That said, I couldn't give it this movie a 10 because there are some problematic ideas about beauty expressed, specifically about skin color. As I watch more Thai movies, I'm realizing the prejudice against darker skin is in fact very real and pressing in Thai culture. Although this isn't a focus of this movie, the idea that darker girls are ugly is clearly present (whether it's completely endorsed or not,.) That makes me concerned about younger girls of color seeing this film without discussing it first.

There are bad point's about this movie though. As already stated by another reviewer, beauty is one of the themes in this film, and most probably know that, not only in thai media, but in most asian media, light skin is seen as beautiful. Luckily, in this movie, they make up for it by the end of the movie. I don't want to spoil the movie so i won't say why. Another bad point was the ending. I just felt it was a little childish/unrealistic, but don't make that stop you from watching the film. it isn't THAT bad.
Overall, the movie isn't one to skip!

High School is that time when you haven't made up your mind on what you want to do for the rest of your life. It's that time when you don't know what you're good at. That time when you were unsure of everything... even yourself. That time when an upcoming test was like the end of the world. That time when friendships mattered a lot.
High School is that time when love is more pure and innocent.
Crazy Little Thing Called Love is about High School. Every time I watch it, it brings back so many memories that are both happy and sad. It made me remember the feeling I got when I first received a love letter from a boy who was from the top section in a differently school. The boy who patiently waited outside my school so that he could accompany me home. I didn't know whether I should hide or walk up to him and ask him what he was doing in our school. I always had butterflies in my stomach around him.
I was young and I didn't know what to do.
CLTCL will allow you to reminisce about that time when we were just dreamers. When it was easy to fall in love. When life was so full of possibilities. It was like waiting for an adventure to begin.

ok tbh, this movie was so cute and had me feeling butterflies in my stomach, even though i wasnt the female lead..( how i wish i was...)
-the acting and the plot made it seem so real, like i was literally watching a true love story of a couple.
-this was that kind of movie where you think that it wouldn't go as what you had expected.
-this movie had its hilarious parts, heartbreaking ones, and scenes that would totally make you say "awwwwh"
-i loved this movie NOT only because mario maurer is so gorgeous but because everything was packed in this film. Friendship, ambition, love, family, and all that made this movie probably one of the best i have watched yet.
-i loved the music, it was fit for the scenes. i had like a couple of this movie's songs in my phone
-a 10 for a rewatch! because is there even a person who wouldn't rewatch such a perf movie like this? no, but seriously, i wouldnt get tired watching this all day. i mean it.
PS: this movie had me begging for a p'shone in my life.

The Actors are great actually totally great haha :) i like them both so much they giving very nice in fact that i my self cannot get over Nam is so much pretty and Mario is totally cute..^O^ They really both good actors that you cannot even feel weary or tired watching them.
Story is really interesting at the same time it worth to watch it's something most of the girls and teenagers out there can relate obviously when we like someone we do everything to change are self maybe not change but in terms of we trying are best to became pretty or handsome in any aspects because we want them to notice as more. (ohh... common your so dumb if your told me your not trying to be attractive to your crush or boyfriend/girlfriend) Peace just saying....
Back to the story it has almost everything that you can easily relate of Love, Friendship, Family, Study, Life and Drama.
OK.. Music is also Nice i don't have anything to say about that.
Recommendation ... Yeah i totally want you guys to watch this specially teenagers out there highly recommend it !!! and one more last month i also watch this movie Pee Mak it's also nice try this out if you have time :)

At school, she's lost her heart to her popular and outgoing schoolmate Shone. Although she doesn't feel up to his standards, she uses this one-sided love to build herself up into the woman she'd like to be - a studious, pretty young lady. What I liked is that she didn't stoop to using the boy-catching tricks of the more popular girls at her school. Instead, she improved herself through study and by trying different school activities.
Many reviewers have commented on the discussion of skin color as a method of rating beauty. While it comes up in conversations, I don't think Nam is all that worried about it. Mostly, she is just growing up into someone comfortable in her own skin - from a gawky, glasses and braces wearing plain teen to someone who feels able to wear more fashionable clothes and hairstyles. By the end of the movie, even her friends have found their own styles as well.
The secondary relationships in this film are also very well done. The actors playing Shone and his father showed their very affectionate bond. The actresses playing the high school girls also did a very natural job. They especially seemed to respect and enjoy their madcap man-crazy teacher - a modern Ms. Malaprop.
Music wise, the score seemed just fine. It just didn't seemed designed to catch you with a great "hooky" OST.
As a rewatch, I wouldn't rule it out. I almost wish it was a drama format instead of a movie - that would have allowed some of the reasons for Nam's and Shone's behavior to be better explained.
Give it a try - it was a very enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

The re watchable value is linked to the pace of the screenplay, non-boring elements in the visual, peppy music, comedy, where all these facts are synced together forming the core of this movie.
The performance of the lead actors is very very good.
This is my first Thai romantic comedy movie (watched many Tony Jaa action movies.) I am satisfied much with this movie which has made me to explore more on the Thai romantic comedy movies.
9/10

First time watching this ever
I didn’t really hop on the Mario Maurer craze back in the day so this is my first time watching this movie. To be honest, it wasn’t all that and I mean this in the nicest way possible. Plot-wise it’s nothing new, even in 2010. I’m especially not on board the trope where they made this naturally fair-skinned actress tan so they can say/imply she’s ugly THEN when she suddenly loses the brown paint after “puberty”, they made all the boys fall for her. Kind of off-putting. Then again, I do have to cut them some slack since this movie was 10 years ago.Acting-wise, Mario Maurer wasn’t impressive but he wasn’t bad either. I feel like he did the best he could with this poorly-written character. Baifern, however, did phenomenal especially at 18 years old. She was able to show off different kinds of emotions and gestures throughout the film. I have to say though, the teacher/adviser was HILARIOUS.
I feel like this movie was most people’s first Thai movie so sentimentality largely affected their ratings. If I first watched this back when I was younger, this movie would probably hold a special place in my heart so I completely understand where people are coming from. Hell, I probably would rewatch this when I just want a movie that isn’t complicated and so complex. And, I mean, who doesn’t like a light, slow-burn romance?!

Good Enough
" Crazy Little Thing Called Love " is a pretty good school romance movie. And, even though it's oldish, it feels fresh. The story has its flaws, like the ending and the awkward transition of Nam from the 'ugly' duckling to a pretty girl in a blink of an eye. However, it is fun, with lots of cute moments and some funny parts. The dialogues are clever and entertaining too.
As for the romance, it was adorable, youthful and just right. It had its dramas, but, overall, it was smooth and interesting.
The performances, finally, were all great from everyone in the cast.
So, overall, eight out of ten.

Nostalgic and heart-fluttering, but with definite flaws
So just to get it out of the way — this story has massive issues around colorism and beauty standards, and just on principle I'm not a big fan of the "makeover" trope. With that being said, I really really really still loved this. It's a little cringy at times but I felt the nostalgia, the insecurity, and the butterflies. The leads were perfect.
This movie had me by the throat until the godforsaken 9 year time skip at the end. I will never enjoy those.
? Favorite Scene: Chon's reaction to Top kissing Nam's cheek. My heart...
