Here are 3 movies that won’t give you a dull moment. You won’t be looking at your phone, you are going to skip snacks, you will forget to breathe, and you will hold in your pee because going to the toilet isn’t an option.
These three movies give you something to think about. After the movie has ended, you won't do your regular things. No, after these movies you are still sitting and you are processing what you’ve seen but also have some questions for yourself to answer.
In my opinion, these are the best movies in that category.
Broken
Country: South Korea Year: 2014 Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller
Sang-Hyun's daughter, Soo-Jin, gets brutally raped and murdered. The case is in the hands of the police, but with little progress. Sang-Hyun decides to take matters into his own hands and find the culprits who did this to his daughter.
This movie will give you a realistic and understandable dilemma. Throughout the movie, I was in a fight with myself: “what would I have done as a parent?” This movie is made so perfectly realistic, and I find this a true masterpiece. This movie moved me so much that I seriously talked to the main lead.
The Crucible
Country: South Korea Year: 2011 Genre: Drama, Crime, Law
Gang In Ho is a new teacher at a hearing-impaired school in Gwangju. He is excited but slowly notices that the children don’t want any contact with him. When one of them finally opens up he finds out what is happening behind closed doors.
It is made so raw. The film, and especially the little actors, did an outstanding job! There is a warning because this movie isn’t for the faint-hearted people. It is really raw, brutal, horrible, and the worst is that it is based on true events. After you watch this movie, you will feel really horrible.. But why do I want you to watch this movie? Because they made it so extremely well. This takes you back to reality because we all close our eyes to horrible and disgusting things in this (sometimes sick) world. Honestly, I’ll never rewatch this movie but in a way, I am glad that I’ve seen this movie.
26 Years
Country: South Korea Year: 2012 Genre: Action, Drama
26 years earlier on May 18th we all know what happened. But how does the next generation feel about it in these days? You’ll follow three people with a past connected to May 18th. When they get the chance to kill the one and only person who gave the order to open fire on that day, what will they do?
This movie won’t let you go. It portrays three different stories, and it all comes together perfectly. You cannot watch this movie without feeling anger or despair. They portray the story in a unique way to start the movie. And I love it!! Again, here will you ask yourself “would I’ve done this if I were in their shoes?”.
Have you seen a movie with an extremely good story and left you thinking, please let us know so I and others can watch them!
