Park Hae Soo in talks to reunite with Jeon Do Yeon in a new thriller mystery K-drama
Choi Woo Shik, Son Seok Koo, and Lee Hee Joon will be working together in a new confirmed Netflix original series.
On August 19th, Netflix confirmed that the upcoming series "Murder DIEary" will be led by Choi Woo Shik, Son Seok Koo, and Lee Hee Joon.
"Murder DIEary" will base its story on the legendary thriller webtoon "살인자ㅇ난감" ("The Murderer And The Toy" literal translation). It will tell the story of a civilian who accidentally became a murderer and a detective who will chase after him.
The webtoon was loved by many readers for its unpredictable twists and creative storytelling in contrast to cute paintings. It won several awards such as the Korean Content Awards Comic Rookie of the Year Award, Today's Korean Comic Award, and the Reader's Comic Award Judge Award.
"Murder DIEary" will be directed by Lee Chang Hee who also helmed "Strangers from Hell" and "The Vanished." The script will be written by Kim Da Min, the grand prize winner in the 2019 Gyeonggi Scenario Planning and Development Feature Category.
The upcoming Netflix original series will reportedly have 7 episodes. The premiere date is still not yet revealed.
Choi Woo Shik will play the role of Lee Tang. He is an ordinary college student who accidentally murdered a customer during a part-time job at a convenience store. He will later realize that the person he killed was a serial killer.
Son Seok Koo will play the role of Jang Nan Gam, the detective who will chase the murderer, Lee Tang.
Meanwhile. Lee Hee Joon will bring life to the character named Song Chon. He is a former detective who will also track down Lee Tang's whereabouts.
