Aside from going back to music, Kim Se Jeong might return with a new drama!
Drama insiders revealed on April 5 that Kim Se Jeong will be the main lead for the upcoming Korean remake of Japanese drama "Juhan Shuttai!" (Sleepeeer Hit!). The Korean remake will air on SBS with the title "Today’s Webtoon."
Kim Se Jeong's agency Jellyfish Entertainment confirmed the reports but reiterated that the idol actress is still not confirmed for the role and she is still reviewing the casting offer.
"Today’s Webtoon" is based from the Japanese drama "Jūhan Shuttai! (Sleepeeer Hit!)" that tells a story of On Ma Eum, a webtoon editor who's having a hard time after joining the the webtoon editorial department. The Japanese hit drama aired in TBS in 2016.
Kim Se Jeong got the offer to play the main lead role named On Ma Eum. She was a former member of the national judo team but had to give up because of an injury. After her injury, she started a new dream as she was fascinated with the webtoon world. Eventually, she got in the webtoon editorial department after the fierce competition of applicants.
"Today’s Webtoon" will be written by Jo Hyun Joo and it is expected to air on the second half of the year.
Kim Se Jeong last appeared in the hit OCN drama "The Uncanny Counter" in 2020 with Cho Byeong Kyu, Yoo Joon Sang, and Yeom Hye Ran. She has been active as an idol and an actress since 2016. The hit drama is also confirmed to have a second season in the future. She also starred in "School 2017," and "I Wanna Hear Your Song." Kim Se Jeong recently released her second mini album "I'M" and currently promoting as a solo singer.
