Jeong Ryeo Won is in talks to lead the upcoming drama "Let's Start The Defense."
On December 2nd, several industry sources shared that Jung Ryeo Won has finally chosen her next drama to star in. The actress is said to be the main lead for the upcoming drama "Let's Start The Defense" directed by Kim Dam and Kang Min Gu.
"Let's Start The Defense" will tell the story of a public defender, who has to defend the murderer who killed someone she loved. This will be the biggest dilemma of her life.
Jeong Ryeo Won received the offer to play the role of Noh Chak Hee, a 33 years old single woman who is a public lawyer. If the actress accepts the casting offer, this will be her third time starring in a law-themed drama. She already acted as a prosecutor in the dramas "Witch's Court" and "Diary of a Prosecutor."
Though she was offered several drama roles to choose from, it was reported that Jeong Ryeo Won had rejected all of them. Many are already anticipating if the actress will finally pick "Let's Start The Defense" as her next drama project.
"Let's Start The Defense" will begin filming on February 2022. The drama will reportedly premiere in 2023 and will be released through global OTT platforms.
If Jeong Ryeo Won accepts the drama, this will be her comeback to the small screen after four years! She last starred in the 2019 series "Diary of a Prosecutor" with Lee Sun Kyun, Lee Sung Jae, Lee Sang Hee, Kim Kwang Gyu, and Jeon Sung Woo.
The actress was also part of the dramas "Wok of Love," "Bubblegum," "Medical Top Team," "The King of Dramas," "Which Star Are You From?," "History of the Salaryman," "My Lovely Sam Soon," and many others.
