Im Ji Yeon nearly gets caught in her fake identity in The Tale of Lady Ok.
The Tale of Lady Ok tells the story of Ok Tae Young (Im Ji Yeon), a woman whose name, status, and husband are all fake, and Cheon Seung Hwi (Choo Young Woo), a storyteller who risked his life to protect her.
The K-drama’s unique premise, following the heartrending and desperate struggles of Gu Deok Yi, a slave-born woman who lives faking her identity as a noblewoman to survive, captivates prospective viewers.
Against the backdrop of this, the third teaser has been released, showcasing the cooperation of those who help Ok Tae Yeong in her fight for survival.
The teaser begins by showing the busy day of the fake Ok Tae Yeong, so full that Cha Mi Ryeong's (Yeonwoo) question, "Aren't you lonely?" seems unnecessary. Ok Tae Young replies, "Why would I be lonely? There are people who need me." Ok, who is addressed by various titles by those who need her, covers Cheon Seung Hwi's mouth when he calls her by her real name, Gu Deok Yi.
Additionally, seeing Ok Tae Young sweeping the yard and frying pancakes skillfully, hardly fitting for a noble lady, astonishes even the slave Dokkie (Oh Dae Hwan).
Cheon Seung Hwi's servant, Man Seok (Lee Jae Won), says something shocking, "back when our lady was a slave," while the kitchen maid, Mak Shim (Kim Jae Hwa), tries to cover it up with an awkward smile.
These quirky characters surrounding the fake Ok Tae Young add a humorous touch to the story.
But they are also her loyal allies, worried that, "If you get caught, we're all dead." Curiosity grows around Ok Tae Young's journey to escape her past and forge a new path toward living a life of dignity.
The Tale of Lady Ok will premiere on November 30. The K-drama will be available to stream on Netflix. Watch the teaser here.
