Honestly, every now and then a show comes along and just completely sets a new standard. Be My Player Two doesn't just try to mix a cute modern romance with the chaotic, high-stakes world of gaming it pulls it off flawlessly. From the writing to the aesthetic, everything about this show hits the mark perfectly.

The story is incredibly well-done. It actually respects gaming culture instead of just using it as a lazy background prop. You get a real look at the intense training, the strategy, and the massive pressure of the pro league, all wrapped around a super mature, moving love story.

The pacing is spot on. No filler, zero wasted scenes. The tension builds naturally alongside the tournament season, but the show still takes its time during the quiet, emotional moments

When a chinese company takes over...

we get a really crappy script, over-driven comedy which glides into infantile territory. I don't get it when girls/women get into this shit. This feels just as an advertisment for a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) game plus the typical ads for a drink.

The only positive I can say is Bas looking the cutest in this series. But that's all the positive there is. Background music is recycled, we already heard it in other shows (not the songs). Emotionally it's quite flat, everything is dumbed down for some reason. As an adult I can't handle this crap at all. Most of the time it's just cringe. Production was also lazy because streaming does not work like they showed... It's completely unbelievable. As a gamer affine person this is an affront to me. But I guess it does not matter, most women have no clue, and they just like their ship together and everything is fine. Otherwise I can't explain the high rating of this show. Only the skip button saved me to go through this. Some good scenes can't fix this series at all.

For me it was an utter disappointment... This series is a waste of time. This is the cut version, so an automatic 0.5 deduction is applied.

MaxkyBas were great. I just wasn't the audience for this particular kind of show.

I think Maxky and Bas are genuinely one of the funniest Thai BL pairings I've come across, and they also have a chemistry that feels incredibly natural to me. They already stood out to me in Fourever You, so when they were announced as the leads of their own series, I was really excited.

I also really liked how different their characters are from the ones they played in Fourever You. It almost feels like their personalities have been completely flipped. Bas, who was so cheeky and confident there, plays a much more shy and nerdy character here, while Maxky goes from the cool and mysterious type to someone loud, chaotic and completely over the top. I thought that was really fun to watch, especially because both of them pull off the switch so well.

I was also genuinely interested in the gaming setting, especially because I'm at least somewhat familiar with gaming myself. I had hoped the series would make the competitive side exciting even for someone who isn't deeply involved in esports. Unfortunately, I often felt like the gaming storyline was aimed more at people who already enjoy that world, and it never managed to pull me in emotionally the way I had hoped.

So this isn't really a case of Be My Player Two being a bad fit for MaxkyBas. Quite the opposite — I think the series uses their strengths very well. I just realised that their particular brand of comedy and the way the gaming story is told aren't quite my thing.

MaxkyBas saved this drama

The story of this drama is pretty basic compared to boss and babe which had its own ups and downs. I think it was kinda expected cz people weren't that interested in the 2nd couple in Boss and Babe. Gmmtv did a good job not making this one cz it's only thanks to MaxkyBas's quirky cute acting did i watch this drama. That's basically what made it entertaining.

The story does have a lot of gaming scenes so in the middle a lot of us did get bored. It's a simple story so u can't blame anyone. They've had a 10 ep drama so u can't say they had to reduce the number of eps.

One thing i liked about the drama was how Maxky was just being himself as Three🤣🤣 and Soh damn he was soo freaking adorable throughout the drama.

Another thing that was quiet a surprise to me was how they closed the loop with boss and babe. The series ends with where boss and babe starts with gun asking cher to remake his drink n in the epilog they show the end of boss and babe that is the tournament cher and friends decide to join after GunCher get together and the team's problems are resolved.

Overall although not great it's a good drama for a one time watch. I won't be rewatching this one

This was a cute and fun watch, but it didn’t completely steal my heart. 🥹🤍 I enjoyed watching Maxky and Bas together, and their chemistry definitely had some lovely moments. 🎮💕
There were parts I really liked, but I also found myself wishing for a little more. Still, an enjoyable BL and definitely worth the watch! 🌸✨

Unfortunately, the writing behind the esports plot falls drastically short. Despite an intriguing baseline concept involving gaming teams, stream culture, and past drama, the execution feels generic, disjointed, and structurally weak. The storyline lacks the substance needed to justify a 10-episode run, often feeling stretched so thin and scattered that watching at double speed becomes the only way to push through the mid-series lulls. While the overarching narrative is a forgettable, easily skippable affair, Maxky and Bas’s delightful dynamic offers enough sweet breadcrumbs to make it an easy, lightweight guilty pleasure for dedicated fans of the pair.

Gunner Be My Player Two

This was too sweet UGH, I really liked the story. I haven't seen the main 2 in anything else, I know they were in Fourever You but that show is way too long and slow for me lol. Maxky specifically though stuck out for me the most, his energy is infectious and he really nailed the emotional scenes.

I think the pacing in this was pretty solid, you got my guy from 'Love by Chance' singing in it Boy Sompbob! I couldn't really take seriously that the team is strictly phone app gamers, maybe thats a thing more nowadays but I feel like it would be so boring to watch in a tournament and to play. Get them consoles or PC set ups! Those gaming portions needing serious trimming down or just more interesting portions to watch.

Also.....GUNNERRRRR! He’s not in jail and with someone else in this show! I'm so happy for him!

gamer boyfriends being wholesome

I think this series was really cute, Bas and Maxky are always a treat to see on the screen. It was very different from the characters that got me hooked on the pairing but seeing Bas play a more shy character and Maxky a more goofy one was a treat.
I do agree I wish there was a tiny bit more romance, but I also think the people rating this sooo low because of it is a little overkill. I think maybe we are all just used to a bit more explosive romance from these two.

Gunner Newton kinda kept my eyes glued to them a majority of the time. There was a tension there that was insane and I really really loved their chemistry.
I LOVED seeing Ben and Jay back on the screen as a subtle side character pairing, I wish we had gotten more out of them tho. I hope we see more from both pairings, Ben and Jay stole my heart with Caged Again and I know some people hated it but I can't relate. I get excited to see them both on the screen since that series.

I wont lie that this was a little lackluster than I was expecting, but I am also chalking this up to it not entirely being my type of series. I like a little more tension personally. I think the most memorable scene for me was the scene where Bas's and Maxky's character were in the bedroom and it was very clear Bas's character wasn't ready to get physical, the display of recognizing when your partner wasn't ready to take things to the next step was literally everything, even if it was just a small scene.
It left a lasting impression on me.

“Hello, ma boy.” - I will miss hearing this cute sentence!

I’m not a gamer, so that aspect of the show didn’t really interest me.
I came to this show solely for Maxky and Bas, and, oh, what a treat they are!
I think their dynamic really plays well off each other.
Maxky suited the silly role, and he made me laugh so much with his over-the-top actions. It was like watching him play himself.
Bas continues to get more adorable. His little face emotes so well, even without dialogue. And though this drama had only a smattering of romantic moments and didn’t invest heavily in building a long-lasting relationship like in Fourever You, it cemented how well these two actors can work off one another. I didn’t even need romantic scenes. Every scene with just the two of them was engaging.

I wasn’t very interested in the side characters, though they fit the atmosphere. I would love to see Maxky and Bas in an office-based romance drama without added secondary couples. Their acting skills could easily carry an entire show.

An enjoyable, easy watch.
