A New Fantasy Horror Theme: The Witch's Diner

Hello, dear MDL readers! Today you will come to see why the fantasy horror genre

has become so attractive and popular lately.  The actual reasons why this unique cast

chose to appear on the "stage", will be explained further on.

Fair Warning: This article may include minor spoilers about this drama!

Number of episodes: 8 | Country: South Korea | Duration: 60 minutes

Will be available online, since 16th July, at Viki!

Without much chit chat, I'll cut straight to the chase:

First off, here is what Song Ji Hyo says, “I wanted to do a drama that was an adaptation of an original. I was attracted to the idea of doing a fantasy project, and I had a thirst for playing a character-driven role. When I read the script, I thought that I had to do it.” She added, “It would be exaggerating to say that I wanted to make a big transformation, but I did want to take on a challenge. I wanted to test how far I could change. Meanwhile."Hee Ra is a character I’ve never tried before, but she has a powerful appeal. I was half-nervous, half-excited for the first filming. Like a witch, Hee Ra has a fascinating and intimidating aura. Her nails are long and her hair is unique and you can never tell what she’s thinking inside. But something about her also pulls people toward her even on a first impression.”

Secondly, Nam Ji Hyun mentioned briefly, “My character, Jin, is someone who has a full spectrum of emotions and can treat people with warmth.” She added a few aspects about her roles modestly, “I think that they all turned out well because I had fun with the people I was working with.” but let's all keep in mind “In a way, it is a drama with various elements. There is fun, thrill, and heartwarming stories, and later on there will also be plot twists and touching aspects.”

Lastly, here is what Chae Jong Hyeop shared, "I went to set with the mindset of being someone who plays Lee Gil Yong. I think that other people felt more pressure about their roles than I did. Lee Gil Yong isn’t the type of person who puts everything out there. He holds a lot of things inside and doesn’t have anyone to talk to. He’s the type to try and overcome things alone. That was pretty tough. The directors helped make me comfortable, so I was able to do it.”
