JoongDunk stole my heart

I really liked the story of this one! I thought it was a really fun watch. The spice was pretty good too.

The chemistry between the two pairs was great as well! This is where I was really introduced FirstKhao & JoongDunk and have been obsessed ever since, especially with JoongDunk. They really stole the show for me and their storyline was my favorite in the series.

I loved watching it as it aired and looked forward to the new episode every week.

A murder mystery where you don't feel bad for the victims

I'm always excited for another JoongDunk series and this one didn't disappoint! I loved the mystery of this show a lot! The group of friends was so unlikable, other than Jay, that even though I wanted the killer to be caught I wasn't ever upset that these awful people were dying either. Jade and Kamin were such likeable characters! They obviously had fantastic chemistry as well! I can't wait to see them in another series together!

The romance was peak

I wanted to watch this for IU and Woo Seok and it didn't disappoint. I loved every minute of it. From the romance to the plot to the costuming and sets, I loved it all! The characters were all so enjoyable to watch as well.

IU and Woo Seok's chemistry first off was just incredible. I love these two so much as actors and was really happy to see them work on something together. Hui Ju was such a fun character. I loved how goofy she was but also so determined and caring for I-An. I-An was such a complex character. He was kind and caring and has just been through so much. For a kdrama I feel like they kissed quite a bit too which was nice to see. I just absolutely adored them together!
I loved assistant Choi and Do! I was hoping there would be a romance between them, and I was so glad there was. They had so many cute moments together. Their kiss at the bus stop was next level!! Absolutely loved how passionate it was. I loved how similar Choi is to Hui Ju is with their goofiness. Do was similar to I-An in a lot of ways too so I loved how by the end they pretty much switched assistants. I loved seeing the four of them together! They were so fun to see how each of their dynamics were with each other.
I was very happy when I Rang ended up being on I-An's side rather than her father and Jeong U's. I really didn't like her for most of the show to be honest. Towards the end I did like her a bit more, but she did a lot in the beginning that made me hate her.
I wasn't shocked when Jeong U turned to his villain era. I had an off feeling about him from the beginning, so it didn't shock me when he started doing shady stuff. His reasoning for doing all the bads things being because he wanted Hui Ju for himself was kind of lame I will say. Man had over 10 years to confess to her and never did. I was glad to see his downfall in the end, but I do wish we were shown his arrest and not just told about it.
Tae Ju and Da Yeong really grew on me throughout the show. I didn't like either of them at first because they were routing for Hui Ju's downfall, but throughout the show we saw more and more that they really cared for her by the end and they became really enjoyable to watch. I loved the relationship between them as a couple from the start though, it was adorable.
The king was so stinking cute too!! So adorable!!

I really liked the plot. It was very stereotypical in moments but not to the point it annoyed me. I don't think anything was too drawn out either. I liked seeing how everything with the crown worked in a modern-day society. The focus of the show is definitely more the romance than other plot, but I think that is fine because it's what drew people in. I loved the mix of seeing modern day with the historical elements of the crown. I thought that was really cool to see. I'm not the biggest fan of Korean historicals so I thought this was the perfect way to have both.

This show was really enjoyable. I looked forward to it every week and miss it so much. I think the actors all did an incredible job and this was quite the stacked cast. I have to mention the sets and costuming again because they were stunning!!

I loved all the OST's as well!! Riize, BIBI, Boynextdoor, Woodz, and even Woo Seok himself! I added them all to my Spotify I love them so much!!

The best and so good!!!

Absolute perfection. This easily became my favorite BL of all time. The story, the acting, the characters, the music, everything about it I loved. I recommend it so highly. This is going to be a long review, so buckle in.

The story:
I loved that if there was any conflict at all, it was solved so quickly. No miscommunication, no drawn-out plotlines that felt unnecessarily long, no breakups, none of it. Those things are almost always in dramas and especially BL's and this time there was none of it. The friendships felt so real and natural. Daung, Jamie, and Pae, might just be one of my favorite friend groups I've ever seen. I love how supportive of each other they were, how much they joked around with each, there for each other, etc. They truly felt like a real friend group. Even though we didn't see Qin, Tong, and Kim hang out as much, I really liked their friend group as well. Both were complete opposites of each other in some ways, but I think that is one of the reasons it was so enjoyable. I really loved the friendship Jamie and Qin had by the end of the show too. They really became besties and I love that. I think the show progressed at the perfect pace too. I loved how long each episode was and even though they were long, they still went by so fast. I love that the entire story took place over a years' time. It showed how much time has really passed and showed that nothing happened immediately and took time, which made it feel more realistic.

The characters and actors:
1. Duang and TeeTee! Nobody could've played Duang except 2Tee. He was the perfect Duang. 2Tee did such an incredible job. He made me laugh, made me emotional, made me feel all the emotions throughout the series. He is such an incredible actor. Duang has got to be one of the greenest flags ever. He's just the best. I love Duang with all my heart. He's so kind and caring and funny and was just so enjoyable as a main character. Loved him so much!
2. Qin and Por! I've loved Por since Your Sky and was hoping to see him in something else and little did I know it would become my favorite. Por did an incredible job as Qin. I, like I said with Duang and TeeTee, don't think anyone else could've played Qin except for Por. I loved Qin so much and loved seeing how he grew and changed throughout the story. I loved seeing him open up more and more to Duang and then get to open up to his parents as well. So beautiful. I love how much we got to hear him sing as well.
3. Jamie and North! North absolutely killed this. I didn't know North before this, and I am so glad this introduced him to me. I love him so much now. As for Jamie, I loved him so much too. Jamie was so funny. I loved seeing him with Duang, Pae, Qin, and especially Marvis. I just think Jamie was such a fun character.
4. Marvis and Otto! Again, this was my first time seeing Otto and GOD DAMN! I wish I knew him sooner. He killed it as this c*nty little diva. I loved Marvis a lot. He's so sassy but caring at the same time.
5. Pae and Wave! Once again, my first time seeing him and instantly fell hard. I loved Pae so much. He was so funny! I wish he was in the show more. The second half of the show especially felt like he definitely became more of a background character, but I kept wanting more. Either way love him, love Wave. He did an amazing job as Pae.

Couples:
1. Duang and Qin! COUPLE GOALS!! Where do I find this? They are such a perfect couple. They balance each other out so well in so many ways. They're helping each other grow in so many ways too. Best couple. I've never seen a couple in a show/movie feel so natural and real like them. From bigger moments between them down to the littlest kisses and gestures, they felt so realistic. They were such a true representation of what a healthy and in love couple looks like. I could talk about them forever.
2. Jamie and Marvis! I loved every scene between them, I just wish we got more!! I loved every time they came on screen together, but there wasn't enough. I'm hoping we get a special episode or something so we can see more of them (and hopefully actually get a kiss this time). I loved all their scenes though so much. The sexual tension was so strong. I loved seeing them have sweet moments too and see them start to fall for each other more and more.
3. Pae and Tong! (Yes, I'm putting them in the couple category) I thought we'd get more of these two together, even if they weren't going to get together in the show, I thought we would just see more of them together, but we really didn't. Pae kept mentioning a partner and with the whole Cherry thing I really thought they were going in that direction, but I guess not. If we get a special ep I hope they get at least some kind of scene just the two of them.

Overall, I just can't say enough good things about this show. It was incredible. I'm writing this on the first Saturday without Duang with You and I'm still so sad to see it done. I'm really hoping for a special because I don't want to be done with any of these characters yet. I fell in love with all the characters and actors and miss it so much already. I've had the music on repeat since they all dropped on streaming. I could genuinely talk about this show forever, but I'll end with this. Duang with You's thing is "not the best but still good" but this series truly was the best. I can't wait to rewatch.

If I could give this show higher than a 10, I would!

Everything about this show was fantastic! I've never been so moved by a story before. This just felt so real and relatable. I can't say enough good things about this show! I recommend it to everybody! All the actors did incredible as well! IU did an amazing job playing multiple roles in the show, and Bo-Gum really makes you swoon!

It overstayed its welcome

There were a lot of things I liked about the show but also a lot of things I didn't which is why I rated it kind of low. I love Dylan Wang which is why I wanted to watch it, but there was just some real issues with the pacing of this show. Some moments were super enjoyable and others really dragged. I just think it overstayed its welcome.

Episode 8 is where they messed up big time

Overall, the show was so mid. If it weren't for Pond and Don, I would've rated it lower to be honest.

Things I liked:
-Than's parents! They are so cute and have such sweet love for each other and Than as well as the grandkids!
-Mawin & Nene! Absolutely loved these two so much! They were so fun and added such sass and funny moments to the series! They were in my top five characters in the series for sure!
-The group of three guys and two girls at Kin's work (AJ and them)! They brought such funny moments to the show. They were all such divas and I loved it. Wish we saw more of them honestly, especially the girls.
-Meya! Loved her!! She is so gorgeous too!
-Pond and Don's story!! I'll get more into that
-The wedding! I love when these series end with a wedding and theirs was so cute! Love that we saw people give speeches, dancing, the matching suits, the kids being a part of it, and the location, all of it I loved so much!!

Things I didn't like:
-Nat. He just annoyed me and seemed a little useless honestly
-Kin. I'll get more into that too.
-Kin and Than's relationship bored me. I liked them together, but they were so boring.
-The "what if" thing they did in the finale. Why did we spend 10 minutes on something we already knew the answer to. "What if that never happened? We would've been in love" ...Yeah no shit. We literally just watched a whole show about how despite all that, you were still in love.
-Kin leaving for that period of time just to show us that despite time apart they still love each other LIKE THAT WASN'T THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THE SHOW TO BEGIN WITH. It felt like they just needed to fill airtime.

Kin and Than:
Let me start off by saying I do think they were cute together. They love each other a lot and nothing will ever stop that love. They're great dads/uncles to the kids too. I think the four of them will truly be happy together. That being said, all of this could've been avoided if Kin just TALKED TO THAN! And they prove that with their "what if" thing in the finale. Kin just annoyed me so much because if his communication issues. They were just kind of a boring couple. Neither one of them as individuals had a very interesting personality. Their personality was liking the other one and that was kind of it. They were just boring to watch. I was over them pretty quickly into the series.

Don and Pond:
These two were the best part of this show hands down. They're relationship was so good! I loved seeing their relationship develop over the show. They had phantastic chemistry too! The love they had for each other went so deep, even though they never got to express just how much they truly loved each other. I loved when they were on screen. I wish we got more time with them. Their ending was so upsetting though. Why did Don die? It felt so out of left field. And why was Pond the only one who cared that he died? Why was it so quickly rushed over? I've seen so many other viewers say it as well. I am glad they gave us more of Pond grieving and thinking of Don during the wedding, but it just felt so brushed over by everyone else in the show. I don't understand why it needed to happen anyway, but if you're going to go for this tragic moment spend more than five minutes on it! Pond's speech and the moment he had during the dance at the wedding broke me. It was devastating. Until the wedding though Pond also just became so unimportant in the show after Don died too which I didn't like. I just think the writers/creators of the show made a huge mistake killing him off. He was my favorite and one of the best, if not the best, character in the show. They deserved so much better.

Overall, it was just not good. It wasn't bad, but not good either. I really would not recommend it to people unless it was to just tell them to watch the Don and Pond storyline and skip everything else. Episode 8 really was a huge downfall for the show.

Fantastic start, unenjoyable finish

It started off so good. I was eating it up. It was toxic but it was supposed to be, great I love to see it that’s fine. I loved the first half or so. Fan Xiao was toxic and manipulative and it made the show really fun to watch, as awful as that sounds, it was fun seeing him worm his way in between Shu Lang and his boyfriend. I even loved when Fan Xiao and Shu Lang got together...at first.

Where the show really started to lose me is when Fan Xiao went from toxic to straight up abusive and a r*pist. I'll watch a toxic relationship all day long, but the second r*pe or assault comes in is where it's enjoyable anymore. I knew I was signing up for toxicity but not abuse so it very much threw me off. There were multiple scenes where Shu Lang clearly didn't want Fan Xiao and was forced to sleep with him or kiss him, and the show just kept throwing in scenes where Fan Xiao “realizes” what he’s doing is wrong and “apologizes” but the way they do it is like they want us as the audience to actually forgive him. Like girl what?? He literally just assaulted Shu Lang. Or they would have scenes where the show is like “No guy's Shu Lang stays because wants to” like GIRL NO HE DOES NOT. Why did we take this turn?? I hate it. Why does toxicity always have to mean SA? It was plenty entertaining and toxic enough before all that.

I hated that they ended up together too. I was really hoping this show would be different and would have it so Shu Lang actually moves on and goes on with his life happily, which he does, and then they ruined it in the last 10 minutes or so but putting them back together.

Like I said, I loved the first half maybe even a bit more of this show. The main two as well as Shu Lang's boyfriend were enjoyable to watch, and I really found the story entertaining. Once they made Fan Xiao turns so possessive that he was abusive is where I really didn't like his character anymore.

As for things I liked
-I loved the chemistry between the main two actors. They did a great job as well as the rest of the cast, but the mc's really stood out to me
-The story was never boring, even when I didn't like where it went, at least it wasn't boring.
-I LOVED seeing Fan Xiao go absolutely broke at the hand of Shu Lang. He deserved it.
-I love that Shu Lang adopted Tian Tian! So cute!
-The first half of the show is what I want when it comes to toxic relationships to watch! It makes it so fun to see!
-I really liked the finale. Even though I didn't want them to end up together and wasn't happy about that, I think the finale was really good.
-The kisses and spicey scenes were pretty good

Overall, I just don't know how to feel about it because I went from being so excited for the next episode to dreading the next one.

The most wholesome barber shop ever

If there is one word to sum up this show, it's wholesome. This is by far the sweetest and most wholesome show I have ever seen.

I watched it because Bogummy is one of my favorites and I am so glad I did. This made me love him even more. I had also seen Sang Yi and Dong Yeon from dramas before, but before this show didn't know their names, just their faces. After this, I will never forget their names and will watch whatever they're in. I have so much love for them now. These three guys have so much genuine care and love in their hearts and that was so beautifully shown in this show. Their friendship with each other was so beautiful and so cool to see. Their relationship with all the villagers was incredible to watch. The villagers are all such fun and kind people. I loved meeting and seeing all of the villagers so much.

This show was such a nice heartwarming thing to watch each week and I'm going to miss it a lot. I cried through pretty much all of the finale because I felt so emotional. Absolutely beautiful.

So happy to see it was already picked up for a season two! I love that the boys got to go back out there in their private time like they promised as well!

Fun but a little long

There was nothing particularly wrong with this show, it was just a little long in my opinion for what it was. It was cute and fun and loved the characters, just a little repetitive. I loved the cast and was happy to see PerthSanta in something.

Pobmek deserved more credit than he got for taking care of Sun/Solar the entire time. That is so much on someone. I know he had help but it was mainly on him and I think he deserves major props for sticking with it all that time. I loved seeing his growth over the season with the kids and learning that he loved being a teacher.

Sun was so adorable even if he was a bit of a troublemaker sometimes. He really brought so many of the funny moments in the series. Solar was really fun too. I loved how caring and loving he was. I'm glad he got to figure things in his past as well.

Jee annoyed me I'm not going to lie. He was just a little too weird for me in moments, but he was really helpful with everything.

Sodhuen might be my favorite character, either her or Pobmeck. I just loved her. She is so fun and caring, and I was so happy she got to the permanent principal at the end. She loved the school and the kids so much so I'm glad she gets to keep that role. She was a lot of help as well with the Sun situation.

The kids all made the show more enjoyable. I think they really helped carry the show to be honest. They were so fun and loveable. I loved the two boy friends and the three girl friends so much! The kids all did a great job with the acting as well!

The idea of the show is fun, and I do think they executed it well. I liked how it ended and loved that Sun wasn't there for the finale and just focused on how Pobmeck and Solar are doing after the fact. I do think they brushed over the fact Sun was abused pretty quickly. They kind of just blamed it on depression and moved on, but that kind of happens a lot so I wasn't shocked by that. Overall, it was fun and I enjoyed it.

Loved all the outfits in this too!

This should be talked about more!

I watched the trailer for this and thought it looked interesting, but omg this blew my expectations out of the water! Absolutely loved it! It was so different than I thought it was going to be in the best way. The characters were actually smart and enjoyable to watch, no time was wasted with things being dragged out, everything was answered...I just loved it. The actors all did an amazing job as well!

The show is super violent and could definitely be triggering for some. If Selfh*rm is one of your triggers, I would not recommend watching this. The show doesn't hold back on its gore aspect.

Characters:
Se A-An absolute baddie of a main character. She was so cool. She was caring, lovable, and so brave. I loved watching her. Her relationship with her friends showed how much she cares about them all. Her relationship with Geon U was so sweet. You could really feel how much they truly loved each other. I loved her chemistry with Ha Jun too I can't lie.

Geon U-Again you could see just how much he truly loved Se A and cared for his friends. He was such an adorable guy! Just had the cutest and sweetest personality. I was very happy he didn't die in the beginning of the season after he made his wish lol

Ha Jun-I think he was my favorite character to be honest. He was so smart, sweet, caring, and I just loved whenever he was on screen. I love that even though he liked Se A and had many opportunities to try to make a move on her (like when they were really close to each other in the circle) he still didn't. He didn't push any boundaries, didn't cross the line, and stayed as just a caring friend the entire time. I thought that was so respectful and quite different for a series since they were kind of a love triangle. Depends on who you ask really. I loved seeing his relationship with his brother-in-law develop too.

Na Ri-I didn't trust her from the very beginning to be honest. Her vibes were just off, and I wasn't shocked when she started shit talking her friends and even tried stealing Geon U. She was just a bad person through and through. I've seen some theories that people think she could be the next person to haunt the phone and I wouldn't be shocked at that at all.

Hyeong Uk-Even though we barely saw his character, I felt so bad for him! He didn't deserve what happened to him at all. I'm glad him and Se A were able to talk at his house before he died because I felt like it cleared up some insecurities about his friends for him. Man needed a big hug!

Bang Ui-Loved him!!! He was so funny and really brought some good comedic moments to the show. I absolutely adored him trying to get close to Ha Jun! So cute! Very glad he didn't die either because I was so worried he would. I would love another season to see more of how his power works but it's cool either way.

Ha Yeong-A true baddie! I loved her! She was so brave and was the true GOAT of the season!! I do wish they expanded a bit more on why her and brother didn't seem super close, but that's ok.

Si Won-This mf. An awful friend and an even worse person. You could tell she was shady right away and it just got worse and worse. She deserved an awful fate and I'm glad she got one. I wasn't shocked when she was the one haunting the phone rather than Hye Ryeong just because of the type of person she was.

Hye Ryeong-This poor girl!! Someone give her a hug too! I felt so bad for her over and over again. By the end I couldn't even blame her for her wish at all. Everyone was so awful to her, especially Si Won who was supposed to be her best friend. I was so angry for her. Sweet girl didn't deserve any of that.

I just loved this show so much. The plot was so well thought out. It was creepy and horrifying. I really had no issues with it all. Very easy to binge as well. I don't know if it's getting a season two, I don't think it is, but whether it does or not I loved it. I think it ended in a way that's fine to leave it where it is or could continue on. Highly recommend!

A fun watch if you don't take it too seriously

I wanted to watch this show for Mark to be honest. I love him so I wanted to check it out. I did really enjoy this show. It's a really fun watch. I think the humor is really good, the chemistry between the main four is excellent, and the story is decent.

I loved the relationship between the main four, especially during the last episode you can see much they've all grown to love each other. The different friendships between them all was really nice to see and very enjoyable. The two couples were enjoyable to watch as well and had fantastic chemistry with each other. The costuming was pretty and the sets were nice as well. The first wedding was absolutely stunning! The finale wedding was beautiful too. I loved seeing how they all talked about marriage and the future as well. I feel like in romances most times it's just "you date to get married" and I know they all do get married in the end, but it was nice to hear them talk about how it's okay to just be together forever without marriage as well.

I have to give a shoutout to Mark's acting, especially in the scenes finding out about the scam and those next scenes following. You could really feel the true heartbreak and betrayal from him. I love when an actor can say 100 hundred words just with their eyes and he is one of those actors. Absolutely love him!

I will say I think where my complaints are with this show is so quickly everyone got over everything. Something quite big would happen and we'd spend like no time on it before moving on.

Examples:
1. U's mom took so much money from him and we just kind of went past that pretty quickly. I know it wasn't really his money to begin with but still. You could say for this he's just used it though so I get why this one might not be a big deal for him.
2. The whole point of the show...the scammers. They were forgiven way too easily. The scenes we did get of the couples being broken up and North and Pai being upset about it were good, especially Pai's. Mark's acting really made those scenes. That being said, it felt like they'd give you this emotional scene and immediately follow it up with something goofy which almost took away from seriousness of what just happened (like the whole gecko thing). Personally, I just would've never gone back to U or Tim after doing what they did, especially Tim, but this is a romance, so I understand and knew they'd get back together which is fine, I just wish they would've been split longer and faced more consequences.
3. The grandpa straight up disowned North and Pai, left them on the street with nothing but the clothes on their backs, but we forgave him just because he gave the stuff back? Absolutely not. They just didn't seem to be upset with him at all. And why was the grandpa even mad at them in the first place? It's not their fault they were scammed, especially with the Pai and Tim situation. The grandpa has met Tim several times, I'm sure he did a background check on the man and everything, and he didn't catch it either so why just get mad and disown Pai because of that. I hated the grandfather after how he handled all that.

Some other things are that it just seemed like a lot of actual plots was put on the back burner. Like the whole reason Tim wanted to scam Pai in the first place was because he owed a lot of money to people (loan sharks I'm assuming), and because he wanted to bring his parents back...other than when we first found out Tim owed those people money, we never heard about it again until we saw a quick scene of him handing over a check in the finale. And when we met his parents, they said they didn't even want to come back and made him sell the house anyways.

Overall, I did enjoy the show and looked forward to the new episode every week. Was the show great? No, but it was fine. I think if you don't take the plot too seriously and just simply enjoy the couples and the jokes, you'll enjoy it a lot t

The first one is better

I watched the first movie and this one back-to-back and I have to say, the first one is way better. The budget for this movie felt a lot lower, I don't know if that's true but that's how I felt. There wasn't as many deaths or thriller scenes as the first one, so it felt like exciting to watch. Even though the movies are pretty similar in length it was a lot easier to get attached the characters in the first movie rather than this one for some reason. I liked the idea of the afterlife thing where Asuka was but for me it wasn't executed the best. The ending also just wasn't very good. Overall, in my opinion this movie was just very mid compared to the first one. Curious with how it ended what they would do with the third one.

A little better than mid

This was fine. I definitely liked the first half of the show better than the second half. The second half of the show got really repetitive and a little annoying with all the back and forth of their relationship. Iljo especially was just annoying me a lot of the decisions he was making. I think the actors did great and I think they had pretty good chemistry with each other as well. There was also more kissing in this than most Korean bl's which was nice. Overall, it was not bad, but not great.

Love that it's over

I absolutely hated this show from start to finish. The only reason I give this a 1.5 instead of a 1 is because of two reasons: the mermaid scenes were actually filmed in the water, and they trained with the tails; and secondly because of the scene in the finale where Phraphai went crazy was actually good.

This show was so terribly bad that I genuinely cannot say enough bad things about it and could go on all day. I'm just going to list the reasons it was awful.

1. All the acting was terrible (except for Phraphai's scene in the finale I previously mentioned)

2. The main leads had 0 chemistry at all. Nava and Phraphai had more chemistry than the other two ever did

3. So many unnecessary characters whose names I couldn't even tell you if I tried. Didn't really need more than the main five to be honest

4. The music,,,whoever did the music for this should never work in music again. That may sound harsh but the abrupt transitions between songs and the music not fitting scenes were just terrible. Someone with garage band could do better.

5. The main couple's relationship was so empty. They never talked about anything. they felt more like friends with benefits because their relationship had no depth at all.

6. Not enough time was spent on Ping and Phana's relationship. This couple could've been quite a likeable and strong couple if they got more than like 30 minutes out of an entire 8 hours spent on them. They should've either had more time or just not been a thing at all.

7. The plot felt pointless especially with how the show ended. I almost wish it ended with a tragedy to make it feel more worth it. I'm not just saying that because I didn't like the show either, I just think it would've made more sense for the plot if one or both of then died in the end or they just didn't end up together.

8. The whole show just felt like nothing was happening the entire time. This was only eight episodes and even that felt way too long.

I could actually keep going but these were definitely my biggest and most consistent complaints.

DO NO WATCH! NOT EVEN A GOOD CRINGE WATCH!
JUST STRAIGHT UP BAD!
