SBS's upcoming K-drama 7 Escape released still cuts of Hwang Jung Eum in the role of the ruthless CEO of a drama production company, Geum Ra Hee.
7 Escape is a revenge drama centered around seven people entangled in the disappearance of a girl, intertwined with numerous lies and desires.
Fans are especially looking forward to actress Hwang Jung Eum's transformation, as she comes to play the role of an antagonist.
Geum Ra Hee is a greedy woman who values money and success more than anything else. Beneath her beauty lies a lethal charm and she is the epitome of desire, willing to seize whatever she wants by any means necessary, unhesitatingly. The intrigue lies in how the decisions made by Geum Ra Hee to achieve her desires will eventually backfire on her.
Actress Hwang Jung Eum stated, "I received an offer from the writer, 'Want to try an antagonist role?' Since I really wanted to experience the writer's work, I gladly decided to take part". She revealed her motivation for choosing the project, saying, "There was no reason to decline a fascinating story with interesting characters and an engaging plot".
She also shared her thoughts on writer Kim Soon Ok, stating, "Writer Kim Soon Ok can create something out of nothing. Moreover, the fact that it's constantly changing is truly impressive. It was an honor and a pleasure to work with her". She continued, "I trusted and followed the writer and director, who had successful collaborations in the past".
Lastly, Hwang Jung Eum spoke about her character Geum Ra Hee, saying, "She's a very bold, audacious, and business-savvy character with a strong entrepreneurial spirit". "She's quite different from the roles I've taken on before. This heavy and solid antagonist role is a first for me, so I put a lot of effort into preparation". She commented, "I diligently analyzed the script and focused not only on conveying charisma but also on manifesting demeanor, speech, and gestures that exude charisma".
