Go Min Si lands her first leading role in a film!
Ji Seung Hyun and Jung Hye Sung will team up for the very first time to lead a new action comedy film.
On November 7, media outlet YTN shared an exclusive report revealing that Ji Seung Hyun and Jung Hye Sung have been chosen to lead the upcoming action comedy My Friend is a Murderer. According to reports, filming has already begun.
My Friend is a Murderer will depict the story of a man who committed a murder and went to hiding overseas, then decided to return to Korea and live in a quiet village as his case's statute of limitations will end soon.
The upcoming movie will be the next work of director Kim Hee Sung.
In addition to Ji Seung Hyun and Jung Hye Sung, actors Ki Joo Bong, Kim Myung Kook, and Park Noh Shik will join the cast.
Ji Seung Hyun will portray the role of Baek Sung Chul in the film. He committed murder and fled to China to hide. He then decided to return to South Korea 30 days before the statute of limitations.
Jung Hye Sung will portray the role of Yang Yang Ra. She is an environmental group employee who encounters Baek Sung Chul while she's trying to protect her hometown village which is famous for fireflies.
My Friend is a Murderer will reportedly premiere in Korean theaters in May 2025.
This will be the follow-up project of Ji Seung Hyun after gaining more fame through the K-drama Good Partner. The brilliant actor is also set to make a special cameo appearance in the K-drama The Fiery Priest Season 2.
Aside from My Friend is a Murderer, Ji Seung Hyun will also star in the upcoming movie Veranda with Jeon So Min, Ha Soo Ho, Jeong Hee Tae, and VIXX's Leo.
Meanwhile, this will be Jung Hye Sung's grand comeback to the big screen. She last starred in the 2019 film Mate. The actress will also return to K-dramas with the upcoming series Single Man and Woman. Jung Hye Sung will work alongside actor Yoon Hyun Min.
