjoy unrequited love stories and that have a high tolerance for communication issue and painful unnecessary longing. I honestly enjoyed myself quite a bit despite the big writing and editing issues thanks to the beloved central tropes of the story and my fondness for one of the character.

Do Ba U Character is Insufferable
As title suggests nothing was right about the series. Though actors were impressive in ep 1 , it went quite flat with no improvement in the story or character. Really tested my patience especially Do Ba U character. I wouldn't suggest this series even for timepass. Lethargic writing is so visible throughout the show.Was this review helpful to you?
Something's Not Right — A Good Drama That Made the Mistake of Sharing a Name with the Webtoon
I think Something's Not Right received more criticism than it actually deserved. After finishing it, I understood why so many readers of the original webtoon were disappointed. If you're expecting a faithful adaptation, you'll probably spend every episode comparing what was changed, removed, or simplified. But once I accepted that the drama wasn't trying to recreate the webtoon scene for scene, I found myself enjoying it for what it actually is: a gentle, well-acted Korean BL that keeps the heart of the original story while taking a very different path to reach it.That distinction is important.
This isn't the webtoon brought to life.
It's a reinterpretation.
Many of the character dynamics are softened, several situations are rewritten, and the emotional progression feels noticeably different from the source material. I completely understand why long-time readers struggled with those decisions because some of the emotional intensity that made the webtoon memorable is inevitably lost. At the same time, I don't think changing an adaptation automatically makes it bad. The central emotional line remains intact, and despite all the differences, I still recognised the story I had originally enjoyed.
The acting helped me accept those changes far more easily. The two leads have a comfortable, natural chemistry that never feels forced, and their performances fit the quieter tone the drama is aiming for. Rather than relying on dramatic confrontations, they communicate through small gestures, awkward silences, and gradual emotional growth. It's a very Korean approach to romance, and in this case, I think it works. Neither actor tries to overplay the emotions, making the relationship feel believable even when the script occasionally moves too quickly through important developments.
One aspect I particularly appreciated is that the drama never becomes unnecessarily melodramatic. Instead of constantly searching for bigger conflicts, it stays focused on the characters' feelings and allows the relationship to evolve at its own pace. That slower rhythm won't appeal to everyone, but I found it refreshing compared to series that rely on endless misunderstandings simply to create drama.
Visually, the production is exactly what I've come to expect from Korean BL. The cinematography is clean, the soundtrack quietly supports the atmosphere without dominating it, and the direction knows when to let silence carry a scene. Nothing feels flashy, yet everything feels carefully considered. It's a simple production that understands simplicity can be one of its greatest strengths.
I honestly believe many viewers judged the series less as a drama and more as an adaptation. Those are two different conversations. As an adaptation, I understand many of the criticisms because it takes significant liberties with the source material. As a standalone drama, however, I think it's considerably better than its reputation suggests. Once I stopped expecting the webtoon and started judging what was actually on screen, I found a series that was consistently enjoyable from beginning to end.
Final Thought
Something's Not Right may disappoint readers looking for a faithful adaptation, but I don't think that automatically makes it a bad drama. It keeps the emotional foundation of the original while choosing its own direction, and thanks to solid performances and a sincere romance, it succeeds more often than it fails. Sometimes the best way to enjoy an adaptation is to stop comparing it to its source—and that's exactly what happened here.

Something Got Lost Along the Way
It feels like this series showed good potential at the start but lost its way somewhere along the line. The story had potential, but as it went on, things just got messy. Some scenes were confusing, and the editing didn’t do much to help. One thing that stood out, though, was Choi Min Ho’s face, the camera really loves him. Miscommunication over good plot, why can't people just talk with each other
I will divide this into two because I feel like I need to get this out. First, I found myself struggling to fully appreciate this story because it gave me such a banging headache from all that miscommunication that happens between those two. Initially when I saw this come on my viki I wanted to watch it bc it sounded interesting with the plot of fake dating turned real somewhere along the way. HOWEVER; the plot is quite standard, revolving around a typical secret crush on a best friend, but it’s marred by a level of frustration that makes you want to reach through the screen and slap people half the time due to the frustration. Despite its predictable storyline, there were certainly moments that were cute and genuinely funny, which provided some relief amidst my dying irritation.As for the characters, the first male lead (Ba Woo) was actually quite endearing at times, and I found myself rooting for him throughout. The other main lead (Ji Hun), on the other hand, was just… there. He didn't bring much to the table and often felt overshadowed by the other characters that they tried to push.
So, overall, if you're planning on watching this one maybe don’t set your expectations too high when it comes to their storyline. Overall, while the show had its merits, the frustrations I experienced definitely dampened my enjoyment of it.
