Disney+ original series The Tyrant has been confirmed to be released in the second half of the year.
Starring Cha Seung Won, Kim Seon Ho, and Kim Kang Woo, The Tyrant is a sci-fi action drama about people who gather for different purposes chase each other after the last sample of the Tyrant Program disappears in an accident.
Directed by Park Hoon Jung (The Childe, The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion, and The Witch: Part 2. The Other One), The Tyrant has garnered significant attention for its story and cast.
Originally planned as a film, The Tyrant was turned into a four-part series during the production stage to fully capture the genre's fun, the charm of various characters, and the gradual development of the story.
Director Park Hoon Jung expressed, "I thought Disney+ was the best platform to present The Tyrant, as they respect the originality of the work and take bold steps."
The newly released stills of The Tyrant present the four characters central to the story. Cha Seung Won portrays Lim Sang, a former agent tasked with eliminating those involved in the Tyrant Program. Kim Seon Ho plays Director Choi, the bureau director of a government agency, who has unofficially operated the Tyrant Program.
Kim Kang Woo transforms into Paul, a member of a foreign intelligence agency trying to destroy the last sample of the Tyrant Program.
Moreover, rookie actor Cho Yoon Soo joins the cast as Ja Kyung, a technician hired to steal samples of the Tyrant Program.
The Tyrant is scheduled to be released in the second half of 2024, exclusively on Disney+.
