Top 10 Male Tear Jearkers (Korean)

No matter what the genre, there is never a drama without a crying scene.

Whether it’s that moment when dreadful realization slaps them in the face, or when they realize they don’t get the girl, or they see her happy with someone else. When they find out they were betrayed by their best friend or when they feel that things just won’t get any better. When they can’t take care of their family or  they're diagnosed with cancer or some sort of incurable disease.

The ability to make the viewers feel empathy and cry along with them isn't always possible - unless you are a big softy who cries for the simplest things. If you are a rock - like myself, then when those heart-wrenching, ridiculously sad scenes come about an the actor can make you feel like it’s your heart that broke or your best friend died.  Even if it’s something simple like losing your puppy, you have to give them their props.
This is a compilation of the top 10 male Korean actors that could make anyone cry.

#10  Lee Donghae

He is known mainly as a member of Super Junior and for his charisma on stage, but when it comes to emotional scenes he defiantly knows how to work it. Check out his performance in Its Ok, Daddy’s Girl, and Panda and Hedgehog.

#9 Lee Jang Woo

When I initially thought of this list, of the scenes that came to mind were many of Lee Jang Woo’s in Man of Honor where he played the mistreated son. I must say I was completely floored by his acting. He actually had me hyperventilating with him. Even if it was for that one time he had to place in this list. Check out his performance in Man of Honor.

#8  Lee Dong Wook

I am not very sure about his other works excepting Wild Romance and Scent of a Woman, however his performance in Scent of a Woman was beyond words. I could literally feel his love by watching him break down into tears.

#7 Lee Min Ho

The very first Korean drama I ever completed was Personal Taste and after seeing it I completely fell in deep. When it comes to emotional scenes this guy’s eyes are no joke. I love his versatility as an actor, whether he is playing a matchmaker, a spoiled cheabol (Boys Before Flowers), the masked vigilante (City Hunter) or, the super powered ancient warrior (Faith), he knows how to work his crowd over every time

#6  Jang Geun Suk

Having been able to eat at the hearts of many from a young age, and even more so now, when it comes to those emotional scenes Geun Suk more than delivers. Whether he is playing the hurt musician or artist like in Love Rain, You’re Beautiful, Mary Stayed Out All Night or Beethoven Virus, or he is playing a kid with a psychological problem like in Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do, or a teenage dad in Baby and Me, this is one actor who knows how to work it.

#5  Hyun Bin

My very first Hyun Bin anything was A Millionaire’s First Love, and I was actually at the brink of bawling my eyes out (am a rock remember). Some of his other emotional scenes can be found in many of the Hyun Bin classics such as my name is My Name Is Kim Sam Soon, Secret Garden, The World They Live In and many more.

#4  Jung Woo Sung

Sigh…………………… this guy. Just wow. If you are looking for emotional then his performances in A Moment to Remember and Padam Padam will explain all you need to know about this amazing actor.

#3  Kim Soo Hyun

He might be the youngest on our list but this guy knows how to cry. No matter what the scene or what the cause, he displays his talent with enthusiasm and so naturally that you have no choice but to feel it with him. Check out his amazing performances in Giant, Dream High, The Moon That Embraces the Sun, Will It Snow for Christmas? and Father's House and see for yourself that he more than deserves the #3 spot .

#2  Lee Jun Ki

I first started paying attention to this cutie after watching Iljimae (defiantly one of the best dramas ever).  After almost every episode it had me thinking how could things possibly get worse, and of course they did (every time).  The thing that kept me moving on to the next episode each time without fail was Lee Jun Ki and his powerful performance. Even I would bawl if I was in his situation, and he made me feel like if I was every time. He had me locked completely. You can see some more of Jun Ki's excellent tear jerking scenes in other dramas such as Hero and Arang and the Magistrate.

#1  Nam Goong Min

I don’t know how he does it but this guy gets me every time. After seeing him in Alice in Cheongdamdong I was reminded of how he had me on a roller coaster back in Can You Hear My Heart, and without a doubt (in my opinion) he belongs to this number one spot.
