Room For Improvement
- there were a ton of characters/plot introduced and it was a bit confusing, but I figured out the main characters/plot fairly quickly
- that mom looked like a sibling
- some characters were kind of stupid to believe other things, knowing how dangerous their situation was, the emperor was stupid since he seemed to have 7 sons (at least 2 of which had died) and also didn't seem to realize how dangerous his situation was (the prince accurately called this out in episode 7)
- the writers could have been a bit more clear at the end of episode 8 (spoiler for the ending in my comment)

ONE historical CBL with a proper happy ending? No?

It's not a Chinese production, not even censored, then why does it not have a proper happy ending. It's implied to be happy, don't get me wrong, but there was absolutely zero reason not to develop it fully. Like, how do we know that's not his dream?
The story is pretty basic, there is a time travel element, but it does not play much into the plot. The leads have chemistry & the acting is okay. The second (or third) couple is actually women & they are super cute. Historical Yuri is just ethereal.
Technically the 2nd cp is actually the villain & his whatever that man was. I feel like they had a more intense relationship that the main cp. The villain was actually the most interesting element of the show.
The costumes & makeup is not too shabby, idk about the historical accuracy. I liked how they managed the varying styles of different regions. Whoever did the hair styling, thank you for your valuable service.
Just average in the technical department, editing mistakes, some bad lighting. Wish there was a cleverer incorporation of the time travel. Nothing epic, but worth a watch.

Story

I don't write long reviews s I will keep it simple.
Loved this series from start to finish. The MLs
were wonderful together and the chemistry was there for all to see and they didn't mind showing it. When they kissed they kissed instead of sticking their lips together. I loved the story the angst. the twists and turns..the betrayel Pei yan felt which caused suspicions. When I binge a series I'm invested 💯. The other 2 MLs the servant and the
scheming Crown Prince added another facet to the story. All in all a great series. Gagaoolala
have some great LGBTQ series. Thanks to everyone that took part. Definately worth a watch.. On the downside I hope we arent
over run with AI. I want flesh and blood.

Masterpiece of the past

I just finished watching this amazing masterpiece, and I am honestly at a loss for words. Never did I imagine that this series would move me as deeply as it did. From the very first episode until the end, it managed to capture my attention, stir my emotions, and leave a lasting impression that I know will stay with me for a long time.

As someone who has always felt a strong connection to the past, stories that explore history, memories, traditions, and the experiences of previous generations naturally captivate me. There is something incredibly powerful about seeing how the past continues to shape people, their choices, and their relationships. This series beautifully brought those elements to life in a way that felt authentic, emotional, and meaningful.

What impressed me most was how the story was able to balance its emotional depth with excellent storytelling. The characters felt real and relatable, each carrying their own struggles, dreams, and personal journeys. Their growth throughout the series was portrayed so well that I found myself becoming genuinely invested in their lives. The writing was thoughtful, the pacing was engaging, and every episode seemed to add another layer to an already rich and compelling narrative.

The cinematography, music, and overall production quality further elevated the experience. Every scene was crafted with care, creating moments that were both visually stunning and emotionally impactful. Glad I embarked on this lovely journey with "Journey With You"

After years of only scrolling through comments and drama info on MDL, Journey With You turned out to be the one that held that power over me to create an account and make my review debut. Simply because I want to support the drama, which secured a special place in my heart, and everyone who put effort into bringing it to life.
In my subjective viewpoint, I would rate it a 11 out of 10. Not because it's entirely immaculate, but because it clicked with me on many layers. Though one should be a bit more down-to-earth for a review, right? 😊

For starters, let's be fair. Just as every other drama that has been and will be made, it has its own imperfections. Knowing that there's room for improvement in anything, I want to base my evaluations on two points for this drama:
1) Does it have potential? Or did it mess things up?
My answer is that Journey With You has a glittering potential. Relatively speaking, you can point out that some things can be better executed. But given the budget, the facilities, and the limited filming period, the plot delivered well and unfolded at a nice pace. They gave us a glimpse of the past so we can internalize the situations that escalated and the relationships that developed over time.
The almost-tangible love between the main couple (Yin Qi and Pei Yanzhi) has been the biggest highlight of the drama for me. The chemistry felt so genuine and unmatched. I can't even begin to describe how much it got me hooked on the screen.
So it made me say, "It is promising. It has the essential elements, and they did their best with what they had in their hands about polishing it"

2) Does it bring something more or better than the precedents?
My answer is YES. Historical Chinese BL is a genre that I'm quite into, and I honestly dislike making comparisons, but now it feels like a clear way to put it. The cinematography, especially in intimate scenes, seemed noticeably improved and suited to the general atmosphere.
To me, the plot presented more serious substance than we've seen before, such as time-travel, unexpectedly curiosity-arousing various side-stories, and a captivating romance that invited us to witness MUCH further -which are all to my personal liking. Very significantly, the dosage of each subject was just right. The romance stood out perfectly, neither disregarding the other aspects nor being overshadowed by them. We had bits of everything balanced out well.

Overall, I pretty much enjoyed and waited impatiently for every episode of Journey With You, and it straightforwardly went to my list of "To be rewatched many times." ❤️

adoro bls de época e esse aqui foi bem feito, porém existem pontos que eu não gostei
1- essa questão do envenenamento ser no último episódio e ser dolorido assistir até os últimos 5 minutos. eu sou do time que quer que o último ep seja mostrando eles felizes depois de MUITA DOR eu senti que isso essa questão deveria ter sido feito antes ou pelo menos terminado isso no começo de um episódio e o resto só felicidade,não essa tristeza toda no final do ep.
2 eu sei que eu to pedindo demais da china,meio que deixou subentendido o relacionamento das meninas, mas queria que fosse mais explícito, são tão fofas, mereciam.
não queria que o irmão dele morresse, mas né não teve jeito eu to numa limbo de ter gostado ou não….
meio que é isso!

Amour, trahison et réincarnation...

Comme une pièce de monnaie, la vérité a deux faces. Journey with You explore la quête de vérité dans une intrigue aux complots politiques mystérieux et à une histoire d'amour tendre et intense.

Les acteurs sont convaincants. Certes, l'ensemble manque parfois de naturel, cependant, Tang Bi De (Yin Qi) et Wang Jing Han (Pei Yan Zhi) livrent des personnages émouvants. J'ai apprécié la douceur intense de leur relation : des sentiments écrasants ponctués de tendres regards. Ils possèdent une belle alchimie et donnent vie à une relation charmante.

La réincarnation est intéressante, servant directement les motivations de Yin Qi. Il croit à une vérité, et pourtant même si les faits s'alignent, certaines barrières persistent. La narration est dynamique et évite les répétitions ou les scènes brouillonnes. L'histoire reste fluide jusqu'au bout. À l'exception d'une fin précipitée douce-amère. C'est un final libre d'interprétation, et si je ne suis pas contre, j'aurais préféré une fin claire.

Après Kill to Love, Journey with You peut être une nouvelle et merveilleuse porte ouverte pour le BL historique chinois. J'adorerais voir des productions comme celle-ci fleurir davantage, notamment grâce à sa mise en scène, ses décors, ses costumes et sa magnifique photographie.

En bref, Journey with You est une agréable surprise avec une intrigue mature, une alchimie tendrement intense et une production soignée.

Con el corazón en la garganta hasta el final.

Realmente está historia es muy buena, tiene tantos puntos perfectos, al amor, las decisiones, la traiciones de algunas partes hasta incluso había información que dar en el último capítulo, todo tan bien ejecutado, dios mío yo tuve todo el final con una tensión sobre que pasaría con Qi y Yanzhi.

Debo decir que hasta llegué a entender porqué ZhangYao era tan malo, al final de cuentas hasta su propia madre solo lo utilizo hasta el final de sus días, Ziming se sacrificio haciendo que el otro se inmole para que Yanzhi y Qi tengan su amor eterno 🤧

Me hubiera gustado un poco más de desarrollo de la Princesa con la chica del bar pero aún así lo que se veía de ambas era muy lindo.

Pobre mi Qi, estar separado de su amor por tres años sin saber cómo esta, pero decido a buscarlo, pero él fue quien lo busco y apareció, es preciosa está historia, cargada de drama, traiciones, búsqueda de acceder al trono y lo que podría ser un amor imposible pero no.
