He has a powerful aura to him, coming from a rich family. He acts kind and sweet in front of the camera but hides a dark face beneath it. He is one of the heroes of the people. His mysterious aura conceals his true identity and ambitions. He punishes criminals with no mercy and in a ruthless manner, hence the name. He had a dark past which is further shown in the story. He has his own way of doing things and quotes the courtroom as a gameshow where you have to win at every cost.

Park Jin Young as Kim Ga On

He is assigned to the position by his former professor who now works at the chief justice's office. Kim Min Jung as Jung Sun Ah

Kang Yo-Han's greatest rival, who was born in a low income family but is now the executive director of a corporate social responsibility foundation and holds enough power to influence the leaders of society. She is shown to be a very forward and sly person who speaks her mind without thinking about the consequences. She schemes and plot against those who tend to stand her way of achieving something. She has powerful and wealthy people on her side that make her confident and secure in her position. She is the one who conspires and is the person behind the bomb that explodes in Kang Yo Han's office at the end of episode two, which was planted just to warn Kang Yo Han to mind his limits.

Park Gyu Young as Yoon Soo Hyun

She had been crushing on Kim Ga On for a long time which is implied in a conversation between them when Kim Ga On shows concern for her and she tells him, "If you keep on doing that, I'll ask you out again."

The power struggle happening in the show is the main theme till now. It can be seen from the first episode. If the drama had to be described in one world, it would be Powerful. The sequences and the flow of the story is amazing along with the visuals of the main leads. The cinematic effects happening along with slick cars driving and the cut scenes from one to the next frame are excellently done. As the episodes progress, every character has this powerful and strong vibe to them. All stances and walks are iconic and powerful.

The background score is amazing, too. It fits perfectly with the theme and flow the drama is going through. At luxurious parties, the sophisticated society is shown with their posh outfits and their powerful postures. The outskirts of the town show the poor dwellers, which fits perfectly into the storyline as it is based on a dystopian Korea which was hit by a economic downfall, and how the high class and government officials are having discussions on building back Seoul the way it was before.

Not to mention the comedy. Even with all the power struggle shown in the drama, we still get to see comedy aspects on the show. The most interesting character, Oh Jin Joo, who works as an associate judge alongside Kang Yohan and Kim Ga On, has that hysterical aura to her. Her bubbly and funny ways bring smiles to your face. She brings comedy to the table of this drama.

The fun strategies and ways Kang Yo Han uses to bring justice to the people and punish the offenders are well executed. This is another amazing aspect to the drama.

As the show is written by a former judge turned writer, you can expect to see many amazing cases similar to real life and how the Devil Judge brings them to justice.
