Weekend Movie Picks:
Friendship and Love Themed
Below are some of the movie recommendations that revolves around Love and Friendship theme.
In some it is the main plot whereas some a major part of the plot but still a significant factor in each of 'em. Be ready with tissues while you watch them since almost all are tearjerker.
From Korea:
Genre: Friendship, Romance, Drama Year: 2008
Synopsis: Jung Won (Cha Ye Ryeon) and Eun Gyu (Jang Geun Suk), even though they met in unwelcome and unexpected circumstances, end up liking each other. When Eun Gyu introduces Jung Won his best friend Hee Won (Jung Eui Chul) their relationship is affected, because in past some unpleasant things happened between Jung Won and Hee Won..My thoughts: In my earlier years of Drama addiction, I was soo into rom-coms that, when every drama-addict around me were hyping about this movie I didn't give it a damn because everyone said it was a tearjerker. But when I was going through my first drama slump, I gave it a try and thanks to it !!! Since then my drama addiction has branched out tremendously beside the rom-coms (which I still like)
Synopsis: Jung Han Kyung (Lee Chung Ah) is a country girl who has come to Seoul in order to live with her mother after her father's death, and gets up entangled with two popular guys Ban Hae Won (Jo Han Sun) and Jung Tae Sung (Kang Dong Won). This sounds like a typical love triangle story but there is two major twist in the story that will leave your heart breaking.
My thoughts: I was immediately attracted by title of this movie, and was sure this was a action movie. And indeed it was - an action movie! It's an awesome action movie (you will love the intro scenes) but that will last only until the 1st half. It swiftly changes to melo later on. I had watched Kang Don Won works before this too , but this was the one that made me fall for him. In this he is soo super !! duper … !! what can I say... watch it to find it!
From Japan:
My thoughts: Rain must not be the same anymore for d-addicts after watching so many dramas. And for many of us, rain would be synonymous to 'Yellow Umbrella' (Remember Love Rain and Missing You). But for me, Red umbrella represented rain before Yellow Umbrellas came to boom, which is because of the last scene of this movie.
Synopsis: Hana (Suzuki Anne) and Alice (Aoi Yu) are best buddies. Alice is outgoing while Hana is reserved. The story starts when Alice has a crush on a high schooler and offers Hana his brother Masashi (Kaku Tomohiro). At first Hana declines but she soon develops feelings for him and starts stalking him. Next year Hana and Alice enroll in the same high school as Masashi's and things begins to get complicated.
My thoughts: This is beautiful and intriguing in its own peculiar way. And also the least tearjerker among above. The filming of this movie is different to that of mainstream cinema, so at first it feels like watching some kind of homemade video. But we soon get caught up in the girls' lies and get entangled in the three's relationship. Ballet scenes are lovely to watch, and till the last there is this curiosity about who Masashi really likes.
Happy Watching !!!
