Disney+'s original series Gangnam B-Side released character stills of Ha Yoon Kyung who transforms into Prosecutor Min Seo Jin, a character driven by ambition for success.
Gangnam B-Side is a crime K-drama that follows a top detective who, after being demoted, joins forces with a prosecutor and a mysterious broker to take down sinister forces operating in the shadows of Gangnam's nightlife.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo actress Ha Yoon Kyung plays Min Seo Jin, a junior prosecutor who must survive in the organization without any connections. She portrays a character caught between ambition for success and the justice she must uphold as a prosecutor.
Describing her character Min Seo Jin as "like cold fire," Ha Yoon Kyung introduced her as someone who harbors burning ambition on the inside but hides it behind a cold exterior. She hinted that Min Seo Jin is a character who doesn’t easily reveal her true feelings.
Director Park Noo Ri revealed an unexpected behind-the-scenes story, saying, "Originally, Min Seo Jin was written as an older character in the script," but she changed the character’s setting because she wanted to work with Ha Yoon Kyung.
Ha Yoon Kyung shared that she personally consulted with former prosecutors to prepare for the role. She explained, "To capture the feeling of a prosecutor buried in work, I wore almost no makeup and kept the costumes as simple as possible."
Director Park Noo Ri gave Ha Yoon Kyung the nickname "Dialogue Genius," praising her by saying, "She not only memorized all those lines perfectly but also acted them all out flawlessly."
Jo Woo Jin, who co-stars with her as detective Kang Dong Woo, also expressed his admiration, saying, "At times, she felt like an older sister. She's a sincere and upright actor."
Gangnam B-Side will be released exclusively on Disney+ on November 6.
