Two months earlier, I’ve been introduced to K-drama by my cousin, and ever since I feel like I’ve been drugged *literally*.  If I ever skip a day without seeing a Korean on my laptop screen, I feel my heart and brain itching.

The first drama I watched with her was I Hear Your Voice, so you can say it was my first dose of the K-drama drug ;D. I loved everything about it from characters and story, to the romance and mystery. Next I watchedHealer, then Pinocchio, and just yesterday I watched the last episode of I Remember You. So, what I learnt from these few dramas (other than Korea does indeed have  smokin’ hot dudes!!!  which I used to think the opposite.)

Uh yeah…So lets begin!!!

Lesson 1:

Lead characters should always meet at a younger age. They must be old friends, lovers, stalkers etc…You name it! The most important thing is to have history! Because if they meet as adults, NOPE! Sorry, but the drama wouldn’t work.

Lesson 2:

Lead female has to be either stupid or lacking education. The lead male is always a genius, a prodigy, a martial arts expert, smart, hot, educated, mysterious, funny, and the list goes on...

So should it be that the lead female is unlucky to be dense or extremely lucky because she has a perfect boyfriend? *curious face*

Lesson 3:

Korean police officers and investigators are extremely idiotic.

LIKE C’MON HOW CAN YOU GRADUATE FROM THE POLICE ACADEMY WITH SUCH LOW I.Q.?

If it’s not the academy’s fault, why did your department accept you? Did they not put you under training for the first few months? Ahhh….

Lesson 4:

As a fan for American shows, I get so bored from characters kissing EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. They wake-up they kiss. They eat, they kiss (I know it sounds gross, sorry!) They fight, they kiss. They sleep, they kiss. In Korean dramas on the other hand, you have to wait ages for our precious leads to kiss, and it’s short, sometimes awkward, and most of the time there has to be a tear included in the kiss. IT IS CRUCIAL!

Lesson 5:

If the female lead is tired, sick, crying, or being a nagging machine, just hop on your lover’s back and he’ll be happy to be giving you a piggyback ride home! Don’t worry about him getting back aches in the morning, because K-DRAMA!

Lesson 6:

One sick person lying in hospital bed, the other sleeping next to him while holding his hand. Sick person wakes up, sees other person sleeping, tries to touch his face or hair then BAM! Other person wakes up and sick person pretends he’s sleeping. Romeo and Juliet?

Lesson 7:

Emotional hot shower scenes for lead males! And by hot I don’t mean the water! *wink wink*

Lesson 8:

One of the leads has to be a jerk when they meet, then they will slowly fall in love. And the one who’s not a jerk, will always feel stupid in front of the jerk!

Lesson 9:

She always has the skill of the gentlest nurse when it comes to taking care of her lover's wounds. Like in every drama I watched so far!!!

P.S: I am only talking about the dramas I’ve watched and found similarities between them. I'm sure other dramas have these cliches too...

Thank you for reading and have a nice day ^___^
