Attention is focused on whether King the Land will surpass JTBC's all-time rating record.

JTBC's new weekend drama 'King the Land' (written by Choi Rom and directed by Im Hyun Wook), is just a week away from its premiere.

King the Land tells the story of Gu Won (played by Lee Jun Ho), a man who scoffs at laughter, and Cheon Sa Rang (played by Im Yoon Ah), a smiling queen who must always smile, as they create days where they can genuinely laugh at the VVIP lounge 'King the Land,' which is the dream of hoteliers.

Lee Jun Ho, who achieved a record-breaking viewership rating of 17.4% with 'The Red Sleeve,' has received numerous awards, such as the Best Actor in a Mini-Series at the 2021 MBC Drama Awards, Best Couple Award, and Best Actor in a TV Drama at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards for his role. He plays Gu Won, the son of a king group, who possesses innate elegance, charisma, a sharp mind, and chic charm.

Im Yoon Ah gained great strength with a peak viewership rating of 13.7% for her role as Go Mi Ho in 'Big Mouth.' She received the Best Actress in a Mini-Series and Best Couple awards at the 2022 MBC Drama Awards, solidifying her position as a respectable actress. Now, Im Yoon Ah takes on the role of Cheon Sa Rang, the smiling queen of King Hotel.

Just the fact that Lee Jun Ho and Im Yoon Ah are coming together creates high expectations for King the Land as one of the most anticipated works in the first half of 2023. The irreplaceable castings of other actors, such as
Go Won Hee, Kim Ga Eun, Ahn Se Ha, and Kim Jae Won, along with the attractive story, have raised viewers' anticipation.

King the Land has garnered high anticipation even before its premiere. Whether this work can change JTBC's drama ratings or rankings remains to be seen. The previous work of King the Land,  'Doctor Cha,' caused a significant shift in the recent JTBC drama ratings rankings. 'Doctor Cha' recorded 18.5% ratings and climbed to fourth place in JTBC's all-time drama ratings rankings, surpassing 'Itaewon Class.'

The top-rated JTBC drama is 'The World of the Married' with 28.4%. 'Reborn Rich' holds second place with 26.9%, and 'SKY Castle' ranks third with 23.7%. 'Doctor Cha,' 'Itaewon Class,' 'Woman of Dignity,' 'The Light in Your Eyes,' and 'Strong Woman Do Bong Soon' follow behind. With Lee Jun Ho and Im Yoon Ah's performances in King the Land, whether this drama can shake up the rankings is noteworthy.

JTBC's new weekend drama King the Land will premiere on the 11th at 10:30 PM KST.
