The film is about the relationship between Hong, a drug dealer, and Annie, his hostage. 10 years ago Annie's father was a dentist who worked with drug dealing gangsters however their plan went wrong when a mob boss was killed by police. His henchman Hong kidnapped ten year old Annie to Burma when he raised her as his daughter. Years later they ended up becoming lovers due to Stockholm Syndrome. I gotta admit this movie blurb wasn't my usual cuppa but somebody recommended it and I was curious. I really enjoyed it in the end and was pretty invested in the characters. The director, Cheng Er has a unique flair to his directing and I think it really brings you into the story. AND I really really admire characters who can think. I generally don't rewatch dramas/movies hence my low rewatch value but there was also one scene which probably traumatised me. Haha. Love the plot twists in here too!Was this review helpful to you?
