Hello and welcome to my newest Stalker Guide ~ This time I am stalking Mizushima Hiro, an actor whose name every Japanese drama watcher should know. If you are new to Japanese dramas or haven't watched any Japanese dramas I'll be nice and give you a short introduction on who this actor is.
By the way, he was the very first actor whom I knew by the name since he acted in my very first drama which I watched in 2008. In other ways he was my very first drama crush hehehe ~
Mizushima Hiro
- Real Name: Saito Tomohiro
- Lived in Switzerland at the age of 6 to 12
- Profession: Actor, model, writer
- Appeared in many Japanese dramas
- Wife: Singer Ayaka
- Started his acting career in 2000 with Kamen Rider Kabuto (thank you for clarifying this to me ^^)
- Stopped his acting career in 2010 to take care of his sick wife
(OMG How romantic is that? Though I was really sad back then...)
- In 2013 it was announced that he is coming back with a new movie that is to be released in 2014
(Not sure if you'll believe or not but I was literally screaming, crying, gasping and running through my home when I read the news.)
Okay now you all have some idea on who he is and what he does, right ? Let's get this started ! I am going to list his roles that I have seen from earliest to the newest. Not in the order I watched them
Gokusen 2 - Misawa Hiro, one of the "background characters" in the class 3-D
Not much to say about this role since he was one of the characters who just were in the background during the class, fight and graduation scenes. This was his very first acting role
So basically I think I shouldn't have included this... However I did since everyone begins their careers as a side characters, right?
Brother Beat - Yoshi, a friend of one of the main leads
In this drama MizuHiro plays Yoshi, a friend of Riku (played by Hayami Mokomichi). I don't remember seeing many scenes of him but... I had to include it in this because his character is a swimming instructor / life savior at a swimming hall. So lots of shirtless scenes with him and Hayami Mokomichi hahahaha *fangirl awakens*
Once again I couldn't find many pictures but here is a proof that he indeed was in this drama ~~ Enjoy ^^
Hana Kimi - Nanba Minami, a flirty, slightly perverted, happy-go-lucky, super charismatic senpai.
This was my very first drama ever. I watched this in 2008 and so far I have seen this about... 4 times? Right now I actually feel like watching it again... Oh why am I such an addict D: This drama is very special to me.
If you ask me, this is THE drama that made Mizushima Hiro popular. Of course he had some main roles before this but since I haven't watched Pink no Idenshi or Kamen Riders I don't know how popular he was during those dramas... But after Hana Kimi he started to get more and more main roles.
Anyhow in Hana Kimi, MizuHiro plays Nanba Minami. He is the dorm leader of Dorm 2 (aka the main dorm of the drama). His character is flirty, happy-go-lucky character who still is very good dorm leader and very responsible one. To me he is one of the most important characters in the drama. He definitely is the best "version" of the character (even though I haven't read the original manga...yet).

Tokyo DOGS - Kudo Maruo, a hot blooded detective who is a former delinquent
OKAY CAN WE JUST DEDICATE A MINUTE TO HIS HAIRY FACE?!
I never thought I'd see an Asian who looks better with facial hair than without facial hair hahahaha XDDD
But MizuHiro looks so damn good with facial hair ~~ Like DAYUM YOU FOINE!
Erm... Let's move on shall we?
In Tokyo DOGS Mizushima Hiro plays Kudo Maruo, a detective who is really hot-blooded and an expert in fighting. His stylish appearance and never ending interest on girls and group dates makes his character. Everything he does or thinks are mismatching with his work partner Takakura So (played by Oguri Shun). Somehow they still manages to work together and solve the cases ~
Other remarkable roles by Mizushima Hiro ~
100 Scene no Koi - One actor, three totally different characters in three love stories. Each episode are 15 minute long and tells a different story.
Zettai Kareshi - A drama that needs no introduction. In this one Mizushima Hiro plays a happy yet unlucky 2nd male lead.
Mei-chan no Shitsuji - A drama with lots of eyecandy. MizuHiro plays the butler of the main female lead and falls in love with her. Find out what happens while the story moves on.
MR. BRAIN - A funny detective in a team lead by a super weird doctor played by Kimura Takuya. Lots of famous actors have appearances in this drama. A drama that no one should miss !
Drop - In this movie MizuHiro is the leader of the school gang. A movie about good looking boys fighting hahaha ~
Beck - Minami Ryusuke, super talented guitarist in a rock band. A movie that has a super famous cast ~ A must watch for every MizuHiro fan.
And last but not least I know we all are excited on his comeback movie, Kuroshitsuji. It is scheduled to be released next year ! I can't wait ~ Just look at that perfect picture. This man is perfect ! I am so damn super excited on this movie. I should finish watching the anime before the movie comes out hehehe ~~
