A Coming-of-age Queer Romance, Where The Stakes Were Simply Life
Ko1 and Ko2's story is one of the most sincere coming-of-age romances I've watched because the stakes are simply life itself.Ko1 begins as someone who is loud, socially confident, yet confused by feelings he doesn't have the language to understand. Progress captures that contradiction beautifully. Ko2, on the other hand, is much quieter. Almond gives him an understated emotional depth. His gaze often says far more than his words.
Neither of them is presented as perfect. They're occasionally hurt, selfish, scared, and confused. But they're constantly learning about each other, and making an effort to adapt once they're together. Ko2 reassures Ko1 while remaining realistic about their situation, and Ko1 gradually learns to understand both himself and the person he loves.
By the finale, every hug and every kiss carries the weight of everything they've experienced together. I could feel the entire journey they had been on, from teens trying to understand themselves to young adults in love. Their happiness feels earned because we've watched every uncertain step that brought them there.
This is one of New Siwaj's most complete works. He trusts the emotional truth of ordinary life, allowing the characters' growth to take center stage. The result is a romance that feels warm, deeply human, and earned.

Epitome of youth
The cinematography and colour grading in this series is really beautiful. The story is really wholesome and covers the struggles of growing up and of course the experience of first love. I’m always smiling so much when I watch this series and it’s so wholesome. The friendships and relationship feel so natural and I love the chemistry between ko neung and ko song. I found myself really invested in this series and I really adore all the characters. I really could rewatch this multiple times whenever I need something to lift my mood. adorable slice of life!
I know there’s only one episode out and there isn’t much that I could say, but I’m loving it so far!this is my first time seeing Almond and Progress (I’m very new to Thai BL!), so I don’t really have any bias towards or against any of them. I’m mainly here for the vibes!
I love slice of life dramas! I loved how ep1 was so youthful and full of life. and the entire small seaside town was so pretty. the cinematography was absolutely beautiful! absolutely loved the late 1990s-early 2000s (i think?) nostalgic vibes they were going for. the color grading was so warm and soothing. definitely fitting the time and era they’re based in🧡
all 5 characters introduced so far were adorable! both Ko’s were so loveable. Almond pulls off the black cat energy really well. and Progress is so damn cute omg! I haven’t seen his acting before, but I thought he’s a pretty good actor. whatever overacting is or will be involved, I will blame it on the directing lmao. Augar and August are so funny, love how they’re always wearing matching clothes 😂 it’s sad that we didn’t get to see much of Achi in this episode.
I have my reservations with this director. I’ve had issues with most of the works I’ve seen from him so far. I really hope the direction stays consistent and doesn’t take a very cringey turn!
so far, I’m really liking this. will be looking forward to see where this is headed!

JUST A VERY NICE SERIES TO WATCH, ALMOND, PROGRESS, KEN & PAUL HAVE DONE A REALLY GREAT JOB!!!
Almond and Progress displayed a very talented ability in their series, Lovesick. Their relationship grew and in one of the last scenes, Progress began to cry real tears, finally facing the fact, he loved Almond. You could indeed feel it. In When Oranges Fall, they have slipped the bond of just beginning actors, to the excellent perfection in every scene, every motion- Almond reserved, Progress a energetic loving character that will keep the viewer watching the exchanges in their performance. To me the break out rolls, were Ken and Paul, who played a distant platonic couple in Boys in Love, to the most surprising couple match up in true form in this series. Ken is alive, a all boy, boy with a love of sports, and Paul admiring him with every heartbeat. You can feel that also, but when alone and Ken asks Paul, "do you know what I am thinking" drawing close to Paul, the Kiss, heartbeat, and warm loving moment is like a tidal wave over the air you are breathing.I do not usually comment on what I have watched, but this one I just felt the need to say what I feel, and I loved every minute of this series.

This series is a disaster
not worth watching this series, this show was plagued by politics, i feel bad for the actors though, they all worked hard, especially for Keaton, he didn’t deserve all this mistreatment but the company is a trash, I dropped it, and will never support any GMMTV shows again, unless something will changeWas this review helpful to you?
The chemistry, acting, cinematography and overall vibe is a top notch! Highly recommended and you wont regret it!
Props to almond and progress they will make you fill everything from the teases, nostalgia, happy moments and even angst they deliver it so well.

Please don't listen to the bad reviews (aka the 3/1 star reviews) as it's people only talking about Justin (the actor for August) and how he was kicked from GMMTV, not about the show. When I first starting watching When Oranges Fall it was still airing (it had 9 episodes), OMG this show had me ADDICTED from the start! For starters, the color grading is to die for, just like the name, the show has somewhat of a nostalgic feel due to the orangish/yellow coloring, not really like the typical blue, light, refreshing colors you usually see. The acting was amazing, once you watch you'll truly feel connected with each character as they all have some sort of dept to an extent. This show handles comedy and angst very well!! Whenever an episode had some sort of sadness, you definitely were feeling bad alongside the characters, or, whenever a joke was made, you'll surely laugh along. When Oranges Fall takes place in the 90s/early 2000s, and is a romance story between Ko Song and Ko Neung. The ending did feel a little rushed and I was disappointed over that fact that Tle was not mentioned nor shown at all 🥲. If you haven't watched yet, please do!Was this review helpful to you?

Honestly? When I put aside the fact that it takes place in past and everyone is okay with them being gay, it's 10/10. It's cute, meaningdlful, emotional, the story makes sense, the actors do have a chemistry... And the ending? I didn't expect it'd expect like this, but it's really great.I feel sorry for Jason (actor), because he didn't deserve such a big punishment for one wrong repost. It's good that they let him in last episode at least, when he can't attend the fanmeeting with other cast. At least it was so obvious that they still left some space for him <3.

Sweet as an Orange
I put off starting When Oranges Fall because it looked to be another high school romance that offered nothing new. However, I found that its authenticity and realism in its characters, plus the setting in the late 90's/early 2000's, really made this story stand out. The conflicts were precisely what high schoolers figuring themselves out would go through: discovering feelings for a friend, the fear of losing the friendship, and the uncertainty of where your lives will go. The way these characters dealt with their emotions was so realistic and well done - definitely a new comfort show!When Ko (Progress) meets his new neighbor, also named Ko (Almond), the two don't get along at first. Pretty quickly, they put aside their differences and become fast friends, particularly because new kid Ko 2 has an orange tree that Ko 1 loves the oranges from. As the two grow closer, Ko 2 joins Ko 1's existing friend group. The show follows the group throughout their entire high school career, and as the kids figure out growing up, they also have to figure out their feelings for each other.
Almond and Progress did a great job in these roles. It really felt like these characters were real people with real motivations. While there were a few episodes that felt like the conflict dragged on unnecessarily, and perhaps a few loose ends that never truly got tied up, overall this show was a wonderful watch. The portrayal of young and uncertain love was fantastic. I was surprised that for a show set in the early 2000s, there were zero conflicts about queerness. While that aspect may be unrealistic, I do love watching a show where queerness is never questioned. If you're looking for a sweet, feel-good romance with a bit of a nostalgia for the time period, this is one of the best ones for it!

Beautiful cinematography, not very good execution
The thing i loved most about this BL was their friendship dynamic, it was so beautiful, like so beautiful i preferred it more than the actual relationships. As a whole ,together, they really shined, like actual teenage boys (honestly i was shocked to find that Justin is actually 15).Now, in their own individual couples i really feel like they lacked in their acting skills. When it came to the romantic element literally everyone looked a little awkward! i know thats kinda harsh!!! Contrary to that, the emotional scenes were absolutely on point!! Props to progress for really embodying the character of P'Ko!!
The cinematography was absolutely perfect, i love the colour scheme of this entire drama it reminds me of nostalgia and how beautiful the high school days actually was! 10/10 to the director i will be sure to follow his works too!
Another thing i loved was the writing of the story (although the execution lacked) i found myself really relating to P'Ko!!!
Overall im quite happy i watched this show, i wouldnt regret it at all, very very beautiful and meaningful at least to me !!!
Even though i mightve shat on it a little bit, i truly love this BL so bad u dont understand literally every single flaw can be overwritten, thats how muhc i feel for it, 10/10 watch it now! i love my koko

Room For Improvement
- *wasn't into the 4 eyes comment by a protagonist but it did feel immature/10th grader-ish
- though I know it was a coming of age/slice of life, it did feel slow to me in some parts, you could start this at episode 8 part 1 to focus more on the lead pair's romantic relationship
- one character was absent in the finale which was odd
- voice over narration
