Down a dimly lit alleyway, the detective (not Detective Byun) is searching for a nearby address. Unbeknownst to him, he is being followed by a mysterious man. The detective stops to text Detective Byun that he will be late to meet up with Detective Byun. At that moment the man inches closer, and it's revealed that he is Grandpa Jo's little minion.

Hae Woo is completely lost. All the clues that lead her to Japan say that the boy was Yi Soo, but after sending a photo of the young Yi Soo, the man who took him tells her that the boy who stayed with him is not the boy in the picture. She begins to think that the man is either lying or…Yi Soo changed..? She then begins to wonder if not Yi Soo, then perhaps it is she, herself, who has changed, because she thought that she would be able to recognize Yi Soo no matter what. She briefly makes  eye contact with Yi Soo, then breaks it as she stands up to leave.

Before she takes a step forward, Yi Soo mentions, “Most people want to believe what they can see, but for you… it looks like you want to see what you believe.” Hae Woo turns back towards Yi Soo and replies, “It could be that I’m trying to see a truth I don’t want to believe.” When Yi Soo asks why, Hae Woo replies that it is so she can find Yi Soo. He asks why she tries so hard to find him, and she answers that she believes Yi Soo wants her to find him, so that she can stop him. With that, she finally leaves.

Her response flusters Yi Soo, and he wants to go after her, but he holds himself back. He receives a call from the caller ID “Friend”.

The detective prepares to leave on his motorcycle with the old picture he found of Grandpa Jo with an unknown man. Before he mounts his motorcycle to leave, he hears an odd clicking sound, but brushes the noise off as nothing. As it turns out, Grandpa Jo’s minion is hiding in the bushes watching the detectives every move until the detective finally drives off. Creepy.

Back at the Jo mansion, Grandpa Jo is in his study. It is safe to assume that Grandpa Jo is talking on the phone to his minion following the detective. Grandpa Jo is still frustrated by the mystery of who sent the package/picture to Kang Yi Soo. He emphasizes to his minion the importance of figuring that out, and then he asks how Man Chul was killed. I’m wondering how that has any relevance to what he is trying to figure out. o.O

The detective arrives at the police station and begins doing research on Grandpa Jo in hopes of finding something that can reveal the identity of the man in the photo. He then calls Detective Byun, who was actually on his way to the café to see Yi Hyun, to ask if perhaps Grandpa Jo had any relation to the case the Man Chul was (not) investigating 12 years ago (the hit-and-run). Detective Byun tells him that he doesn’t think so and wants to know why the detective is asking. The detective doesn’t have any solid conclusions yet, so he tells Detective Byun that they can meet late and he’ll tell him. Before Detective Byun can get a word in, the detective hangs up3.

Soo Hyun, who apparently was already in the café, sees Detective Byun in front of the café. When Detective Byun asks what Soo Hyun is doing there, Soo Hyun replies that he is there upon Hae Woo’s request to keep an eye on Yi Hyun. (Or is he?? Does anyone else recall Hae Woo asking Soo Hyun to do such a thing? CONSPIRACY ALERT! Soo Hyun could be Yi Soo’s “Friend”, eh? Eh? … Perhaps it’s just me thinking like that.)

Once Yi Hyun gets off works, she joins her father and Soo Hyun at the table. She greets Soo Hyun as an ahjussi, which he is quick to ask why she refers to him as ‘ahjussi’. She replies that if not ‘ahjussi’, then what? He suggests ‘oppa’, but Yi Hyun quickly swats that idea away by telling him that she doesn’t call anyone ‘oppa’ (because, of course, that’s a title she still saves for her brother… awwwh♥). While the three converse, Yi Soo looks in on them from the window. After a brief moment of seeing his sister, he leaves. As he walks away, Yi Hyun happens to catch sight of him and comments, “Like Yi Soo oppa, it’s a customer with a really nice voice."

Detective Byun initially pays no attention to the comment, but then BING! *Light bulb* Detective Byun jumps out of his chair and runs outside; Soo Hyun follows right behind. By the time the Detective Byun gets to the sidewalk, he loses sight of Yi Soo. As soon as Soo Hyun joins him and asks what’s going on, the detective assures him that it’s just nothing and heads back in the café. Soo Hyun remains on the sidewalk looking in the direction Yi Soo went in. For a very brief moment, Yi Soo turns around, and he and Soo Hyun make (in my opinion) a very meaningful moment of eye contact. (From this, I am dead set on believing that Soo Hyun is Yi Soo’s “Friend”. There’s a definite possibility that I may  be wrong, but for now I’m sticking to this.)

Meanwhile, Joon Young is out drinking with his father. They discuss the rumors surrounding the Hae Woo’s family, since it was revealed that Prosecutor Oh may have been involved. The prosecutor tells Joon young that some parts of the rumor are true, yet most of the rumors are just speculations that make so sense. Joon Young asks his father specifically about which of the rumors are true. After a second of contemplation, his father replies that it is true that Man Chul and Hae Woo’s father contacted each other the day of Man Chul’s death. However, this wasn’t exactly news to Joon Young, as he tells his father that Hae Woo had already told him that much.

Yi Soo is wandering around thinking about the conversation he had with Hae Woo earlier. The moment of her admitting that )) replays in his mind. He’s quickly awaken from that thought when Secretary Jang appears before him. As the two head upstairs, they pass the anchorwoman who was involved with Hae Woo’s father, who the secretary easily recognizes because she is apparently a TV addict, which she reveals to Yi Soo in the elevator. The elevator arrives to her floor and she departs. Just before the doors completely close, Yi Soo quickly thanks the secretary for the juice, and the two go on their way.

Hae Woo and Joon Young arrive home around the same time. They greet each other in front of the mansion and initially discuss each other’s misfortune with dealing with reporters. Joon Young then asks what Hae Woo was up to, as she didn’t answer her phone when he called. She hides the fact that she met with Yi Soo and tells Joon Young that she ate dinner with a colleague, but left her phone in the car by mistake. To quickly change the subject, she asks what he was up to. He tells her he met with his father, which sparks a conversation about the rumor. Joon Young is still a bit curious about his father’s involvement, because he noticed his father’s sensitivity on the matter. However, Hae Woo is quick to assure Joon Young that Prosecutor Oh is not involved at all.

Later that night, Hae Woo spends all night trying to connect the dots on her theory regarding the young Yi Soo and Yi Soo. As she watches the video she recorded of Yi Soo 12 years ago, she compares a current picture of Yi Soo to the Yi Soo in the video. On a board, she writes, “Different faces—why?"

Once morning comes, Hae Woo wastes no time to quickly get out and investigate, heading straight for Yi Soo’s apartment. When Joon Young awakes, he goes into her office and notices her note on the board. Afterwards, Joon Young receives word from his secretary that yet another article regarding Hae Woo’s family has hit the fan.

http://media.mydramalist.com/cache/igh/368074594710285548_37ce9360_f.jpg

Hae Woo is standing outside of Yi Soo’s apartment door, but is unable to bring herself to ring the doorbell. Yi Soo senses that she may be at his door, and hurries to see. Unfortunately, he’s too late, as Hae Woo had already run away… she booked it to the elevator and made a quick escape as if she were a kid playing ding-dong-ditch.

Back at the Jo mansion, it turns out the article exploits the affair between Hae Woo’s father and the anchorwoman. Grandpa Jo is so furious that he threw a glass at Hae Woo’s father’s face. When Hae Woo’s father meets with Joon Young, he is advised to admit to his affair and take responsibility of his wrongdoing for the sake of Gaya Hotel’s image.

The detective, who is still trying to uncover the identity of the man next to Grandpa Jo in the photo, is at the library going through several different books and archives. Coincidentally, Yi Soo is there too browsing through books on astronomy. As Yi Soo passes the table the detective is at, the picture falls to the floor. Yi Soo generously picks it up and hands it back to the detective before heading to a section of the library.

http://media.mydramalist.com/cache/e2b/368090286852169158_300572bb_f.jpg

After a moment’s thought, Yi Soo suddenly recognizes the detective, but by the time he walks back to the table, the detective is gone. Looking at the books left behind by the detective, Yi Soo notices the page the detective left off on. He sees the man that is pictured and reads the caption, “Jo In Seok (The only photo existing.) Yi Soo immediately knows that the detective’s life may be in danger, so he calls his “friend” and informs him that they have to find the detective “before it’s too late."

At Gaya Hotel, Detective Byun and his subordinate are taking Hae Woo’s father’s statement on the matter of his affair with the anchorwoman. Since he is admitting to his affair with the anchorwoman, he uses the affair as an alibi for the day Man Chul was murdered. However, Detective Byun informs Hae Woo’s father that even with a testimony from the anchorwoman, he still needs corroborating evidence for a solid alibi. Joon Young then suggests taking out the black box from his car to prove his story.

The detective then asks Hae Woo’s father about the smart key, but he has no idea where he could have lost it. He grows more nervous when the detective begins asking why he and Man Chul were exchanging several calls with each other, and insists that there is no connection between them. Unconvinced, the detective suggest that they search his call logs and back accounts, but Joon Young steps in and dissuades the detective from doing so, as it may draw more attention to the family issues.

At the prosecutor’s office, Hae Woo is in the middle of a very serious discussion with Prosecutor Oh. She hands him her letter of resignation, which he has no qualms about accepting. The thing is, she’s not actually resigning. She basically hands in her letter of resignation as a way of reserving a moment for when she does decide to resign…? She tells Prosecutor Oh, “If the time comes where being a prosecutor becomes meaningless for me, I’ll leave my position of my own free will, without any pressure from others."

Now we’re at the scene from the beginning of the episode. The detective gets captured by Grandpa Jo’s minion. In the meantime, Yi Soo receives a call from “Friend” while Secretary Jang listens in on the call. It seems “Friend” is informing Yi Soo about the detective’s predicament, to which Yi Soo admits that he hopes the picture hasn’t gotten into the hands of Grandpa Jo.

Yi Soo then tells “Friend” that he’s changed his mind, and tells him to, “Send it to Prosecutor Jo personally."

The detective wakes up in a dark abandoned warehouse, much like the one Man Chul was found in. Grandpa Jo’s minion asks the detective if anyone else has seen the picture, and the detective quickly responds that no one else has seen it. Grandpa Jo’s minion begins clicking his pen, and it starts to drive the detective mad. He begs the man to stop with the clicking. Stepping into the light, the man obliges, and says, “Is that all you want?” He basically hints, “You don’t want to live? You just want me to stop clicking the pen?” … yeah, the detective is a dead man.

The next day, Detective Byun is trying to get a hold of the detective, but the detective isn’t answering his phone. Detective Byun’s subordinate then runs in and delivers the unfortunate news about the detective having been murdered.

Later that day, Gaya Hotel is hosting its anniversary party. They are also planning to announce the merger between them and Blue Hotel; however, unbeknownst to them, Blue Hotel already belongs to Giant Hotel. Yi Soo and Secretary Jo arrive at the party and are greeted by Joon Young.

http://media.mydramalist.com/cache/0rh/368112255850806212_c698d5df_f.jpg

Before the three can converse any further, Joon Young’s assistant takes him away to tell him that Blue Hote’s CEO (aka the pedophile) will not be attending the party. To make matters worse, another one of Joon Young’s workers approaches him with a press release from Blue Hotel, this states that it will merge with Giant Hotel. Joon Young then approaches Yi Soo and tells him that they need to talk. As Joon Young leads the way, Yi Soo receives a call from “Friend”.

Meanwhile, Detective Byun has arrived at the scene of the crime where the detective was murdered. Upon inspecting the body, it appears that the detective was murdered the same way Man Chul was murdered. (Gauged thigh, circle of blood on the chest, etc.) It seems that “Friend” called Yi Soo to inform him that someone the detective was murdered, and it seems that the murder made it seem like it’s the same person who murdered Man Chul. Yi Soo is flustered by the matter, and immediately knows that it is Grandpa Jo’s doing. Yi Soo looks across the floor and meets the gaze of Grandpa Jo. The two exchange a prolonged stare, which Hae Woo notices.

http://media.mydramalist.com/cache/ric/368124809564313100_29051610_f.jpg

Yi Soo then leaves to follow Joon Young out, but bumps into Yi Hyun. As they talk, Hae Woo inches closer, but before she can get to them, Yi Soo continues out after Joon Young. Once Yi Soo finally joins Joon Young in the corridor, Joon Young then tells Yi Soo that they should talk in his office. Again, Joon Young leads the way, but as Yi Soo is about to follow, Hae Woo’s father burst out of the party calling after Yi Soo. Hae Woo’s father was just informed of the merger, and is completely bent out of shape about it.

http://media.mydramalist.com/cache/uc0/368137363277819988_fb7b6347_f.jpg

He confronts Yi Soo about it, accusing Giant Hotel of betraying Gaya Hotel, but Yi Soo coolly replies that “Business is just business.” Hae Woo’s father is overcome by his frustration and goes to take a swing at Yi Soo; however, Joon Young is there to hold him back. Unfortunately, the damage is already done, as reporters witness the entire ordeal. Joon Young tells the reporters that they will hold a press conference after the party, and then leads Yi Soo away to his office. While they make their way to Joon Young’s office, an employee of Gaya Hotel delivers an envelope to Hae Woo.

http://media.mydramalist.com/cache/dma/368134224849443266_ddee1477_f.jpg

Once in the privacy of the office, Joon Young asks Yi Soo if he knew of the merger all along. Yi Soo confirms that he knew, and asks if Joon Young has any more questions. Joon Young is clearly disappointed by the answer and replies that business seems to be more important to Yi Soo than having trust and being loyal to people. Yi Soo then states that he doesn’t trust people, to which Joon Young tries to insist that by not trusting people, he will lose them and then lose everything. Yi Soo quickly counters Joon Young’s notion by revealing that he has nothing to lose.

http://media.mydramalist.com/cache/al6/368131086421066544_e14f8564_f.jpg

Inside the envelope that was delivered to Hae Woo is a USB. She immediately goes to the security room, where one of the workers surveying the screens tells her to use the laptop, because it’s not linked to the security cameras. As Hae Woo goes to plug in the USB, the worker is called away due to some technical failure in the ballroom, leaving Hae Woo in the room alone. Once the USB is connected to the laptop, a video of her father (basically) admitting to being the driver of the hit-and-run accident begins to play. As Hae Woo continues to watch the video, back in the ballroom, the audio plays over the speakers. The entire party listens in to the conversation.
