I reall enjoy this lighthearted series, right know there are alot of „dark romance“ our „time travel“ series, which I also enjoy but I also like to switch it up fron time to time! I think it is funny how here Maxky is a silly and outgion character who is totally in to gaming (compared to him being a Mafia like rich kid who is mainly working) and how Bas is a shy young man with soical anxiety and only two close friends, who only started gaming and streaming becuse his friends wanted him to get out of his comfort zone (compared to him being an outgoing and loud person who likes to fight and is friends with everyone)! As gaming is as popular as it is today (compared to my childhood where it was seen as childish or for „nerds“) I also think it fits perfectly in todays world, espacially with more and more female gamers! I look forward to what will come next and hope it keeps up like this!!

Interesting Approach

With only one episode aired, I'm already impressed with some of the production team's innovative choices. Dramas set in the world of esports are plentiful, and a major challenge facing the writers, directors (et. al.) is how to make the gaming feel like it has narrative consequence; and you most likely are not going to accomplish that by simply showing segments of game play. Gamers might find it thrilling to watch game play, but your average viewer isn't going to necessarily connect game play with characterization, plot progression, and emotional investment. Be My Player Two has found an interesting approach- to intercut animated game play with live action scenes of the actors mimicking gameplay (in a fantastical way). It's an interesting approach and I'm invested to see if it truly helps with our emotional investment , our ability to understand the consequence of gamer choice during game play, and to solidify audience allegiance. Bas, in particular, seems to have undertaken this challenge in his acting choices, and in these "fantasy" sequences, he even attempts to mimic the staccato movements of gaming characters in his gait, his stiff body movements, and his pace.

It's nice to see Maxky doing the broad, heavy-lifting in this piece. In Fourever You, his character was more grounded, laid back, and observant- the character didn't require a broad range of physicality or emoting in every scene because he was the "zen" grounding for the chaotic elements around him. This time around, he is the chaos, but he offsets it neatly with a maturity that prevents his grandiosity from becoming cloying.

Solid start to a very hyped drama.

Главную пару МакскиБас я уже видела в лакорнах Fourever You (2024) и Fourever You 2 (2025). Но здесь Макски, казалось, играл самого себя (судя по их совместным тиктокам с Басом) — шумного, экспрессивного парня, и был в этой роли максимально органичен. А персонаж Баса (Со) — полная противоположность его предыдущему герою Норту. Бас шикарно справился с перевоплощением в такую милую булочку, что его всё время хотелось обнять (особенно в моменте, где Со поет Happy Birthday для Пи'Ти).

Но моё сердце окончательно покорила второстепенная пара! Во-первых, я обожаю троп enemies-to-lovers. Во-вторых, здесь мы получили его расширенную версию: friends-to-enemies-to-lovers — и это просто ВАУ! Я не особо увлекалась творчеством Ганнера до этого лакорна, но тут ему дали настолько приятного персонажа, что не проникнуться к нему симпатией было невозможно. А Ньютона я до этого нигде не видела, и он покорил меня буквально с первого появления на экране.

Взаимодействие Джека и Тэна — это что-то на прекрасно-опасном. Сцен с ними было немного, но я пересматривала их по несколько раз: каждая по-своему важна и ценна. Я в полном восхищении от того, как меняется Тэн при общении с командой Ти и наедине с Джеком. А это напряжение перед поцелуями — вы его видели? Его же буквально можно резать ножом! Или момент, когда Джек назвал Тэна "Teerak", потому что проиграл Лэму... Я буквально умерла от умиления! И от того, как естественно Тэн принял это обращение — будто оно всегда там и должно было быть. В общем, вы поняли: я безоговорочно влюблена в мимику Ньютона...

Сюжет простой: есть команда киберспортсменов, их вечные соперники, а также различные турниры и испытания, которые героям предстоит пройти, чтобы завоевать главный кубок (ну и любовь друг друга, хотя с этим они разбираются вполне успешно прямо по ходу дела). К сценарию претензий почти нет: история логичная, в меру романтичная, психологичная и драматичная. Жаль, что второстепенную пару именно как пару начали развивать только ближе к концу сериала, мне не хватило их совместного экранного времени.

Визуал — очень качественный. Монтаж отличный, особенно в первых сериях, где Со и Ти показывают как персонажей внутри игры. Цвет, свет, общая картинка — полный кайф! Съемочной и монтажной команде хочется просто выразить отдельный восторг.

Музыка тоже порадовала: треки даже запоминаются, в отличие от большинства лакорнов, где я обычно не могу угадать, какая песня к какому сериалу относится. За это жирный плюс.

Итог: очень рекомендую! Сериал легкий, ненапряжный и красивый. Думаю, когда-нибудь с удовольствием его пересмотрю.
