A Refreshing New BL
Honestly, every now and then a show comes along and just completely sets a new standard. Be My Player Two doesn't just try to mix a cute modern romance with the chaotic, high-stakes world of gaming it pulls it off flawlessly. From the writing to the aesthetic, everything about this show hits the mark perfectly.The story is incredibly well-done. It actually respects gaming culture instead of just using it as a lazy background prop. You get a real look at the intense training, the strategy, and the massive pressure of the pro league, all wrapped around a super mature, moving love story.
The pacing is spot on. No filler, zero wasted scenes. The tension builds naturally alongside the tournament season, but the show still takes its time during the quiet, emotional moments

Literal amaze
Even though only episode 1 has been released, Im POSITIVE that this is going as a 1000/10 on my list. The comedy will surely make you laugh all over the place. The subtle romance will give you butterflies. Maxky and Bas didn't disappoint one bit. Seeing Maxky so lively after his whole nonchalant persona in Fourever You really shook me! Be my Player two flips the script
I reall enjoy this lighthearted series, right know there are alot of „dark romance“ our „time travel“ series, which I also enjoy but I also like to switch it up fron time to time! I think it is funny how here Maxky is a silly and outgion character who is totally in to gaming (compared to him being a Mafia like rich kid who is mainly working) and how Bas is a shy young man with soical anxiety and only two close friends, who only started gaming and streaming becuse his friends wanted him to get out of his comfort zone (compared to him being an outgoing and loud person who likes to fight and is friends with everyone)! As gaming is as popular as it is today (compared to my childhood where it was seen as childish or for „nerds“) I also think it fits perfectly in todays world, espacially with more and more female gamers! I look forward to what will come next and hope it keeps up like this!!Was this review helpful to you?
Funny and cute!
it's so cute, I love the chemestry so much and I love that they play in such a funny series together. it shows such a different and silly side of the actors and I like that it is slow burning. it is really funny to watch and I can't wait for more. Everything is so bright and colorful and it doesn't take itself too seriously. I also love how it shows the gaming world in different ways mobile or PC, and consoles while highlighting the friendship that forms because of the gaming and the excitement and fear of competitive gaming. Interesting Approach
With only one episode aired, I'm already impressed with some of the production team's innovative choices. Dramas set in the world of esports are plentiful, and a major challenge facing the writers, directors (et. al.) is how to make the gaming feel like it has narrative consequence; and you most likely are not going to accomplish that by simply showing segments of game play. Gamers might find it thrilling to watch game play, but your average viewer isn't going to necessarily connect game play with characterization, plot progression, and emotional investment. Be My Player Two has found an interesting approach- to intercut animated game play with live action scenes of the actors mimicking gameplay (in a fantastical way). It's an interesting approach and I'm invested to see if it truly helps with our emotional investment , our ability to understand the consequence of gamer choice during game play, and to solidify audience allegiance. Bas, in particular, seems to have undertaken this challenge in his acting choices, and in these "fantasy" sequences, he even attempts to mimic the staccato movements of gaming characters in his gait, his stiff body movements, and his pace.It's nice to see Maxky doing the broad, heavy-lifting in this piece. In Fourever You, his character was more grounded, laid back, and observant- the character didn't require a broad range of physicality or emoting in every scene because he was the "zen" grounding for the chaotic elements around him. This time around, he is the chaos, but he offsets it neatly with a maturity that prevents his grandiosity from becoming cloying.
Solid start to a very hyped drama.

Ok first off I went in completely blind. The premise seems great and the story sounds fun. What did throw me off a bit is the leads acting in the video game as the characters, but I don't really hate the idea. Cute fluffy start to a typical tropey Thai BL, with elements that reminds of Gameboys
It starts off on similar premise as Gameboys in ways, two people meet on the game and start engaging and liking each other....with an additional Pi-Nong element (typical Thai) and a fake rivalry build-up that leads to cute exchangesBL-Needle Score: 8, reasonably high BL-ness
I am not expecting much from this one but plain cuteness and fluff. The way Soh wears that bear head and the reactions that show up on the screen despite his face being behind that is completely narak!!
Watch it for the fluff factor.
