Ahn Chang Hwan, Yoo Sung Joo, Jung Won Chang, Lee Seo Hwan, Jeon Guk Hyang, Kim Soo An, and Han Chang Min will also be joining the cast of the upcoming tvN drama "Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se Poong."
On June 10th tvN confirmed that Ahn Chang Hwan, Yoo Sung Joo, Jung Won Chang, Lee Seo Hwan, Jeon Guk Hyang, Kim Soo An, and Han Chang Min will be added to the cast of the upcoming drama "Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se Poong." The series will be led by Kim Min Jae, Kim Hyang Gi, and Kim Sang Kyung.
"Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se Poong" will base its story on the novel of the same name. The novel got the excellence in the 2016 Korea Story Contest. The drama will tell the stories of patients and the people around them. It will showcase comfort amidst a world that renounces conscience. The drama will focus on Yoo Se Poong, a great psychiatrist in the Joseon era.
The upcoming series will be directed by Park Won Gook and will be penned by Lee Bom ("Drama Stage Season 4: Attention Hog").
"Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se Poong" will premiere on August 1.
Kim Min Jae will portray the main lead role Yoo Se Poong. He is a great psychiatrist in the Joseon era. Kim Hyang Gi will play the role of Seo Eun Woo, a widow that became a psychiatrist.
The drama was supposed to air in July. "Joseon Psychiatrist Yoo Se Poong" began filming early this year. Last March, the filming team got into a huge car accident in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. The incident caused the life of a male producer in his 30s. Seven other staff also got hurt. Because of this, filming for the series was halted. Last May, it was officially confirmed that the series resumed filming. The staff that was hurt were said to be recovering from hospital treatment and they are also undergoing psychological counseling.
