Absolutely Adorable (So Far)

I don’t know… there’s just something so refreshing about it. I found myself laughing so much throughout the first episode, and not because it’s trying too hard to be funny. It’s just funny.

I think my favourite part so far is that these characters don’t just feel like teenagers, they actually are teenagers. The actors themselves are around that age, and it makes such a difference. It’s nice watching young people just be young while they figure out this completely new environment. They’re awkward, clueless, dramatic, and chaotic in the cutest way. When I say it’s adorable, I don’t mean in an “aww, look how cute they are” kind of way. It’s more that it’s refreshing to watch kids actually behave like kids instead of acting like tiny adults.

And as usual, we have the classic Thai series “convenient inconvenience” trope (at least that’s what I call it), where two people who can barely tolerate each other somehow end up having to spend even more time together. It’s such a funny setup because it’s almost always expected, but it’s funny every single time it happens.

A typical GMMTV *hust* Change2561 school BL...

What shall I write about this show? It's a typical enemy to lovers tropé, typical school BL with childish things including soundeffects and a feel good vibe. While the second couple had less screentime for me it had the more interesting story. It was also more subtle and not the typical brute force approach.

Production quality was high, script was weak, it's just a run of the mill school BL. "My School President" had the much more elaborate OST and of course the better actors imho, but it's not as bad as many other thai school BLs (Make it Right 2026 comes to mind which will hopefully end soon). At least most of the time, it was not boring. Also I appreciate that this series was shorter with only eight episodes. It had some cute aspects and it was not all the way stupid which is an improvement in my book.

You can watch it and not complain about a cringe-fest, everything is quite mellow and the few dramatic scenes are not over-acted or silly. Everything is positive including the parents, so there is no drama when the sons came out. Everything is just perfect, maybe too perfect.

A Surprisingly Charming Coming-of-Age Story

I’m surprised by how much I ended up enjoying this one. I struggled with the first episode, but I’m so glad I stuck with it because it gave me one of the most authentic teenage friend groups I’ve seen in a while. It captured the spirit of adolescence so effortlessly, with an infectious energy that kept me engaged. The characters are chaotic and charming, the humor works, and the relationships, both romantic and platonic, feel genuinely heartwarming.

I also appreciate that this story didn’t exist in a BL vacuum. It may sound silly, but it’s refreshing to see a BL where boys and girls not only interact with each other but are actually friends. Is it just me, or do we rarely get mixed friend groups like this? I loved how this circle of friends had such a nice variety, with different types of relationships naturally woven into the story. It felt like a real group of people rather than just characters placed around the main couple.

The OST and the vibrant, colorful sets also deserve a mention, as they perfectly embodied the youthful tone of the story. Since it was a shorter show, it didn’t have the same amount of time to fully explore every character and relationship, but it also avoided dragging out conflicts. That pacing may work better for some viewers than others, but I thought they made the most out of the time they had.

It may not be a very original story, but its execution and believable characters made it a delightful watch that not only amused me but also got me emotionally invested. Short and sweet, but it left a lasting impression. Can’t wait for the second seas... I mean five special episodes. 😂

First impression

So far so good. I'm not too crazy about this series, but it is definitely not bad. The first 10-15 min felt like too much, but after that I think it became better. This series gives me vibes of My School President.
It's nice with some funny moments. I definitely want to see more.

Things I liked:
1. Funny moments. A bit cringy at times, but not too bad.
2. Cute moments.
3. Indy and Jia. They are so cute together, their characters are like a perfect fit.

Things I disliked:
1. Too many characters for 8 episodes.
2. Tungtae. He is cheating on his girlfriend(s), going into Lee's room and breaking his stuff (yes, on accident, but he should've never been there in the first place), and then running his mouth about everything regarding Lee and Putter's personal lives without asking them first.
3. Cliche misunderstandings. I understand that while making BLs, a lot of the companies love to add the misunderstandings and conflicts closer to the end to keep it entertaining and whatnot. But I think it's really stupid and really not necessary, especially with the one that they chose this time because it's the most unrealistic and unbelievable thing. The fact that Lee actually believed it is just stupid. That would have never happened.

Overall: I struggled with the entitlement and immaturing (I did give them leeway for being high schoolers) in episode 1. Then things improved only to have it all crash down in episodes 6 and 7. - the temper tantrum at not getting his own condo
- the "be a jerk to the person I like" trope
- the point of the club was to find love, so that rule felt homophobic
- multiple kiss interruptions
- shipping stuff was gross but glad there was an apology
- a guy on the toilet while gaming
- 8 episodes was not enough to have 2 full episodes (6 and 7) of that stuff

8th episode review

I made an account on here for the first time just for this one episode... Tell me WHY did I wait for this whole week just for next episode for them to not be together and barely have scenes together??? In my opinion this drama is really great overall and among all ongoing dramas i'm watching this one became my comfort drama. I was so happy that we got sweet high school drama that has more sweetness than breakups and fights, but it gave me a surprise with this episode... I do recommend this drama to everyone, but I wish this episode was made differently. Actors are extremely young but pretty talented so I'd like to ask everyone to support them!

Not my favorite

*criticism is about plot, not actors*
This drama was mostly boring and filled with a lot of teen drama that is, admittedly, outside my demographic so it made it really hard to enjoy.

I also think that some plot points happened that didn't really have a good enough reason to happen just so another plot point could take place. The 'no dating within the group/club' rule felt a little out of place. Even when assigning reason to it, it just felt more like a plot device to make their relationship secret. And that too felt out of place as well. All of that so the reveal of Ter's secret (all ready over it) crush on Indy could be used as a break up tool.

And don't get me started on the crush reveal, which, in any other drama would have been a bullying scene.

I will say the last episode was very well done overall. My main frustration comes from the fact I wish most of the drama was like that of the last episode instead of being kind of a mess.

The age of discovery of pain and happiness

Episode 7 surprised me. I started this series simply enjoying the youthfulness and pettiness of high school, never expecting it to explore the psychology of teenage relationships with this much depth. To me, this has become Putter’s story more than Lee’s. Putter is the one forced to grow up faster because, unlike Lee, he is mostly alone…and when you are alone, you cannot afford to hide behind walls forever.

High school is the age of experimentation and discovery. It is like putting your finger into an electrical socket and learning just how badly it can hurt. Lee discovers that friendship can give him the support and confidence to pursue his dreams. But he also discovers the pain of falling in love and possibly losing that friendship in the process. He can retreat to the safe side, away from the fire…but at what price?

Putter has always lived on that safe side. Yet he finally lowered his walls, allowed himself to be vulnerable, and accepted Lee’s love. But was it truly love? In high school, love is understood differently. Teenagers often mistake attention for affection, longing for devotion, and sacrifice for proof of love. Eventually, they learn that feelings are not always returned equally…and that may be one of the most painful lessons of growing up.

Putter helped Lee recover the spark he needed to shine and pursue his dream. But somewhere along the way, Putter began losing his own. Is it really love when loving someone causes you to stop shining? Perhaps Putter’s greatest lesson is not simply the pain of losing Lee…it is discovering that loving oneself may be the greatest love of all. Love should never require one person to become smaller so the other can glow brighter.

Whether Lee and Putter get back together is not the real ending. Their story could go either way because discovering themselves matters more than defining their relationship. This series could have ended with Episode 7, and I could imagine their friendship surviving and growing with them. Perhaps when they are older, after learning how to love without losing themselves, they will find each other again…not to continue where they left off, but to start over

This series had more maturity that I expected, that’s what I enjoyed the most.

So fluffy and so adorb

Leeith and Putter definitely embodies that puppy love in the adolescents. I truly think that these types of BLs really are just so cute and lovely. It is a formulaic and basic plotlines but it does deliver well especially with the chemistry of the casts.

It is not like a head turner BL, however, I did enjoy waiting for new episodes to drop every fridays. It truly has that pull on me and to many viewers too. Leeith and Putter's actors have strong chemistry and potential to be a strong BL tandem. Given this, I hope to see more projects with them starring as in the future!

Class Crush Crisis — Cute, Light, and Easy to Forget

A cute and light school BL, but nothing really special or memorable. The story is simple, the production is good, and thankfully with only eight episodes it never overstays its welcome.

I didn’t mind the lack of kissing scenes at all considering the actors’ ages. A cheek or forehead kiss was more than enough. The accidental “lip kiss” in the finale actually felt more cringe than romantic.

Some of the cast didn’t get enough material, but hopefully this is only the beginning for them. Several have good screen presence and a lot of potential.

Overall, it’s an easy, feel-good watch. You won’t miss much if you skip it, but if you want something cute, harmless and relaxing, it does the job.

Only if high school BL shenanigans lead you to your Happy Place

Class Crush Crisis goes down easy and provides the kind of escapism fans of the high school BL genre enjoy. Put another way: Class Crush Crisis provides yet another Thai high school BL where very little of substance is actually at stake; yet, to the fraught teenage characters, their whole existence is on the line. This iteration of the set-up is agreeable enough, even if entirely lacking in originality.

CCR is notable for a cast comprised of actual high-school aged students (nearly all making a professional debut). They are game enough, winsome enough, and energetic enough to inject some life into a tepid plot dependent on familiar story beats. Its two original elements: offering a high school student pursuing a side hustle as a fortune-telling medium (he reads Tarot cards) and another who aspires to turn pro in e-sports. (At least, I don’t recall another e-sports playing character, although I don’t watch every series in existence either.) Otherwise, every plot element feels recycled. Our leads take an immediate dislike to one another; we have a student(s) who dream(s) of playing in a band; the student(s) who persuade their parents to let them live in a condo near school; we have the two who dislike each other forced to co-habitate; we have the inevitable thaw between the two who dislike each other; we have gossipy fellow students who feel compelled to pry into every corner of others’ business; we have a self-imposed rule against dating within the friend circle; and we have The Breakup That Neither Party Wants But There is a Stupid Misunderstanding. Naturally, that arrives about two episodes shy of the finale. The breakup, whose aftermath dominates the final three epsiodes, relies on “logic” only teenagers could deem sound. (The discussion boards were awash in fervent, yet pointless, debates about which party bore more responsibility, which suggests the foolishness landed with the target audience.) If all these elements come across as retreads, at least the production team managed to reassemble them into a final product lacking in serious angst. Somehow, Class Crush Crisis is fresher than the sum of its recycled parts warrants.

The finale includes coming out scenes where the Rocker and e-sports player confess to their parents both their unorthodox career aspirations and their romantic “truth.” The moment feels quite inauthentic, but in true BL finale fashion, only parental support and love flows from these revelations. Everything then wraps up smoothly and easily. Indeed, “smooth and easy” provides an innocuous requiem for this innocuous series.

So fun just too little time seen as a couple

This show was so adorable and I'm so glad I watched it! I loved the characters and their friendship with each other so much! The couples were all so cute too! I think the plot was really simple, and I think it was perfect for this type of show. I wish it was longer! Eight episodes wasn't enough.

I absolutely loved Leeith and Putter so much! I love how complex both of their characters were. Episode one they seem like they're going to be one way and then as the show went on you really saw so many sides to each of them individually and even more so when they started dating. I just loved and adored them both so much. Also, huge shoutout to the stylist for all of Leeith's outfits. He had the coolest style I've ever seen and want to raid his closet right now.
Indy kind of drove me nuts sometimes but I loved seeing him grow closer to Jia and how their relationship developed. Even before Jia when he was going for Faye, it was so cute. I didn't care for Faye though; she was a jerk.
I liked the rest of the friend group a lot, both the girls and the guys; they were all so fun! I feel like even with some of them we didn't see as much as others, they still all had their own personalities and relationships with people and I loved that a lot.

My one complaint is how little we got to see the couples together once they were dating. I know we got a bit more for Leeith and Putter than we did for Indy and Jia, but still I wanted more. I wanted to see more of them all as boyfriends. There was just too much time spent on the breakup. We didn't need two episodes for that. I doubt we will, but I'd love a season two or even a special episode.
