Strong Start

strong start. hoping it keeps it up. i’m definitely team CEO . as a very mature STAY, I can relate to wanting to meet your idol anyway you can. I also really appreciate the male leads. the Idol is an actor who has stood out in other shows like study group. i’ll add more later. la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la la

My Heart Is Already Gone ?

I just finished the first two episodes, and what do you mean this drama has only 12 episodes?! 😭 I'm already completely in love with it.

I love the CEO. I love the female lead. I even love the idol. The casting is perfect, the chemistry is amazing, and every scene has me smiling like an idiot.

But if I'm being honest... deep down I'm desperately waiting for her to fall in love with the CEO already! 🥹 Their moments together give me so many butterflies, and I hope this drama keeps my heart fluttering from start to finish.

Please don't disappoint me—this has all the potential to become one of my favorite K-dramas. ❤️

A Very Good Rom-Com

A very good start for this drama; so far it has a lot of potential. The main couple has great chemistry, and the dynamics at work also look promising. I hope it continues at this pace and doesn't focus too much on the love triangle. The comedic situations made me laugh. My expectations are high, especially after my disappointment with See You At Work Tomorrow, but I hope I continue to enjoy it.

It just keeps getting better

Here's the in-progress review I posted on Viki:

I really loved the first four episodes (especially the 4th, which ratchets up both the comedy and the poignance). It's so nice to see Kim Hye-jun in a straight-up comedy role. I think she's nailing it.

I saw a complaint about her becoming irrational around Lee Chan from someone who seems to have missed the point of the show, which is right there in the title. Spend 5 minutes on YouTube and you can find plenty of examples of people crying, cowering, shrieking, mewling, palpitating, etc. when meeting their idols, so her behavior is 100 percent grounded in reality and not even over-the-top.

On that subject, I really enjoy the jingling bell that signals her "Chan radar". Such a simple but effective and inventive concept.

I'm also loving Kang Hoon, who I don't think I've seen in anything before. He's perfectly cast for the role, transcending the generic tsundere his character could have become. And I like that the ML and FL are already interacting quite a lot. There's something about their chemistry that really clicks for me. The epilogue of episode 2 was perfect.

And it's great to see Cha Woo-min in a main role for a change. He's already been able to show a great mix of charm, humor, tenderness, and exasperation. While it would be nice to finally see him in a ML role, at least he's graduated from supporting roles.

Excellent supporting cast too. I'm always happy to see Kim Ah-young in anything. As usual, she's doing a lot with a small role just through body language and expressions.

Lastly, there's an exciting amount of complications arising between the romantic rivals, misunderstandings, drunken shenanigans, etc. It's a lot to juggle, but the writer and director seem quite up to the challenge from what I've seen. Which is impressive given that they both seem relatively new to the industry.

I'm sure some will complain about tropes like umbrellas, reckless scooter drivers, accidental falls that result in romantic embraces, etc., but I personally like them as long as they're given a fresh spin, which they are here.

QUICK UPDATE: Be sure to skip the "next episode" pop-ups or you might miss the epilogues!

A Typical Rom Com Kdrama, but Enjoyable

So far this is a cute and enjoyable rom com that is pretty typical for Kdrama rom coms. The cute but naive, somewhat bumbling FL is just kind of all over the place as she wonders through life and work unaware of how her naiveté has such an alluring affect on the two very handsome ML's in the drama. Yea, this is very unrealistic and would never happen in real life, but it's presented in a cute and adorable way.

Da Reum goes to work at a fashion company because it was founded by her Kpop idol bias, and it's her life's mission to forever follow and adore him. Once there, she realizes the idol is just the face of the company and in reality it is run by a workaholic CEO who is often cold and distant. The two of them are put into awkward situations, and the cold-hearted CEO begins to warm up to her bright and shining cuteness, not to mention her constant positivity....that is, when she is not being so absent minded he has to rescue her and gets hurt. It's the slap-stick comedic method of having two people fall in love. Only, there's a triangle.....the idol. Now, if this drama weren't unrealistic enough as it is.....we get to jump off a cliff into utter fantasy as the idol falls for the fan!!

At Episode 6, the FL starts to date her idol bias. Honestly, I feel this storyline is the weakest part of the drama because it's so unrealistic, and if this were the entire story, I would probably drop it. But the relationship between the FL and the cold/distant CEO is keeping me watching. These two together are really cute even if they get into some outrageous situations. But right now, the triangle storyline and the two men vying for the FL is the focus. There is a scandal brewing on the horizon, and we still need to catch the Appello corporate mole who is selling secrets to the competition. So there is enough holding me that I"m trying really hard not to be too annoyed at the idol/fan relationship happening because this.....this people....is truly fiction.

#TEAM_CEO

6 episodes in and I'm already so invested..... Da-reum's chaotic fangirl energy is making this show so fun to watch, but ngl Kang Ha-gi is stealing the whole thing for me. Strict CEO, workaholic, not soft too early....exactly my type of slow burn. No filler either, every ep actually moves things forward and keeps you hooked. Triangle's got real tension rn, kinda living for the drama tbh. Idc who ends up right, I'm rooting for the CEO route the whole way 🤞 loving this so far, please don't disappoint me!

Heads In The Clouds When You Should Stay Grounded

Another perfect example of the misguided laughable pathetic delusional thoughts and fantasies entertained by fanboys and fangirls alike towards the members of the Kpop/idol industry.......
You are not Cinderella or a toad who turns into a prince after a kiss from the princess. You are a customer and they are a product and a service in a twisted industry that doesn't care about either. Nothing more, nothing less. Best to keep thoughts and dreams of becoming that *special someone* to one or more members in it's community low and suppressed. I think ppl see these particular pieces as harmless, fluffy and cute dramas........but I think these works are what give rise to the numbers of stalking, harassment, invasion of privacy, obsession, and delusional thoughts of self importance IRL. There's too many who cannot differentiate between fantasy and reality and tired of hearing about the abuse and deaths occurring to the young ones in the industry 😞~
Good or bad, already happened or will in later eps, some of what I listed is what's occurring here mixed in with the same old half assed triangle of a pop star, high ranking executive, and employee..........a warm bubbly female employee at that who drips with delusion in every scene. Lol.......not one original aspect to be found~
No thanks. If I'm going to watch horrible over recycled tropes, it won't be this. Its fairly amusing watching the back and forth between Kdrama fans vs Kpop idols fans when they are cast along side their fav actors/actresses. I LOVE Kdrama and can tolerate idols from the industry crossing over to become actors. I think the faster they escape Kpop, the better off their lives will be. There's a large number who've successfully done it and I like quite a few..........but I'm not big on dramas with Kpop as a central theme. I'm also going to admit that other then a VERY few select songs that have made it through my preferences of hard metal, Kpop music is pure garbage to me. So that's a bias in regards to my review that should be known~
Lol......this will get blasted and that's fine. All good. But I watched 5 eps. That's 5 more than I should've. Hard pass~

Characters looking mismatched

i was disappointed seeing the cast . The boss character doesn't give off the strong, confident boss vibe that the story requires.

The second male lead also don't look enough for the role as idol , he looks so ugly wtf on earth idol looks like this 😭😭 which makes the casting feel mismatched. Also chemistry between main leads being mismatch, this is my overall first impression
