Exhuma, starring Choi Min Shik, Kim Go Eun, Yoo Hae Jin, and Lee Do Hyun, surpassed 3 million moviegoers.
According to the Youngjin Committee's integrated computer network for movie admissions, Exhuma attracted approximately 3,094,496 moviegoers as of February 28. It has achieved the 3 million mark in just seven days since its release on February 22.
Exhuma attracted 1 million moviegoers in three days, 2 million in four days, and 3 million in seven days.
It maintained the top spot for six consecutive days after its release, accumulating 3 million cinemagoers on the seventh day.
Exhuma begins with the story of a family living abroad, which experiences mysterious events that put the newborn of the family in grave danger. They seek help from the shaman duo Hwa Rim (Kim Go Eun) and Bong Gil (Lee Do Hyun), who discover that something sinister has attached itself to the family.
To get rid of the evil entity, the duo asks for help from the veteran geomancer Sang Deok (Choi Min Shik) and mortician Yeong Geun (Yoo Hae Jin). The group performs an exhumation which unleashes a malevolent force.
Considering the movie's craze, director Jang Jae Hyun and actors Choi Min Shik, Yoo Hae Jin, and Kim Go Eun will be holding stage greetings in Busan and Daegu.
Attention is now on how Exhuma will perform in its second weekend at the box office.
