Xin Lei was once Xie Yu Chuan's at-will, a "dog" to be summoned at will, trampled upon at his mercy. Three years ago, her younger brother, Xin Yu, was tragically killed by the Xie family while trying to save her, and she vowed revenge. Xin Lei returned to the Xie family as their secretary, feigning compliance and using her beauty as a weapon, teaming up with Xie Yu Chuan's assistant, Chi Mo, to gradually sow discord within their powerful alliance, leading to Lin Qiao's imprisonment, the housekeeper's dismissal, her father's loss of power, and her close friend Lv Yan's defection. When Xie Yu Chuan was abandoned by everyone, Xin Lei revealed the truth at her brother's grave: all the gentleness was a trap. The devastated Xie Yu Chuan attempted suicide, but was surrounded by the police. (Source: Chinese = Douban || Translation = Google Translate) Edit Translation

Well executed, satisying revenge tale with FL kissing both ML & SML
I had just gone home after a fun sleepover with my besties. I switched on my iQIYI app and this drama appeared on screen. Huang Bo recent dramas tend to be a miss but I decided to give this drama a chance. I was extremely satisfied with this revenge tale. What I liked:
1. Revenge - Layered, complex & carefully executed. Refreshing twist. I loved that the story involves 2 people teaming up for a common goal.
2. Characters - Four fascinating characters that were wonderfully written. I considered Huang Bo's character as ML. SFL & SML's arc had depth. I liked that SFL's arc wasn't draggy.
3. Dynamics - Riveting interactions between FL & ML, FL & SML, FL & SFL, ML & SFL.
4. Acting - Superb performances by the cast.
5. Intimacy - The kiss with a tie was hot. I liked that she kissed both ML & SML.
6. FL characterisation - Flawed but focused.
7. Styling - Great outfits worn by FL, ML & SML.
8. Supporting characters - I liked FL's brother, SML's ex-fiancee.
What I disliked:
1. Antagonist - SFL was a psychopath, evil & possessive. Butler Yuan was nasty too. ML was scumbag for using FL as donor then plaything. ML's father was cruel.
2. Harm - I disliked the fact that FL was willing to harm herself to reach her goal.

## A Game Within a Game—And I Loved Every Move!
OVERALL IMPRESSION🌟Wow, this was psychological revenge done brilliantly! A dark, gripping thriller that stood well above the usual C-short. The twists kept twisting, and the suspense constantly had me wondering who was really in control. What impressed me most was that beneath all the plotting were complex characters whose grief, guilt, and longing gave the story genuine emotional depth.
WHAT I LIKED💖
• The FL was intelligent, calculating, and incredibly capable. I loved how she used her understanding of people to turn apparent vulnerability into a weapon.
• This was a fascinating game of cat and mouse, where tenderness could be just as dangerous as an open threat!
• Her strength didn’t erase her trauma. The contrast between her ability to help others and her struggle to show herself compassion was heartbreaking.
• I loved the understanding between the FL and the assistant. Their connection had emotional substance alongside that intense chemistry.
• His intelligence, steadfast support, and protectiveness were wonderful—and he certainly wasn’t difficult to look at!
• The villain’s arrogance made the psychological battle particularly compelling. Imagine being so impressed with yourself that you stop listening to anyone else!
WHAT I DISLIKED⚠️
• The antagonists’ cruelty, entitlement, and disregard for human life were genuinely disturbing.
• Watching the FL turn her pain against herself was particularly difficult. This is emotionally heavy material, not a lighthearted revenge romp.
PRODUCTION AND PERFORMANCES🎭
• Gou Yuxi was superb. Her expressions could shift from tender to chilling in an instant, making the FL fascinating to watch.
• Huang Bo went far beyond the usual scumbag role with a frighteningly dark, unhinged performance.
• Hu Wenle also delivered an outstanding performance, bringing warmth and conviction to the assistant.
• The writing, direction, filming, and handling of suspense made me forget I was watching a vertical drama. This deserves more praise than the average short!
FINAL THOUGHTS💭
I loved that the emotional relationships mattered just as much as the revenge. The conclusion felt satisfying and consistent with the weight of the story. Highly recommended for psychological revenge-thriller fans. Keep your eyes on the apparently innocent ones—this drama knows how to make you question everything!
