MBC confirms the airing of episodes 5 and 6 of 'When the Phone Rings'
Netflix unveiled the nine characters that are joining the Squid Game Season 2.
On December 5, Netflix dropped nine posters featuring eight new characters and the main lead, Seong Gi Hun for the upcoming K-drama Squid Game Season 2.
The released posters feature Lee Jung Jae, Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Lee Jin Wook, Park Sung Hoon, Yang Dong Geun, Kang Ae Shim, Lee Seo Hwan, and Jo Yu Ri, the new game's participants.
Squid Game Season 2 will showcase the fierce battle between Seong Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae), who will return to the game to take revenge, and the frontman (Lee Byung Hun), who will welcome him back to the deadly game again.
The new season will be directed and produced by director Hwang Dong Hyuk.
Aside from the nine participants revealed, actors Wi Ha Joon, Park Gyu Young, Won Ji An, David Lee, Noh Jae Won, former BIGBANG member T.O.P., Gong Yoo, and more will appear in the upcoming second season of Squid Game.
Squid Game Season 2 will premiere worldwide on Netflix on December 26. It will have a total of 7 episodes.
Lee Jung Jae will continue to portray the role of Seong Gi Hun, player 456. He returns to the deadly game to end and expose it. Unlike other participants who are new to the game, Seong Gi Hun is seen with a serious face.
Yim Si Wan will portray the role of player 333, Myung Gi. He is a cryptocurrency YouTuber who scammed his subscribers to invest in a crypto scheme.
Kang Ha Neul will portray the role of player 388, named Dae Ho, an ex-marine. Although he looks tough because of his over-the-top masculinity, he's actually a friendly trickster who connects with everyone.
Lee Jin Wook is player 246, Gyeong Seok in the game. He will portray the role of a father who has a daughter suffering from cancer. He decided to join the game to pay for the treatment of her daughter.
Park Sung Hoon will be player 120, named Hyun Ju. He is a former special forces soldier and now a transgender woman. Hyun Ju decided to join the game to have enough money for her gender-affirming surgery. Park Sung Hoon's character Hyun Ju will break down stereotypes and will also shine as an inspiring character.
Yang Dong Geun will give life to the role of Yong Shik, player 007. He is an immature and shameless gambler buried in debt. He is also the son of player 149.
Kang Ae Shim will be player 149, Geum Ja, in the game. She is the mother of player 007 Yong Shik. She decided to join the game for the sake of paying off his son's debts. She will do anything for his son.
Lee Seo Hwan will portray the role of player 149, Jung Bae. He is the immature friend of Seong Gi Hun who was also seen in the first season.
Jo Yu Ri will portray the role of player 222, Jun Hee. She is a persistent individual who joined the game to earn a living. In the game, she encounters her ex-boyfriend Myung Gi who also asked her to invest in crypto.
