Shimizu Mugi is a thirty-year-old former fashion magazine editor who has lost her career, her dreams, and her love life, leaving her at rock bottom. Meanwhile, Yoneda Mame is a twenty-three-year-old fermentation-food enthusiast who runs the izakaya Daizudo but struggles to attract customers. When these two complete opposites meet, they set out to transform the restaurant by combining Mugi's experience as an editor with Mame's culinary skills. Through delicious fermented dishes and their interactions with the people who visit the restaurant, the two discover ways of living that are true to themselves and begin rebuilding their respective lives.
